Clever, thanks for sharing your trick. If we could get this all packaged up into a powered USB hub with automatic switching after charging is detected, we'd have a poor man's desktop dock.
Thanks for showing us that! Is there anyway you can show us how you made it? The lack of power and usb devices at the same time is the only thing keeping me from using this as my daily driver.
Hi, I bought Dell 8 Pro(Atom), and I will receive it this Thursday. I saw your post on TabletPC Review about putting extra flash drive by letting use of extra USB tabs that are on the board. I am planning to create extra usb port and have two questions. 1) USB is not active when tablet goes to sleep, correct? 2) How much of battery life decrease did you have by putting flash drive? Thanks!
There is a device that will charge your Dell Venue 8 with almost any adapter and allow you to use USB peripherals at the same time. I saw this on Kickstarter and it is a small micro USB device that you plug your charger or power source into and then connect it to your tablet. It has a USB device port so that while you are charging you can use a keyboard, mouse, hard drive, USB hub or any other compatible USB device. You can turn your tablet or phone into a desktop system. It sounds pretty cool. Take a look at this link. www.kickstarter.com/projects/1094775787/port-power-usb-at-the-same-time I'm going to get one and check it out.
Please, HOW DID YOU MAKE THAT CABLE?!?! This video has no point if you will not tell us how to make use of it! Please don't leave me hanging! Typed on me Venue 8 Pro

Do you use a blue tooth keyboard?
Good job man! Could you plz make a stylus demo video plz? Everyone is eager about the pen performance
Interesting. I wanted to know exactly this for this exact device. Hooray!
Wait...you don't explain your method?
hey could you tell me or show me how to make it for mine?
I was going to try all types of adapters and hubs and docks but I finally resigned myself to using the Bluetooth devices and the Miracast dongle.
thanks for the information, though the quality of your video is ...
You could have another people holding the camera while you operate
all you need now is to package that up into a neat fcc approved product, sell it on amazon and you're sorted.

Just solder a 120 ohms resistor across the data lines and that's it you don't need a switch.
so i have a otg cable and can just put the resistor over the 2 data cables and it works? im gonna try this tomorrow
Yes, use the Y otg and strip off and solder the one going to the tablet.
shiiiit, and i returned mine because of that to get the 11. if this really works i maybe should consider getting it again.
