      I'm really surprised about the price. A very useful item rendered useless because it's not getting out to the masses. Hope one day it will be improved to include all BMS and be more realistically priced. Waiting for a competitor with good relations with all the BMS manufacturers to save us all

    • @ZakHooiTM
      @ZakHooiTM 7 місяців тому

      Well the fun thing is that the price of the device when Sorin got it was 179 pounds, today the price is double of that plus you need extra licenses and all.
      The price of the unit is something I get but why not make it also that you can buy some amount of resets for a fee like 10 resets in unlimited time.

    • @nipembedded9976
      @nipembedded9976 7 місяців тому

      @@ZakHooiTM You are right, in 2020 the price was 179 pounds and the device had 20% of the analysis functions which are now supported by December 2023. Chip Reset was a dream at that moment, Chip Reset was introduced in 2021. More, two years ago DHL rate was half of the current rate, you can ask them why they doubled the price for the same service. If DHL is not sufficient, just check the price of any gadget in 2020 and compare it with 2023. No one in this world offers 1 second trial, NLBA1 comes with 10 free days of unlimited battery repairs.

    • @karltest1314
      @karltest1314 7 місяців тому

      @@ZakHooiTM Also I believe it does not cover the newer BQ chips, and the supported BQ chips do not get updated either. Perhaps next year Analyser II, with another subscription model, one that covers the missing chips, so you need two licences ;)
      I'd rather pay Sorin £25 than buy this box.

    • @g4z-kb7ct
      @g4z-kb7ct 7 місяців тому

      @@ZakHooiTM There is a small amount of free unlocks once the item is purchased without having to renew and re-pay for the license the next year. Sorin mentions it in a vid. If you do less than x amount of unlocks per year then the license renews for free. Personally if i had a newish laptop and the battery locked I would buy that device to unlock it just to f*ck over the manufacturers LOL! If you have to buy a new genuine battery the price is not far off so it is probably better to unlock the genuine battery and have that capability for the future than buy a cheap Chinese knock off battery.

    That looks like a way for PC manufactures to make you buy expensive replacement batteries. This is just as bad as the chips on ink jet cartridges and not letting you refill or use generics.

    • @g4z-kb7ct
      @g4z-kb7ct 7 місяців тому

      Yeah it's another version of the well known ink jet cartridge scam. FYI you can refill some selected carts if you have the correct printer model and turn off the ink level monitor. That's why I still have a Canon MG2560 around. Ink refills cost about 50 cents. If the carts blocks up soak in hot water and do a few full color page prints to fix it. At 5 bucks for a large bottle of ink it doesn't really matter wasting a full page of ink now hehe!

    My new Asus battery died many times, I fixed it. Using random key combinations, touchpad keys, plugging in many tines. Even the 95% was upside down during charging. The native battery manager driver caused the battery’s fate, after the hibernation is successful, the illegal driver must be removed. Only Asus professionals are allowed to install it. Without hibernation the battery can’t be balanced. When the fan spins up during hibernation, that informs that the batt is currently balancing. It takes 50 discharges to get the best effect.

    Of course, that device is a novelty & I do appreciate it's creator! In my country a new compatible battery is priced at eleven pounds & an orginal battery at twenty pounds. No, clients have asked me to repair a battery in my entire career except once by a teenager long ago during the times when laptops are priced as Ferrari's! Here if I say I will repair a battery for five pounds every one will be very suspicious & will certainly say no thinking that it will be a dogy way of swindling! So I will never get it even if he gives it free!

    • @gorjy9610
      @gorjy9610 7 місяців тому

      That 20 pound original is "original". I understand, I'd have same problem here where I live, nobody would pay 40€ for repairing old battery (even when it's a completely new, just locked) but at least I never sell 20€ battery as original. That's just wrong.

    • @Aneesh.Asokan
      @Aneesh.Asokan 7 місяців тому

      @@gorjy9610 Here no one wants original but compatible battery & for both they do offer one year replacement warranty. Of all the batteries I have sold, only a couple came back with problems that necessities replacement! So everyone one wants compatible only, but no repairs. They take that suggestions as extremely suspicious! Yes, I am not sure in other countries, but I feel that this device will have miniscule takers!

EV2300/EV2400 is just an USB to SMBus adapter, only NLBA1 can test, analyze, calibrate, check cells, measure IR, measure imbalance, etc. etc. One genuine EV2400 costs almost like NLBA1, that's incredible :))

      This battery repair is part of the same laptop repair that Sorin just repaired HP Envy 17. HP Envy 17 is sold by HP for a few years and this model is still available now but no way to tell when this exact model was bought. In any case it wasn't sent just to repair the battery, that is purely a bonus fix. The laptop was dead for probably many months so the battery discharged and then locked itself due to low voltage. After Sorin fixed the laptop he saw the battery was not charging so then he fixed the battery and published this separate video just for that.

    • @rokag3332
      @rokag3332 6 місяців тому

      Not absurd, if you know about battery you may find what is wrong and change one cell or all the cell because if you have a bad cell and you unlock your battery the BMS will lock again.
      You are aware that lithium battery can take fire so this is security and it is the goal, if you are a professional or experienced amateur then you may unlock it with either arduino EV2300-2400 the product in this video in every case it need some at least """basic""" knowledge of electronic and lithium battery.
      Li-ion battery are not dangerous provided that you absolutely know what you are doing.
      But the unlock data should be always available and here is where regulation should apply

  • @g4z-kb7ct
    @g4z-kb7ct 7 місяців тому

    umm yeah you have to watch the batteries when the laptop is not being used. i have a Toshiba Portege Z30TC i7-6600U from 2016 and it stops charging a few times a year. Every few months I have to remove the main battery to reset the cmos and then it will charge again. If I didn't reset the cmos the battery would eventually go too low and then get locked. The manufacturers know this and design the self-kill mechanism into the battery on purpose to sell more batteries and/or obsolete the product to force people to buy a new one. This dirty little game that the manufacturers are playing should be illegal.
