Loved them as a kid. I still eat them once in a while when my wife isn’t around. I don’t think of it as spaghetti. More like a spaghetti flavored soup. 🍝
Yea. To any of my broke af ramen nood meals. Ditch the seasoning. Add butter, parm, black pepp…. AND (if youre into it…) cold af cottage cheese. Cheap salty cheesy peppery w hot n cold contrast
Thank you Mrs Darcy D. I love these still as a poor adult. Hahah. I add a ton of black pepper, shredded cheese, Parmesan, and maybe some jarred jalapeños. I find the taste tastes better when it’s cooked for like 4-4.5 mins. What do you like to add, ma’am?
@@darcydeming8565 that sounds nice. Almost like a RedneckRaimen!!!! Hahah I love cheese in mine. Kroger has a sale on Spagetti ohs and I grabbed 8 cans hahaha
We were a Chef Boyardee house growing up. I think you have to have a certain level of nostalgia to eat these, and I don't have it for spaghetti-os. As an adult Chef Boyardee is always in my hurricane emergency food every year.
I was a huge spaghettiO’s fan growing up!! Haven’t had it in probably 15 years, I need to get some!! I used to crush up ritz crackers and add them to it. Chefs kiss!! Great video!!
Another Sean spotting...this time on a Timber Ridge waterpark video. It's always fun and hilarious when we spot Sean in commercials or UA-cam videos. Is Timber Ridge worth the money??? you rock and Go GREEN!!
Love the video, Sean! I haven't had Spaghetti O's since I was like... ten. But when you ate them, I could remember the flavor! hahaha also I used to love Mike's Hard. I am going to try the zero sugar version now.
Ok, I didn't know there were that many kinds of Spaghetti O's. Nor did I know that Mikes Hard Lemonade was still being made. I learned things today! #themoreyouknow 😆
Absolutely loved spaghetti O’s as a kid and still have it today from time to time for it bring back so many memories plus in my opinion it still taste good 😂
Totally get that. If I had grown up on this, I think the nostalgia would prevail over what it actually tastes like. But since I didn't, it's just not for me taste-wise. You can't beat the deal though.
@@HeySeanEly my mom would often cut up some ballpark franks and put it in the spaghetti O’s and it would taste so good she even fixed it for me one time after I became an adult to comfort me after being sick in the hospital when I was in my twenties
1) You actually can buy the rings in the dry pasta aisle. I don't know if Barilla sells them, but I know Creamette does. 2) I love the meatballs, but I think the actual pasta tastes better in the version without them than the version with them. You're right, the meatballs do seem to do something to the overall flavor of the pasta. I wish they would go the Crunch Berries route and come out with a can of "Oops! All Meatballs!".
I was NEVER allowed ANY of this. I begged for it. Closest comparison I was allowed was Campbells alphabet soup or chicken nood soup when I was home sick from school. But when she wasnt being lazy she would make my Grandma’s chicken noodle soup. Yep the meatballs look like cat poop
I'll still get the franks version once in a while. Maybe once or twice a year but I always eat them staight out of the can. Because to me, they smell like vomit when you heat them up!
We were a Chef Boyardee family. I did however like the Franco American (now Campbell's) spaghetti with out meatballs. I don't think they make that or the ravioli-os anymore. If called upon to do so, yes I can eat a can of spaghetti-os nowadays. I prefer the meatballs. BTW don't feel bad, all our first drunks were wine coolers or hard lemonade.
My mom served us the classic spaghetti o’s regularly as a child…with a slice of toasted white bread with peanut butter spread on it. I don’t know where she came up with it, but it works in a strange way. She also would put cheez its in her manchuran chicken flavored ramen- wasn’t a fan of that one
i wonder if these are any different to the Heinz varieties I grew up with in the UK. Probably less sugar and chemicals that are banned in most countries lol
Bro. These taste so much better when you cook them in a pan. Or microwave them for 4.5 mins. I grew up poor AF and these were a staple during the week. The tin can makes the tomato sauce taste more acrid. (It’s why when you roast tomatoes they recommend a non reactive dish made of glass). But Darcy D is right. Add some pepper, Parmesan, maybe some hotsauce (vinegar based) or jalapeños from a jar and it goes from meh to pretty good. Plus dipping a grilled cheese in is Fire bro.
Mike's Hard & Twisted Tea were my first alcoholic bevs I ever drank, also at a party when I was 15 haha. Friend wanted me to smoke up as well but I thought I'd still be high the next day & my parents would find out. Wound up smoking later on that year over Thanksgiving break, 15 years ago now. Anyway I used to love the ones with franks when I was a kid packing lunches for school. Very nostalgic. Would never eat them now though tbh but as a kid, I really dug them for some reason.
Something happened to spaghettios several years ago. The franks and meatballs used to be distinctly different, now there's virtually no difference. The meatballs used to be round and had the flavor and texture of actual "beef". Now the balls and franks appear to be sliced hot dogs. I actually called them to complain, when I bought a can with meatballs and the meatballs looked and tasted exactly like the can i bought with franks the previous week. I thought they had been mislabeled or mispackaged. I used to prefer the meatball variety. I will never buy them again. 😢
good God I used to love them original spaghetti o's and the ones with meatballs , that along with Chef boyardee raviolis were a staple of diet on a weekly basis for years. Until a few years they found a tumor in my stomach and had the majority of it removed along with my esophagus valve removed so my diet has kind changed since, but damb dude i love that stuff and coming with ideas as what to add to it .Drove my Dr nuts when i told him how much of canned pasta I ate. Good video keep up the good work
Nothing from back in the day tastes the same anymore. Soft ass kids nowadays allergic to everything lol Have you ever tried peanut butter filled pretzel nuggets dipped in nutella??? You'll never eat pretzel nuggs the same again
I never understood why Spaghettios and Chef Boyardee were so sweet. And nothing I ever added to them could mask that sweetness. I was thinking while you tested them, that maybe if you added a decent hot dog to the plain, it might be palatable.
I love the franks verison though they have been hard to find in my area since the plague started. You must add canned parmesan and plenty of it. Real parm doesnt work, must be canned. Uh-oh spaghettios 💜💜💜
I like them! I have never thought of these as any type of spaghetti. They're more like tomato noodle soup. I favor meatball, and here's the goofy part, I like the noodle part in the meatball variety because of the flavor that the meatballs impart, not really because I like the meatballs themselves, although I certainly do eat them. I tried getting the plain once and really didn't like them. They had a flavor I didn't like and when I looked at the ingredients I saw the the "plain" isn't really plain. It had cheese in it that the others don't. I've never had the one with franks in it. I just refuse.
1:10 Well, given how I feel about spaghettiOs these days (age 41 going on 42 in September), if unlike me, alcohol doesn’t make you nauseous when seeing or smelling it (due to trying it a few times in my life ( last time being a few months ago), then you WOULD need something alcoholic with them- if you can get drunk, they might actually taste good/ tasty.. 10:35 Says he’d never eat one of the four WILLINGLY, yet does this video where he eats all four of his own free will 🤣😆😁 Too late, yo! 😂 10:57 And already answered this in a very indirect kind of way lol. These things are a savior if your like me and on the road alot for work, especially when the place your working has a really expensive cost of living, cheap, and easy to pack and wont spoil on you, just if your gonna have the same lifestyle i have and these are your go to staples to not starve during the work weeks away from home you need to drink double the water you would normally drink because the sodium in canned food does a massive number on your body if you dont
It's just too bad that they changed the original sauce recipe since the '80s, as well as removing the smallest bullseye pasta piece. But the meatballs & franks versions still rule!🤗👍
I really don’t like the no meatballs spaghetti os I think the one with meatballs is the best I think the meat balls were better with chicken pork and beef but that’s just me

Spot on. 100%.
Whenever I ate Spaghettios, (only liked the one with no meat), loaded it with parm in the green shaker and tons of black pepper. Game changer.

Note: the plain Spaghettios come in a tomato and cheese sauce; the others come in a simpler tomato sauce.
That combo of Mike's an that pasta would make me shit devils pudding

I feel that. I had to add soooooo much black pepper that it changed the sauce color.😂 but yeah tooo sweet.
Because it's geared towards children's taste buds, i can't stand spaghetti-o's or anything related now, that sauce. 🤢
