Love, love, love, the texture and the excavating process. I just watched part 1 and am now a subscriber. It amazes me all the time that the internet and then UA-cam allows us to connect even though we may live hundreds or thousands of miles away from each other.
That's a wonderful thing about the internet I agree. This whole channel came to be as a sort of mistake - and it thrills me to connect with so many people all over the globe this way ! I teach classes online too if you were ever interested, get it touch on my website: andreawedell.com
Wow! Since I’ve found you I can’t stop watching. I always wanted to learn the cold wax technique. I’m intrigued by the many different shapes and the flow. Now the layering. I yearn to do abstract and this is helping me so much!!!! You’re so good at explaining and showing. I love it here watching all of your tutorials. I hope to take a class with you soon. Thank you so much for posting these wonderful videos. God bless!❤️🤗
Ive watched near all your video's and just can't get enough! One question! I am coming from acrylics where I always use a high quality paste on my canvas instead of gesso. I notice you only use wood panels. why? may I ask? And Can I use the wax/oil on a well pasted canvas?
I'm having issues with my bryers. The edges seem to be slightly elevated and are leaving deep lines on my canvas. A couple theories come to mind a) poor quality buyers (cheap Amazon buy) b) they take time to break in? c) I'm working on stretched canvas so perhaps not able to press hard enough? Would really appreciate your thoughts on this :)
Very familiar with that aggravating problem ! I wound up buying new ones every few months. One thing that’s helped is cleaning them after use each time with citrasolve. Then dry them. I don’t think it has anything to do with pressure and application. I may check in with the manufacturer of the ones I use and let everyone know what I find out !
I know you speed up videos so that we can see the process - could you mention when you stop to wait for layers to dry? Thank you for your lovely videos and work
If you watch previous videos, I mention this often. Dry time depends on weather, especially heat and wind. But usually to keep working, I let something dry overnight and am good to go. I also work on many things at the same time, and really like working on very dry surfaces, so sometimes it'll be a week or so before I go back in.
Bonjour Madame.
Looks Stunning🎉❤‼️ it reminds me of Monets waterlillies👌🏻💐. Thank You so Much Andrea Wedell. Toom@CapeTown

Thanks so much Debra ! So happy to hear that
The painting reminds me of those Victorian paintings of roses. Very nice!
I absolutely Love, this tutorial. Thank You, Ms. Andrea.

Thank you for sharing. I am wondering if cold wax consider as lean medium although it takes days to dry? And is it ok to use galkyde gel over it?

@@artistspace Thank you, Andrea! Also, your videos are the best I've come across. Thank you for all you do.

What was the brown liquid you drop to the colour please? Thx!
I see a duck in the painting. Was that intentional? I love it!
Nope, not intentional
Hi Andrea,
I’m enjoying your videos very much.
Will you offer cold wax painting classes this fall? (Fall 2021)
Hope so!
Hi Pam, so glad you're enrolled for the online class starting October 9th !
@@artistspace I am so looking forward to it!
I enjoyed your video. So is it not necessary to apply clear gesso over the acrylic before applying cold wax?
Not at all

do you prime the paper with anything; and what is theoint of cold wax
Nope don’t prime the paper with anything. Cold wax is great for glazing and building very interesting texture. Hope that helps
Do you know when PT 3 will be available?
There's no part three...
where did you get the panel with the removable frame? did buy together as a set or is the frame separate?
To my eye, you’re working lean over fat, which goes against the norm. Can you comment on that?
Yes it does, and I do it anyway :)
@@artistspace haha! I quite like it if things crack!
