For anyone wondering, HonMono is the best Japanese SC2 player. He's been around for a long time, but never broke through into the pro scene. I'm a huge fan, and I can't wait to see how this turns out. Rogue is the clear favorite, but since Rogue is playing BW zerg, I'm betting on our Terran hero. GLHF!
As far as I know, honmono is a Korean player living in Japan.
I will second the comment about being worried there would be no more content of SC1 vs SC2. I watch every one of your videos but these have brought some life into me. I do not care if its exactly balanced, I just love it

Actually Winter, Hellbats do only splash damage, so they are a good counter to Dark Swarm.
But really, I missed the Ghosts in that first game.
Ghosts are soooo broken in SC2 it’s easily the hard counter to defilers. I mean I suppose you can try to out range the snipe and go lurker hydra ling with lots of plague and dark swarms.
Rogues defiler play was pathetic sadly so I’m not sure the Terran needed the ghosts what he needed was a counter to the mutas maybe libs maybe Vikings? If they try to dive on either target some widow mines.

BW cracklings are on a different level of deadliness. They rip through everything so fast XD The BW Ultras on the other hand look much scarier but are not very good. Also, BW Marines sound so much better ngl. Their gun shots sound much more metallic than sc2 Marines and their stim sounds are amazing. Overall, I find that the unit designs and audio in BW are much better than sc2 ones.
Don't forget about the sound of BW missile turrets!
I agree with nearly all of the sounds, but i feel like SC2 improved the design of many units, ESPECIALLY Siege Tanks. God they looked awful in BW, even though they sounded so cool! Other units ended up looking worse (like Carriers). Overall I give both games a tie on unit design.

Legit useful to rush to caster tech to ensure decent counterplay, like vipers, ravens, etc
Yeah he kept forgetting to build Scarabs. Clearly it is not an Autocast feature, or he'd have simply enabled it. They likely left it like that to give the BW Protoss more to do, as they rely less on casters and ability micro than the SC2 Protoss.
@@ZC.Andrew The scarabs were built automatically with autocast feature but they changed it to manual just in the previous patch! But they allowed it so that you can still build scarabs while reaver is in the shuttle.
@@markpayton3895 In the shuttle? Damn that's pretty cool. That rewards good reaver/shuttle micro without being "too easy." I love it.
I find myself wanting to watch Evo more than normal SC 2 lately.

U-238 shells upgrade gives marines shells made from uranium-238 or depleted uranium.

Attack number with sword and yellow circle. HP number with red drop. An easy example is Die Mauer - The Wall with only 2 attack but having 6 HP

I just watched Dark vs. TY last night and wondered why there hadn't been more SC1 vs. SC2 casts. Glad to see this pop up the next day! I know nothing about Brood War... maybe you could do a video explaining the basics of the SC1 units for people like me? I'm sure that already exists ad nauseum other places but I don't watch other SC2 content because - well, Winter.
Terran
Marine: basically the same but less HP, better Stim.
Medic: What makes BW bio so powerful, very early healing
Firebat: Bio Hell at, but has Stim
Ghost: Glass unit that's only good for Nukes or Lockdown, which stuns any mechanical unit for 30 seconds.
Vulture: Similar in role to Hellion, but single target. their Thing is dropping 3 mines per unit, which targets grounded enemies, detects cloaked
Siege Tank: Basically the same but lower supply, slightly cheaper, lower RoF
Goliath: Anti air specialist but can also shoot ground units.
Wraith: Fragile harass, can cloak. Does more AA damage than AG damage.
Valkyrie: Anti "fighter" type splash
Battle cruiser: Yamato, but a much slower unit.
science vessel: caster and detector, irradiate (250 dmg to biological units DoT AoE), EMP (removes all shield and energy in AoE), D Matrix (gives unit 200 hp shield)
Dropship: slowish transport
Protoss
Zealot: More HP, can't charge
Dragoon: Stalker, bet more HP, slightly more damage and range, worse mobility.
HT: Storm, can merge into Archon.
DT: Invisible, turns into Dark Archon
Archon: Basically the same but Armored instead of Unarmored, makes it worse against Marauders, etc
Dark Archon: Mind control, Maelstrom (stuns biological units for like 9 seconds), Feedback
Reaver: Disruptor, slower but much higher RoF.
Shuttle: Transport
Observer: it observes
Scout: AA generalist flying unit that costs too much, AG is very bad.
Corsair: Anti "fighter" splash unit
Arbiter: Cloaks, Recall, Stasis
Carrier: About the same
Zerg
Zergling: basically the same but higher dps
Hydralisk: Hatch tech, but more fragile and less damage. Their thing is being 1 supply and cheap.
Mutalisk: same but no super Regen, doesn't work very well, transforms into Guardian or Devourer
Scourge: single target suicide anti air. Very cheap.
Queen: flying castor, Ensnare (slow), Parasite (perma vision around unit), infest command center to make infested Terrans that blow up (buggy)
Guardian: worse Brood Lord
Devourer: debuffs armor of air units, slow, bad dps
Defiler: best caster in the game. Consume (eats unit for energy), Plague (300 damage or until 1 HP), Dark Swarm (all single target ranged ground attacks miss, only splash and spells work)
Overlord: combined supply, transport (with upgrade), and detector (all the time)

I'm STILL waiting for one of these pro players to realize that 1 dropship and 4 firebats with stim can destroy a mineral line in 4 seconds

Man I really want to see a redesigned OG and BW campaigns. I know there already was a project that did that, but it would be nice to have a full redesign of missions and units.
Cracklings, Reavers, Arbiters, and Science Vessels are the most annoying SC1 units to deal with

My guess is yes.
Technically yes but of much lesser impact because SC2 doesn't support an extra 200 supply per mind control.
With the SC2 casting, Ghosts with lockdown will be as well. If Interference matrix was considered powerful, lockdown will be broken considering how cheap SC1 ghosts are.

@@cataliniancu5318 They are definitely more deadly, but they are also way more fragile. They cost quite a bit of gas for how much HP they have, which can easily be reduced to 0 from any kind of splash damage. They're also not particularly fast either.
Oh man, Brood War Mutas were just SO much better. Every time I see the difference in action, it blows me away.

It's not supposed to be exactly the same, it would be very unfair. Smart casting, no selection limit, select multiple buildings, there are many control improvements. Without those, SC1 races would just get crushed.
