Ya those kind of figures are hard to swallow BUT if you are REALLY REALLY going to do it all correctly the first time. Like my father told me when I was younger he said “ people never have time to do it right BUT they always have time to do it over “ .that has stuck with me my whole life an it is very true . Thanks keep it coming when possible. THANKS
Here in NC also...Will be firing up my new wax dipper this week and I dropped the cash because I hate to paint and love the looks of wood. I wonder what the difference in insulation value is with wax vs the increased temperatures with the dark color of the dipped hives. Keep rocking it, your videos are inspirational! Hope you didnt catch too much of those storms that went through earlier.
Thank you for this information and I enjoy all of your videos. I’m a sideliner and will have a custom wax melter built in the next couple weeks. I have about 20 brand new deep boxes that are already painted and was wondering if you could speak to if I should try dipping them and if the paint would come off during the dipping process?
I run around 70 colonies at this point in Wisconsin and that jump from 15 to 70 was a big one but after about a decade most of my equipment is basically on round two. So after deliberation I decided to put together the funds to get a wax dipping tank. It was expensive and it hurt but not having to replace or try and repaint boxes/pallets for a decade plus is worth it, the tank is going to pay for itself in short order. Buy once cry once type of deal.
I have nucs built from pallet wood painted with opps paint from lowes that have held up well. Also bought 5 vevor wax deeped hives I've yet to see but were cheep less than 200 for 2 brood 2 med and frames and all other goodies. But I only run 30 + hives

If they’re already painted do not dip them

That’s what I say!!!
Oil based primer for a good paint base.
Great point!
I have a question: Will a good quality plywood last as long as pure wood...say both are properly wax dipped?
Nope. The glue is the issue. Either use HDO plywood (used for concrete) or solid wood
@@Ashby_Farms_NC thanks
@@jashuabat1785 Youre welcome!
Babe, this is an incredibly flattering angle for you.
Thanks baby!
Hope the wax deeped works for you and dont know what vevor usees for wax vu do know it is cheaper than mann lake and painting
Not sure what you mean here
Bought some vevor hives but don't know how the wax deep they say will work. Cheap so trying
Your wife told you that you were gonna hurt your back a few videos ago. Looks like she was right. Heal up if you are hurting!
Lol she wasn’t wrong! I’m just not saying she was right😂😂😂
Alot got to do with the wood you are using for your hives??? Some better than others
