Dedicated to firefighters across the world, volunteers and careers! Money is not the root of why anyone fights fire. It's the character and bravery that each carry within that make them do what they do.

My boyfriend is a volunteer firefighter, and he makes me so proud every single day. I had no up close and personal experience with emergency responders until the day I met him and I can easily say that standing by and letting the love of my life run off at the sound of a pager, knowing that. He may not come home, is the hardest thing I have to do but I do it because I know what firefighting means to him, it's a part of who he is. During every call, I send him away with an I love and a be safe and send yet another pray up that he'll come home safe. Since being with him I've become a part of a community of brothers and sisters willing to put their lives on the line for others, it's a beautiful thing that I will never truly understand but I can tell you that to love a firefighter is the greatest gift I could have been given, he's my hero every single day. Thank you to all those who serve, you are truly God sent individuals, stay safe out there on every call and come home there are people who need you!!
My father and I were firefighters for the same fire company. Although, he left the company back in early 2013 and I joined back in late February. It's great knowing that you are part of the brotherhood.

Granddaughter of a 30 plus year firefighter from Sydney Nova Scotia Canada, who raised 4 children alone as a single father after his wife left when his youngest was 5 years old, this makes me think of him he retired as Captain in 1994 and died in 2005, I don't remember him to well because I was only 7, but my father (his second youngest) always tells us stories about him, like one night there was a fire in a house and a (heavier)woman was trapped on the second floor and he told her to jump and that he would catch her and he did, for years after she would send him letters, this is how I choose to remember him, the strong single father that would do anything to save anyone no matter the risk to him self, not the sick older man that I remember, but the one from my fathers stories. RIP Papa.

Well lets see there is Hazmat scenes, car crashes, swift water rescues, air plane crashes, medical calls, drownings, boat crashes, terrorist attacks so NO that is not all that we do
Oh is that why we also see shootings and stabbing calls plus a whole shit load of other calls on top of that and lets see we climb on top of roofs during the winter months when a lot of you roofers are inside keeping warm

This hits hard! Being a volunteer firefighter! I just had so far the worst call I have been on! And it upset and my mom cause I was a little close to the blaze! 😭😭 I have had people tell me “you don’t want to be a firefighter. They don’t get paid enough.” My response?? My payment only requires the victims I save walking around happy, healthy and alive. You can’t put a price on a life! Firefighters saved my life after I rolled my Jeep. If it were not for them I would not be accomplishing my dream of helping people

+ssgt Parsons Juniors are ages 14-17. "air up" **Pack up**. As a Junior you can enter a building on a call. But only for over hall and a Chief must deem the building structurally sound before you enter.(PA State laws)
