    I love the little deadpan commentary nuggets like, “I’ll be using beads and whatever other junk I have” (paraphrasing) and the one about the glue @6:50 and @8:04😂

    Tip: while most fabrics aren’t very pliable in small scale, silk is😊. A thrift store scarf may be the way to go for your future accessories 👍

    The foil under the bedspread is so smart! I've made a 1:144 scale dollhouse too and it's funny how many things we did similarly and differently. For the headboard and footboard, I used a soda tab. Cut off the bottom part of the tab that connects to the can and it's a pretty close approximation of an old style metal bed. I used a dryer sheet to make gossamer curtains around the bed posts. For the light fixtures (that's the only thing I think your house needs left) I cut out the dimples from a McDonald's drink lid. You know how it can be used to mark if the drink is diet, coke, or whatever. The shapes are so pretty, I just painted them silver.

    You've saved me so much time and insanity by showing how tiny scale prints and writing do not have to be anything but impressions. Perfume bottles in particular vex me, but it makes sense to just suggest the words rather than try to write stuff.

      Absolutely! If you give the impression of something, the human brain fills in the details. We don't need to drive ourselves crazy trying to replicate every little thing.

I do have a kit for a 1:144 dollhouse to go inside one of my 1:12 dollhouses, and I have a couch, chair and table already, but I love the use of the beads and flocking for the plants. My brain hurts at how tiny it is. My eyes would hurt in real life. Why is it that at this scale the ceilings look higher, and the rooms seem to hold so much more furniture? King size bed would take up most of a 1:12 scale room. Are these rooms just larger?

    • @queencityminis
      @queencityminis  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, the rooms are larger. The back wall is the equivalent of 18' wide in full size. I modified the original dollhouse kit which had 2 floors and an attic. I eliminated a floor and opted for vaulted ceilings instead. Good thing too because it's hard enough to film inside the house!
      I'm having a lot of fun with this little house.

      @@queencityminis oh ok, that makes sense then. There's a channel i watch at times he's making tiny houses on trailers for people. The smallest is 8 x 16 feet, has a bathroom with shower, small kitchen counter, and space for a bed or a couch . I don't think that would be good for much more than a BnB rental. The kitchen had a sink, but no stove or oven, I asked how do people cook. I think they use like an instapot or slow cooker or something. But I like to actually cook, and bake.
