    Good stuff Deo! As a DIY mechanic, I would love to know the theory behind back-probing the alternator connector. For future videos involving electrical components, my wish would be to see electrical diagrams and understand your thought process and the why behind your diagnostic approach.

    Good job testing the Alternator control wires. I met a car where tge customer replaced the battery and then alternator by a mechanic but it was really a faulty $2,000 ECM not sending control power output to the alternator😢.

    I previously owned a 2010 RAV4 and in the 12 years that I owned it, besides maintenance every 5k miles, I replaced the alternator and rear wheel bearings. I sold it in good running condition with about 160,000 miles. The alternator is easy to replace.

    Great video Deo. That alternator, although brand new, is a product of China. It began it's life in China and is made totally from Chinese materials. I'd rather install a Duralast Premium Remanufactured alternator. At least it is an original part that has new bearings, brushes and anything else that normally wears out installed in it. It comes with a lifetime limited warranty that is good until you no longer own the vehicle. I had one in my Chevy for about 9 years with no problems.

    You should charge the battery
    fully before starting the engine after replacing the alternator .
    You dont want to stress the alternator by making it charge a fully discharged battery.

    Usually, it's straightforward testing for Alternator if it is functioning ,battery reading ideal should be 12.40 Amp's and after starting the engine the reading should jump to 13.50 to 14.50 Amp's this confirming the Alternator is working fine and if the reading still 12.40 Amp's is conforming that the Alternator is not functioning and Alternator must be replaced [C$165+tax] same problem happened with me on Toyota Matrix 2010 ,power steering was jammed.

  • @Hybriddiag
    @Hybriddiag Місяць тому +1

    These rav4 and vanguard with 2AZ engine are nasty on burning alternators you need to add more engine grounds and add one ground to gear box directly from negative terminal it will solve this issue permanently

    • @KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair
      @KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair  Місяць тому +1

      The AD blocker is supplied FREE by Google Chrome and other vendors... and I have the RIGHT to use it. Obviously, I must not be the ONLY ONE that finds the incessant ads annoying, or Chrome and other platforms wouldn't be supplying the extensions!
      It would be totally different if I were hacking You Tube to avoid them.
      Wouldn't mine them so much but they go overboard with them popping up in the middle of a video!
      You Tube gets paid anyway, by their advertisers, to pay it's content creators: and 14 dollars month (or 139 dollars a year) just to avoid being barraged by repeated annoying ads is just another expense that many Americans have to worry about: just to get the (sometimes crucial) information they need to navigate these perilous times!
      What they're doing is restricting a person's right to information: a right that was previously not infringed upon on by You Tube... and is a VIOLATION of the FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT.
      This hurts the content creators as well,...as their content won't reach it's desired audience a won't get paid for content 'likes and subcriptions that no one can watch! !
