Talked to you at the ramp that day while we were in rain delay after that they were on fire, loved watching them charge the bait waking from 3 feet away. Been fishing the Devils horse on Gville since the 70's with my old man. Miss fishing with him
I have a whole box of just devils horses and prop baits. They definitely catch fish. Have for decades. I’m 56 and remember my dad and papaw fishing these when I was a kid that’s where I picked it up. Love your content sir but love the bogster better. Best fishing partner on UA-cam hands down. BOG!!!!!
Hey Mike, great video. You know, years ago there was a guy here in Florida that only fished with a Devil's Horse. He fished it year-round and won a lot of bass tournaments. It's a proven, deadly bait. Your tips make it and all prop baits even deadlier.
Put 5 or 6 foot of fluorocarbon on thee end of the braid. Maybe 15 or 20 pound flour. Use a crazy Alberto knot. Tbe knot is smooth on the guides, 100 % strong and easy to tie. The flour is stiff enough to stop tangles and gives a bit if stretch to reduce hook pull outs too.
I used to fish a Devil's Horse a bunch when I was growing up but haven't in a long time. I did just pick one up from my local tackle shop recently though since I'd seen some other folks also talking about it being a great spring topwater. Definitely going to be throwing it when I go out this evening. Thanks for the tips on how to fish it!
Just wanted to follow up and thank you for helping me have my best outing of the spring so far. Went out this evening with the Devil's Horse and used your technique. Caught 6 (4 keeper size, 2 dinks) and had another jump off right at the bank, plus a couple other blowups that I missed. Two of the bass were bedding ones that I've tried to catch three previous days but weren't interested in anything else I threw at them. The Devil's Horse sure pissed 'em off though 😁. The biggest one actually thumped it pretty hard, but all the others subtly slurped it down while it was on the pause. I rarely get on a topwater bite like that on my lake, it was so much fun. Thanks again for sharing your technique!
Great tie tips. I just bought a few YoZuris w only back props because of the problem. But I’d rather throw the classic 2 props. Tried a snap but not enuff, I’m gonna do the WD40 w stopper trick thx my friend as always for the good werd 😎oh yeah, like u say, I never get a bite working em fast it takes lotsa discipline 🤬
I love watching your videos no matter where you're fishin. Will you be doing some Florida fishing soon? Maybe Lake Apopka or down in Sebring? It's almost Summertime here, 89-95 degree days already! Time for you to bring out that hibiscus 🌺 ball cap of yours! love that too!😃
Bro that's so funny you're like a fourth person to ask me they're actually the super cheap shoes off of Amazon that cost me twenty-five bucks but they are so comfortable
Bro do you have problems with the guides on that rod... On mine I keep rod sleeves on all of my rodes just to protect the inserts as much as I can but every time I take my rod sleeve off whether I put it on or leave it off those guides bend back and forth and it scares the hell out of me because one day I'm afraid one of them are going to break off and it's only on the rave rod!! Someone told me to take some nail polish, like the clear kind or some gel super glue with a really really small paintbrush and make loops around where the guide inserts into the rod and that it'll make it stiffer but I haven't tried that trick yet.. do you know anything about that?. #BOGYBOG!!! #bogsthebestpartner .. now let's go chase these big ass spots bro. Pencil in a day n I'll pay.. jesus u can't beat that deal! Holla bolla stay safe

Instead of using the bobber stops and clip would a monofilament leader work?

Thank you sir I will be trying it
I’ve been topwater fishing 1-1/2 to 2oz wakes and red fins and have had a ball. I also have smaller wakes that have been getting blasted.
I love how long u wait to lean into them after they bite. I hope ppl were paying attention to that!
