  • Peter Gammons interviews Alex Rodriguez (A-Fraud) on his steroid usage while playing for the Texas Rangers. This was a very interesting piece that kept my eyes glued to the televison.
All of the video is owned by ESPN and parent companies ABC and Disney.

Interviewer: A-Rod what color is the sky today?
A-Rod: See that's the thing about the Earth and space, space is so dark and the lighting of the sun and the stars beaming into and reflecting off the atmosphere gives it a specific kind of color. And for that I am deeply regretful, I was young, naive, and stupid, and just sorry to everyone in the name of science.
Basically how he answered all his questions.

Well at least he came clean. Many players still haven't or get pissed off when interviewers even go into their PED or suspected PED usage. I still say that if you inducted Bud Selig in the Hall of Fame, whose tenure was full of PED usage and he was aware of it, why are you keeping guys like ARod out? There is a way to acknowledge their achievements while also putting an asterisk next to their name about their use of PED's.

I'm a diehard Red Sox fan, and I have 100% more respect for Alex than Roger Clemens. A real man stands to face the music while others run for cover. Arod would have put up the same #'s as he always had before/after seasons 2001-2003. For those whom think players who used PEDS do not belong in the Hall of Fame, then I guess all those players already in whom took amphetamine throughout the 60's, 70's, and cocaine throughout the 80's, they should not be allowed in as well. No substance acts as a magic potion, allowing for an even more supernatural ability to hit a round ball with a round bat in a timeframe less than the blink of an eye.

    • @notoriouseagle1074

Roger Clemens was Lance Armstrong and Marrion Jones combined. He had the arrogance of Armstrong with the audacity and nerve that both of them had.

I respect your point about amphetamine in earlier eras, but you have to actually cite the great players who took them. You can't generalize when you are comparing to a player like A-Rod who got caught red-handed. I don't think anyone is saying the PEDs allowed him to become a more competent hitter. However, the PEDs he took, primobolan, adds muscle mass (power numbers went from 40 homers to 50) and allowed him to recover after workouts meaning he could work out more consistently and harder-I'm guessing the same result as your alluding to with amphetamine. But he didn't take it because it wouldn't help him. He was a great player before steroids. But wasn't hitting 50 home runs, the same way Bonds never hit 50 home runs before steroids, let alone 70.

    • @OutlookPositive

Then the second he says where and who he got it from you and everyone would call him a rat. It’s a no win situation for him. He did more than all the other players and publicly admitted to using.

Which baseball player has never used performance products from GNC, amway, centrum or any kind of stuff to better perform? Why should we think that he used steroids? A rod you're the best and some people just do not want to accept the fact that you will become the best ever baseball player in all history of the MLB. There is not need to be sorry, you haven't done anything wrong. Why we don't see this pressure on some other sports?

only reason he did this was because he was told by his Public relations team that the best way to get it over with is apologize. He and many other professional athletes use roids and there is no way to know how long he used them and how much it helped him ,bottom line is he is a cheater and full of shit ,The play where he smacked the ball out of Arroyos glove in 2004 ALCS against red Sox is what I will remember him for , win at all costs ,lie ,cheat ,steal .

I dont understand why Canseco is being black balled cuz he was honest about everything & all these other olayers still lie & going around questions that are asked...like who introduced you to PEDs
Canseco shud be given a job as a hitting coach cuz he was honest about everything. From when to where to why & HOW..

That was the best era in baseball . I love baseball, but is a boring sport , some great moments but in 3.5 hours you have less than 20 minutes Of real action. Sports are entertaiment. Only in contact sports I think different.

He admitted to being young. He admitted to being naive and trusting others. He admitted to not asking enough questions about what he was taking. He admitted that he was lying to himself, so how could he be blamed for unknowingly lying to Katie Couric? Man, the poor guy - I feel so sorry for him. How much more does he need to admit? Um, maybe to lying to the world...

Don't kid yourself, he has actually been using steroids ever since he was a Junior in high school. He put on over 25 pounds of muscle from his Sophomore to Junior seasons. He went from being a bad baseball player, barely averaging .200 to literally the best player in the country. Jose Canseco said he met ARod in high school and says he was likely on steroids, Rodriguez could lift just as much as Canseco back then. There were rumblings of his steroid use in his Seattle days. This guy probably wouldn't even be in the majors if it weren't for the juice.

He took money , millions of dollars, under false pretenses. He is as big a liar as Pete Rose. Arod is a selfish human being ! He , like Bonds, McGwire, Palmeiro, Sosa, Clemens, and countless others collected salaries paid for by the fans. Apologies are just words.

you forgot the past tense there buddy. the only thing shitrod does now is juice up, get injured, and collect money. if the yankees are lucky, hel actually play, where hel hit a decent .260 - .270, and then become a useless statue in the post season.
