Both awnsers are correct, You don't need to go drama school or any acting school to be a good actor but in other hand it's very beneficial to learn the different phases and skills of acting. All that matters is to have passion for it, without it, someone will not get very far in this profession, acting school or not.
Like with any craft, you don't need extravagant training, you don't _need_ to go to culinary school to make great food, but it helps to get foundations and knowledge and _PRACTICE._ Same with woodworking, same with painting. Having a good teacher can send you far, but having a bad teacher can be so scarring.
"When you don't have inspiration or you're not inspired by something at least you have a craft that you can fall back on" Thanks TOM. I needed that. Thanks to you too for making this video.
Even though I’m sure I’ll never act, it makes me happy to know that my favourite actors are encouraging about how you want to go about acting if it’s what you want 🙂
John Lithgow went to drama school, is a shakesperian actor and gave one of the best performances of this decade playing Churchill. Study acting is *important*.
Everything is available on internet. My problem is we don't have acting schools here so i practice monologues from different movies, i try to write my own monologues and i watch videos regarding acting. Just study about acting and practice it. Thats all it takes. Practice practice and practice
Education and learning are not the same. I think it depends on the person but if you really want to be an actor you'll be growing as one and then you'll be prepare to decide what is better for you
You have to love it which, therefore incites the curiously that makes you embody the craft. Also patience and being able to take rejection for years is crucial. Sounds depressing when put like that but for me this is whats required.
Drama school isn’t necessary, with the world of online acting classes and courses it’s easy to learn about the pros and cons of the industry without really needing to pay, I’d recommend you spend a year learning off these before you go looking for work, it looks good on your resume when looking for an agent but if you have a list of consistent credits of work that’s a good sign for the agency that you are putting in the effort with little acting training. A killer reel and headshot is also a great thing to have, if those look amazing then an agency might be happy to take a chance with you just with that and some work credits. It could take a few years to find an agent who would love to represent you so over those years if you have the money to attend an acting workshop I recommend it just to pad your resume. Some people work first then train Some work constantly and don’t train. Some people learn on the job. An agency won’t sign you without work experience so you’ll have plenty of time to learn on the job.
Well I live in uae and I want to make it to Hollywood in a year when I graduate high school Imma hopefully join a film school in Canada or USA and my journey continues from there just have belief in urself
so many ways! you can certainly read plays and books on acting. You can also go to a drama program fulltime or part time. I had already been to college and fashion school when I was 25 and finally allowed myself permission to want to be an actor. So my study has come from different classes here and there. But most recently with one particular teacher. I took scene study with her clas for 3 years on and off and took a two year break to focus on musical theater (singing) and now im studying with her again. On Zoom! it's wild.
For me personally, school is not necessary, but learning is. Learning will continue forever =)
Perfect answer !
I like your vids, I hope you make it bro👍🏼🫂
@@JustinJoseph4952 Thank you! =) I hope so too, but even if not I will enjoy the fun journey. Cheers!

@@Woodsaras I’ve done no acting school and am getting cast in movies. So…
Note that lots of the people in this video are also in the other video about saying ‘no’.

@@angelg6565 what you said technically means the answer is _no._ it's not *_necessary_* even if its beneficial
I'm with Viggo. School is not absolutely necessary but learn learn learn any chance you get anyway you can.

Can a person from nepal get into hollywood?
Yep but it's a long shot and nearly impossible.
For sure it is, as long as you make sure you get experience on the place that you are.
