The the car itch started and you beat the hell out of our hands. You joined the military, its not like basic was easy on me. Then we wake up in the pouring rain in the middle of a jungle being shot at. Cuts, bruises, stitches and a broken foot holy shit you beat the hell out of me. Then I get out come home and bought a truck😂😂😂 and spent the next 50+ years bouncing around eating bad food and getting no rest. Always throwing heavy chains and binders. Smashing fingers, and busting up everything. Then this old body just said slow down asshole or I'm going to shut everything down. So I got out and retired. Pneumonia, by pass, lung transplant, Covid, now waiting for the first of 2 total shoulder replacements. 16 trips to the hospital where I stayed more then 5 days. Talk about don't let the Old Men In, I'm beginning to think he's here. The only thing I can say is I'm not as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I ever was. I keep fighting the old bastard. If the weather is good I'll take my 64 Dodge out and get into her grab some gears and burn some rubber. That chases the old man. Sometimes I go to where we used to race as kids and drive through. Good memories.
When did I "let the old man in"? Wish I didnt let myself GET OLD, sadly, health problems kicked me hard at an early age of 50. God and Jesus please save me.
At 67 I do not remember getting old. I am called a senior citizen. I am on Medicare. My bones hurt. Folks I went to school are dying. Mom, Dad, Sister and Brother are gone When did all this happen?
After wasting the first 28 years (17 1/2 years in a dozen prisons) I met a prison school teacher who told me God could change my life. He did, hers too...we've been married 44 years, 3 kids, 6 grandchildren. At 80 and 77 we are experiencing that aging process and praising God as we go on.
At 88 I,m still going strong thanks to the blessings I have received from God. I use to run from hell to breakfast and back. Thanks to my savior Jesus, I,m in good heath and life couldn’t,t be better!
Brother, every day is golden, we've got to choose to see thru the bad times for what they truly are... they're just a stepping stone along our way to help polish us up!!! I'm only 44 years old but after my own "father" tried to murder me on 3 different occasions, my body feels like I've been around for centuries... I feel I had to grow up way too soon and protect the ones around me, including my brothers, sisters and my Mother... I, like you, hope and pray I see the gates of Heaven, I've suffered enough Hell here for 10 life times... God Bless you all!!!
I'm 67 , parents are gone ,two brothers have passed , just lost my wife to brain cancer ,short six months of 25 years. Getting old is not for the faint

You are so right. I'll be 80 next year and this says it all. Where did the time go? I'm thankful I lived my life in my 30's and 40's, traveled the world and experienced it all. I sure don't have the energy to do that now!
There's a new life in eternity for those of us who know JESUS. We'll get a new body. And be young again. The whole purpose of being on this Earth Is to serve & and know CHRIST. HE will make all things new and I love HIM ❤
I'm reading the comments and listening to this song. Lots of thoughts and emotions going through my mind. Getting old surely isn't easy but looking back at my life it's been good. Could complain but life's too short, I'm thankful I've gotten this far. I'm 68 years old and ask God to continue blessings me and thank him for all he's done for me and my family. Bless all of you, remember the good times and keep moving forward. 🙏🏼 ❤

73 now. Am known by the few left as the man who lived the free est of anyone that they knew. Raced the hotrods loved the pick- ups, chased the beautiful Glorious Unreplaceable Women. Never passed a hungry person without feedingvthem. Was known never pass a child in need. Last 3 days active UEMC cost me 9 months 21 days in Military Hospital. Took three years to walk again Said I would never walk again. Went out and rode a Bull in celebration when i threw crutches away and NEVER Complained because I knew I always volunteered. Smoking a hand rolled cigarette and smiling at the memories. Bless ya all
I’ll be 70 in December, I want to be like you and ignore my age and enjoy every day! I love the saying “I don’t know how to act my age, I’ve never been this old before..
I'm 66 with Parkinsons. The excruciating pain and lost memories have pushed me much further ahead than I should be. But as Toby Keith asked/sung, "how old would you be if you didn't know the day you were born?"
You keep hanging on! PD is a close and evil presence in my life. We are fighting it kicking and screaming also. Sending a prayer up for you if that's OK.
I'm going on 59 still young I say so but this song tells it all I used to have it all decades ago I was well known I had it all now I'm just living life waiting for my day to come I have never feared death when the big man upstairs calls me I'll go with open arms and thank God for everyday he gave me everything is behind me now
No one is OLD. That's the system that wants us old and treats us old so they can remove us out of the system. Disconnect from everything and just live your life as you please and guess what? You'll live forever and be healthy.

Praise God and thank him everyday for his mercy and grace. Open your eyes before its too late. Love this song.
I was just thinking about this very thing yesterday, what the happened to the time! We're did it all go. How In the hell did I get to be this old. And what has happened to our country and the way it used to be! There's a new pandemic in America, mental disease!

I just realized today that God does give us a second chance through our Grandchildren to be not so young and dumb as we were while raising our children.❤

I'm on the back side of 44 (still considered a young man by today's standards-I guess). For some reason even before my teenage years I was always very aware of how short life was-how precious our time is. That being said, I haven't been very good at living in the moment or appreciating experiences while in them. My son just turned 18 and in ways I've tried to express how fleeting his young man years are. I don't think he gets it... I wouldn't have either had someone tried to tell me when I was his age. I guess that's a lesson only time can teach a man. Haven't had a song hit me like this since "Like a Rock". This is a damn good tune! Glad it found me....
44? Life changes. Go camping where you can hear the wind pass threw the pines, hear a creek pass by. Smell the pine wood bury in the fire, hear the sap explosion, and smile at the memories of friends from grade w goil you have forgotten. Learn to shoot better, learn to reload. Drink a bit less, try rolling your own tobacco occasionally if you smoke. Collect old pictures of family, especially those you don't know, and remember you have one hell of a story. Everyone who has lived to 44 knows a lot more than when they were 8. Iam 73

If the weather is good I'll take my 64 Dodge out and get into her grab some gears and burn some rubber. That chases the old man. Sometimes I go to where we used to race as kids and drive through. Good memories.
Like a thief in the night
When did I "let the old man in"? Wish I didnt let myself GET OLD, sadly, health problems kicked me hard at an early age of 50. God and Jesus please save me.
I like thjs tk
At 67 I do not remember getting old. I am called a senior citizen. I am on Medicare. My bones hurt. Folks I went to school are dying. Mom, Dad, Sister and Brother are gone When did all this happen?
I'm in the same boat life's hard. Live life to the fullest you only get one
🫂
Honestly that's the sad part of getting old. You watch everyone you love pass on. But hopefully there are you're family to help ease your mind
Same here..63 in a few months.. I'm young at heart and Soul..but this suit.. damn.. 😢
I feel your pain baby. I'm 57 and all of my grandparents,
and both parents have passed on. And I'm currently living in a nursing home.
Good luck 👍 God bless you both he changed my life to I've been clean from herion and cocaine 3 yrs after 30 yrs using
Stay Strong in the Lord God Bless you 🙏
At 88 I,m still going strong thanks to the blessings I have received from God. I use to run from hell to breakfast and back. Thanks to my savior Jesus, I,m in good heath and life couldn’t,t be better!

I'm 77yrs old and I heard about the golden years and haven't seen any yet but I'll have my golden years throughout eternity when I get to Heaven AMEN!
I'm going to turn 76 soon and the only Golden things I'v found are those running down my leg.
Same, God bless you
Brother, every day is golden, we've got to choose to see thru the bad times for what they truly are... they're just a stepping stone along our way to help polish us up!!!
God Bless you
I meant hell
Be 80 in January, am blessed to be here , give the Lord all the credit! Either get old our die young🥴

Turned 70 in November. I've been to alot of funerals. I thank God for each day.
I have been to many funerals. Gets harder as I realize my mortality. God keeps us here for a reason.

For we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, but further clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by life.
I'm 80, and this says it all. But it was worth it. I love life.. live for today and thank the lord for all !!!
Thank you
You are so right. I'll be 80 next year and this says it all. Where did the time go? I'm thankful I lived my life in my 30's and 40's, traveled the world and experienced it all. I sure don't have the energy to do that now!

The greatest song I have ever heard at 78 years old ! This song says it All for the Boomers who are left to face this World at War!!!🇨🇦😰
I agree great song, same age, I thought time slowed down as you got older, not so.

I'm 66 with Parkinsons. The excruciating pain and lost memories have pushed me much further ahead than I should be. But as Toby Keith asked/sung, "how old would you be if you didn't know the day you were born?"

No one is OLD. That's the system that wants us old and treats us old so they can remove us out of the system. Disconnect from everything and just live your life as you please and guess what? You'll live forever and be healthy.
Yes 💯.

Yeah I can relate to this song. On the back of the door in my attic I began to write on the back of the door at 15 things about my life and what's goin on. Every few years I'd write something. I'm 67 and still writing. I stood there and read the whole thing I thought to myself where did the time go.
I just turned 40 this past September, and I feel middle aged due to today's circumstances all around. I manage plenty, and yet I feel like there's not enough time to dedicate to my daughters of 7 and 10 years of age. Where does time go. Me carrying my babies feels like just yesterday. We're here for a short stint, and good music makes it worth stepping out that door every morning, 7days a week🔊🔊🎶🙏🎶

Ditto, Like A Rock.
Iam 73
