I often wish that after a major version update that Minecraft could refresh blocks within chunks that have previously been loaded but not modified, similar to how Mojang did this during Cliffs and Cavess when they increased the build depth. This would allow us to play our worlds without trimming and pruning IF we have explored our world, but only modified the over world with portals and some mining and resource gathering. Sometimes I just want to refresh only what has changed not regenerate the bulk of my world.
I've always thought that they should introduce a feature where if you only spend a small amount of time in a chunk it shouldn't save, so like if you just fly by one and never modify it it shouldn't save, but if you do it saves it and the surrounding chunks up to simulation distance
@@rubylikessonic2You can do this manually using filters in MCASelector on PC. You can filter by time spent in chunks and several other criteria. You can also use the Y-coordinate / height slider to view slices of the chunks, to check the underground at all levels for mines or other builds.

Just a tip for those who don't have access to a PC but do have a smart phone, you can use a windows emulator like winlator, I used it to run foxynotail's trimmer and it worked great, it doesn't have as selective trimming as this, but it's good for large trimming outside of certain radius, don't know if it will read the worlds inside of minecraft this way or not, so you might have to use some other tool to export it and extract that file to an empty folder to use in the trimmer and then compress back to a world file, but it's not too hard

In order to use Structura, I had to use Amulet (which thankfully I already had set up). Wonder if this works on my modded forge 1.19.2 server, hopefully it will cuz it's just reading and deleting the world information. like how I can easily just delete the nether folder to reset the nether without this application tool.
Wasd for navigation in chunk menu, scroll up down make you go faster through them, same in spectator mode scroll to move faster or slower. CTL + left click to select blocks you need and edit them only. And you can see in nether chunks you need just use Y cords on left from you 320,lower it to what you need it's what blocking you from see what under bedrock that is above in nether.
I've heard of a tool used that can delete chunks that have been loaded in for less than 30 seconds or something similar, i think xisumavoid mentioned it like years ago and that's basically what he did to trim the hermitcraft world file size to keep it more manageable, reset shulkers in the end before they were renewable and all that. Any idea what that tool may have been or if there is a setting in amulet that does this automatically?
Using this you can program a command block in creative then copying the build and moving it to your survival world. I had one that gave 1000 xp but I got rid of it because that's too broken, and you can add unobtainable items to a chest and copy and paste those too. Useful if you or someone destroyed a mob spawner, you can just put one of those and a spawn egg to get it back or to change the mobs. If you want to maybe the mob you'll need to first destroy them replace the spawner. There are limits, for example you can change biomes but you can't actually change what biome it is. So you can delete a plains biome to reset the chicks and then change it to a jungle but it will just be a plains biome with jungle grass and mobs. Which is cool but it would be nice if you could actually change it to a different one. You can also put water in the nether using this. To my knowledge you can't take enchanted items from java to bedrock. I tried getting the infamous "God armor" and a crossbow with multishot and piercing but they just lost the enchantments when converting.
The map would look the same, at least at first. But if you hold it in your hands, the map will get updated if you get close enough, like when you explore a new fresh map. Map datas are managed in separate files. If you previously locked a map with a glass pane, like for pixel art or something, the map will never change.

Hey silent, using a bedrock world in pc by this method, is there any chance of corrupting the world or just delete a entire chunk and get it into void?
Yes, which is why you make a back up first before editing. You can fill a chunk with air and end up with void, but if you just delete the chunk, it will regenerate when you load the area.
One thing I noticed when I copied and pasted over a villager trader hall/iron golem farm. Is that the blocks below the farm were just gone and since the farm wasn’t as big as a chunk the rest of the chunk was gone too. It made a natural defence against mobs but it’s now sitting over a void area 😅. The same was with the nether. I copied over a farming structure and the blocks below and bedrock up top were just gone. Was there a setting I missed when coping them over?
I don’t think it does, because you’re just deleting chunks and reloading chunks back into your world. If you’re still in survival mode you should be fine, if you aren’t sure make a copy of your world first and do it

@@elinbirgis In terms of raw file size, nah they aren't that big. But since they don't ever get deleted "naturally", the clutter ends up building up over time, In theory, you would need to open thousands and thousands of maps to reach that point, but it could over time affect your computer's performance. Think of it like candy wrappings that ends up getting shoved and forgotten between your computer desk and your bookcase. Each one individual wrapping might not be that big, but over the years it ends up becoming kind of a really gross mess.

Does it have "smooth transition"? My bedrock world is from before 1.16 and the world generation changed since that version. I used another program before and it didn't work, giant mountains cut in half (Vertically) would spawn around my base, cause the Caves and Cliffs update changed the world generation...
Mostly no, but the sheer cliffs dont always appear, perhaps try to make selections uneven, that way the terrain generation tries to blend into the old chunks (like when you explore naturally). I enjoy going around and teriforming these back to more natural terrain, leaving the odd big cliff. Underwater is cool though, adds an extra layer of interest that you wouldn't get in a new world.
If you have Java you could convert the bedrock world to Java and use another tool called MCA selector to force blend chunks (it's also another world trim tool but for Java only sadly) and then copy those blended chunks into your bedrock copy abit janky but worth a shot
I edited a world we’ve had for several years, and it cut the file in half. The only problem is, now I can’t get it to load back onto the realm slot. It keeps giving me an error code and won’t ever import past 10% of the world. Thoughts? Yes I have a copy and backup of the world just in case.

In theory, you would need to open thousands and thousands of maps to reach that point, but it could over time affect your computer's performance.
Think of it like candy wrappings that ends up getting shoved and forgotten between your computer desk and your bookcase.
Each one individual wrapping might not be that big, but over the years it ends up becoming kind of a really gross mess.
Silent!!! Back at it again making clutch videos quick question if I trimmed my world would ChunkBase still work?
Last time I did this, all along the borders of the chunks that I reset had obvious terrain differences. Massive straight lines were the old chunks ended and the new chunks started.
Why was that, does anyone know?
Silent! You are a legend but pls I have very shortage of gunpowder and I can't build your ghast farm because of space problem so pls design a big gunpowder farm in overworld because it is so difficult to build in nether I request you please design a big gunpowder farm which produce approximately 2000 gunpowder per hour.
@silentwisperer I have a ubuntu mc server bit can't get the amulet program to work on the server. Am I am to install the Windows version on my laptop and edit the world on there mv the world back to the server after I have finished editing?
To anyone on a realm. Doesn’t work
You need to download the world from your realm, edit or trim as you wish, then upload the world back to your realm and replace the old one
can this be done for bedrock realms?
yeah if you download the realm to a pc 👍
I have a small issue, every time I open Amulet, it crashes
idk why
help
Im trying to prune right now. Does anyone know if amulet has updated to the tricky trials update?
Bro i just build a 24 stacked raid fram but I done a mistake I build the afk platform 1 block lower than you said is it will problem the fram
Should be fine. Might need to lower the pillage spawn spots a block idk. They can't spawn closer than 24 blocks to the player. I forget how far up the afk spot is lol
@@silentwisperer the afk platformis 38 block far from the bottom of outpost should I also build the Killing platform 1 block lower
@@silentwispererBroo please tell
Guys please help me, I purchase Minecraft in the new sale and I was excited to play it but when I opened it I saw my skin was in half I try to change my skin but nothing happen then I just ignored it but when I create a world and spawn in it all mobs were missing some parts like some mobs only had head or some only had legs then I go to server and in server all skins of players were in half, guys please help me 😓😭😢
Are new farms coming?
Yes:)
Please make a video on mojang removing pdb files
If you have Java you could convert the bedrock world to Java and use another tool called MCA selector to force blend chunks (it's also another world trim tool but for Java only sadly) and then copy those blended chunks into your bedrock copy abit janky but worth a shot
it says its going to take up to 12 hours is this normal?
I hope Microsoft doesn't ban this wonderful tool.
I edited a world we’ve had for several years, and it cut the file in half. The only problem is, now I can’t get it to load back onto the realm slot. It keeps giving me an error code and won’t ever import past 10% of the world. Thoughts?
Yes I have a copy and backup of the world just in case.
might just be a realms issue tbh. make sure the realm is updated also:)
@@silentwisperer Thanks a million. I will double check it and update if it all works.
Did this fix the problem. I’m having the same issue
@@DRKNGEL-ei6et if there is a Beta out on the world trim don’t even try to use it if you are uploading the world to a realm. That was my problem. Betas will still edit and you can still play the world, but it will not load to a realm.
anyone know if on xbox, can you still move the world file with Files&Folders (from marketplace)? before cliffs came out someone made a video using it, but i can not locate it anymore.
I deleted my entire nether and now my portals are not in the nether. We tried to rebuild them but they still don’t appear on the nether side. Any suggestions?
you'll have to relink them again. generally good to just trim the edges of the nether so that doesnt happen
Will this disable trophies?
Silent sayed no to a guy who asked the same
it does not
WHY?! Why you said that bedrock it's "weird"??
That's frickin wrong, almost every game have weirder thinks and bedrock actually runs perfectly (i speak for expirience).
I really don't understand what's wrong with you all...
And one more think, this is quite a cheat, if i can bring in my survival world unlimited structures loot or blocks, kinda unfair for me.
At least you've maken a good video, great job
Cause I've been playing it for 7 years and have hundreds of vids proving it's weird xD
@@silentwisperer uh, fair point...
But, can this depend on the device?
Or, Just a simpler question: Is It that weird to be unplayble?
I dont think so much, i actually love bedrock and like so muck to deal with redstone on it, i dont think i would like java even if i could play on it
Hey silent big fan by the way
But can you help me, I don't have a pc and in need to trim my world I play in low end mobile device and can you please help me
