Personally, I'd put the brace of pistols next to the crossbow at S tier on account that the burst potential is so damn high. It absolutely dumps on bosses when paired with concoction and can clear storm-vermin patrols with ease. They also synergize well with all of Saltzpyre's abilities across all three of the classes that can use them.
The Volley Crossbows triple shot does trigger scrounger on all bolts giving back 9 bolts, I like to run it on Bounty Hunter if I want both horde clearing and some special kills, worthless against armor tho.
Volley crossbow/scrounger and smiter on zealot is rlly good build for Fortunes of War. It melts everything+if u are hitting your shots, its infinite ammo.
The only time the volley is a viable weapon is fortunes of war when you run the meme zealot build with maximum movement speed. You use it with monsters and scrounger with guaranteed crits and you and take out monsters while kiting the horde. You do it right and you have almost unlimited ammo. Other than that, it sucks imo.
I really like Volley Crossbow with BH's guarantee Crit. You have a free elite/special deleter every few seconds with its shotgun mode. Free shots from the thing is almost needed because its reload speed is just TOO DAMN RIGHTEOUS for my unworthy hands.
Dual hammers is better on Saltz than on Bardin imo, due to the increased headshot potential because of their respective sizes. I feel like I'm just hitting heads with Saltz whereas Bardin I just break knees.
To me, even while being very situational, the best weapon is by far the tome and hammer. The dash is extremely efficient vs specials. And the 2d charged attack is decent vs hordes and absolutely magnificent vs patrols. It has an insane stagger effect in aoe coupled with very high explosion damage. Especially vs Chaos Warriors groups, it is much more efficient than any other of his weapons. Also, you can charge the tome with the special attack button without getting the movement slow. It allows you to be ready for anything constantly as your tome keeps charged until you attack. Take it with a second weapon strong vs hordes and it smashes.
How billhook is not S tier in this is beyond me. Sure the moveset can feel clunky at first but that's an issue of not being used to or good with the weapon, not an issue with the weapon itself.
@@Straddock Billhook gives you soo much spacing and clutch potential in tight spots and overhead combo does huge dmg as well. Sure, rapier can do everything to excelence - except the methodical gameplay and options that only bilhook can...
So I just wanted to say that Blessed Tome + Hammer is actually really, really strong. The reason being is that the overhead AoE attack *has no cleave limit.* (Or if it does, it's REALLY high.) Against huge hordes it simply outperforms killing large numbers of enemies. In addition, the Light Attack spam is constant headshots.
The flail is the reason I play Victor. It's all flail all the time. Versitile and so satisfying as you mash everything in your path. 🤘🤘 I agree on the hammer and tome. I found the mechanics just off. If you can manage that aspects it's quite good.
I have to say that I still find the hammer and book nearly invaluable as someone who does not yet master the range-less game. It doesn't give alot of mobility, sure. But it gives enough to make a break for certain specials that I otherwise would struggle to challenge without the incredible range of the Bretonnian Longsword. Namely hookrats.. Also assassins to a lesser degree. Can usually deal with them fairly reliably without, but it helps in case they're about to jump away because we walk slowe than they do. If you're more experienced in melee only classes, perhapse the weapon may seem worthless. But to me, it's a boring, yet highly necessary piece of equipment for the time being. Hopefully that time will pass someday
@@VernonKun I think op means that the stagger power of rapier is not enough to interrupt . Its not the worst thing in the world, but it IS one thing the rapier cannot do.

Voley Crossbow is actually quite good for Fortunes of War final mission, with ammo on headshot and zealot running speed build. Guy with such cared entire cata FoW finale.
griffonfeet are both lower than I expected yet in the same spot I'd put them. It's fun to just shred through hordes with unlimited ammo using these things but I feel like it becomes harder to do on champion and above with certain maps because of the fear of a teammate side stepping from my blindspot and getting a crit shotgun blast to the head, having to watch out for them makes me too paranoid to use it properly, which is why it's nice to have a dwarf since you can shoot over them during hordes without fear of friendly fire.
Been using bh griffons on legend. Got into the habit of either dealing with flanking hordes or just jumping and shooting the horde just behind the frontlines to avoid too much ff.
@@TheZodiac213 I think jumping might help with that but most of the time I'd want to be moving backwards while jumping, and the only way to do that instead of dodging is to not move until after you jump, which still gets some distance but has too much time standing still to not work great.
The hammer and tome I couldnt agree more with; the Heavy attacks need swapping so badly cuz the charge is *nice* but the bonk is what you want most of the time aye
I think the flail and shield have a hidden Heavey 2 attack much like Kirillen's Glave or the duel hammer push attack follow. up. By following up with a light attack after the first flail heavy it doses an overhead that is just at a slightly different angle and speed that seems to do more stagger and headshot damage.
There are 2 usual heavy attacks on flail and shield. Heavy1 chains into light2, heavy2 chains into light1. First light chains into heavy2, all other light attacks chain into heavy1.
I tried, it's not a hidden attack, it just follows up to light 2 after heavy. Whatever the case, heavy attack spam probably deals higher dps than the heavy attack->light combo, even if it's headshot dmg.
Ehh, I have to disagree on switching Tome and Hammer's Heavy 1 and 2. It's fine having to throw a Light into a Heavy before it comes out, but if the dash is Heavy 2 that would complicate it as a movement tech or gap closer. Still, the dash is slightly too short and weak. Any more damage and on Legend it can one-shot Ratling/Warpfire, or Packmasters with 2 stacks of rising judgement (It leaves them with less then 1 HP). Though it still suffers on Cata where it needs more investment to still 1 shot problematic specials. I do find it a lot of fun to use. It's got the qualities of a 1h Axe on it's light attacks while every other attack isn't just "More single target damage". It's still no Flail and Shield or 2h Hammer, but still it's a much better version of the Axe.
hammer + shield is actually a lot better than flail and shield since flail cant stun shit but hammer and shield is awesome with hordes and stunning even berserkers and plague rats
True, but I'd argue that flail+shield's damage and safety (block while charging heavy) is debatably more useful than stunning. Why stun when flail/shield already killed the berserker by the time you get around to bashing its stunned head in? For the record I say this as someone who loves hammer/shield for aesthetics and feeling, but I always found flail/shield way more effective, even if I hate how boring it is.

Hammer and tome is the best WP weapon. The explosion has no cleave limit and does massive damage. The only downside is the charge time, but with another good frontliner in the team it shouldn't be a problem. In practice, no other build can compare to the DPS this weapon can do.
