  • In 2011, I had the privilege to observe one of the last free snow leopards in Ladakh, India, thanks to the fantastic work of the Snow Leopard Conservancy India Trust.
    PLEASE SUPPORT THEM!

it was a joy and a privilege to spend 8 hours with a beautiful wild female snow leopard up here in Ladakh, I'll never forget it. These cats are living in peace only due to the hard work of the Snow Leopard Conservancy - congratulations to them and to the local team led by Jigmet and Radhika.

Great job. Conservation of these endangered species of leopards is really a challenging work . Growing plants will help in their food supply availability with the increase of other animals in their food chain. Some shallow artificial lakes can be constructed which could supply them fish & birds for their food availability.

a paisagem quase não ha plantas e mesmo assim muitos animais e muitas espécies sobrevivem e tem seu habitat nessas montanhas geladas.
    incrível.

Snow leopards are the most beautiful wild cat ! I have been watching infomercials on these beautiful animals how they are caught in traps killed for no reason why are people so heartless to do this to these beautiful God created creatures !!!

@forkinpig: I know exactly how you feel :) Can't stop thinking of going back to this magnificant place, too. I think you can go on a solo treck around Rumbak where these videos have been filmed. The best time to see a snow leopard ist during winter season. Good luck & all the best, Thomas

God created animals for a purpose and if we kill them we would be making a grave mistake to ourselves and to nature. Even if a snow leopard kills some sheep and goats, it should be preserved and there should be societies that provide a compensation for the herders. Thank you for your great documentary

I went to Ladakh for the first time this year and now i can't stop thinking how and when i can get back there again ....& again..and again.
Which part of Ladakh - within Hemis - and in which time of the year were these snow leopards filmed, is it advisable(with necessary precautions) to do a solo trek on these trails ?

The highest mountains, definitely higher ground. The floods and waters drowning the people. If there were huge floods encompassing the earth then these would be survivors.
