The first moving day, getting everything in, is the most stressful. The next few days are more enjoyable, for the better part, as you unpack and set up your new home. Enjoy 💕
In my younger days, I moved a lot. Married to military guys, orders changed and so did the bases and states. I got moving down to a system; always set up the beds 1st, so if you're tired and done for the day, it was ready. Put boxes in the rooms they belong in, of the most used items. Have a staging area for all the other stuff that can get unpacked a little at a time. I really like your apartment, it has so much character!
Totally agree! I like marking the 'immediate' boxes with a star or label it with a different coloured marker. I always make a kitchen box with items to make coffee, kettle, cups, cutlery etc too, so that if you're knackered, you've got the main bits ready to go ❤
Hi Margaret! no idea why youtube showed me this video, but it made me reminisce about my first apt (I'm 53 now LOL) in a late 1800s farmhouse in Rhode Island. I'm so happy for you- for your privacy, freedom of imagination as you decorate and evolve your style...so many things! I've always dreamed of living in Portland, ME, too. I wish you all the best. -Trish
New sub here-- its funny your video was recommended to me and you've moved to Portland-- I'm in Maine too... not far from Portland. Worked there for a couple of years, loved it!! Can't wait to see you explore there!! It's a fun place, so much to see!! Have fun!!❤
Okay, so, I promise you, I am NOT a crazy stalker. But just because I’m a lifelong (so far) Mainer who lived in Portland in my 20s, and worked in and around SoPo from my late 30s to near 50, I’ve grown kind of obsessed with looking out background windows while you’re talking, trying to figure out where you are. 🤣 Best I could do this video was that you probably ate your chicken nuggets in the parking lot of the Maine Mall. 🤣🤣🤣
hope you got a good job most Portland land lords are out to get as much as they can for rent wile giving you bare bones apartments those tall ceilings will cost you a mint in heat in the winter trust me i know :)
@@margaretskiff might be true but most landlords especially in Portland that now has rent controls in place find a way to recoup those costs in the rent :) i just hope the land lords name is not one of 3 Jeffrey rice or Joe solely or anything owned by port property management
Yay top 143 and top 6 likes and comments. Love this channel. Thanks for making this video. ****Can you (eventually) do videos about stuff to do in Portland - your favorite restaurants, parks, the local library, any interesting stuff like that? Clicked on video 22 hours after it was posted. 10:34 a.m. Tuesday, May 14th, 2024. Edit: Thank God you're all okay after that mattress flying out of the back of the truck thing. I watch Dashcam videos here on UA-cam and seeing that sort of thing - be it a sheet of plywood or metal or a board or whatever else - is always so scary and i wasn't even there.

I always get worried that people will be able to tell exactly where I am in videos but the nuggets were actually eaten in Brunswick lol
I’d use the blocked doors as a backdrop for my bed

@@apctech1 the heat is gas and the landlord pays for that so my utility costs really shouldn’t go up that much in the winter

I hope to keep up the vlogging and post about things to do in the area, I also post a lot more about that kind of stuff on my tiktok and Instagram!
