I always keep a smaller tape measure in my purse, 6', great for thrifting and estate sales; a regular one in the glove box of the car, for yard sales and found treasures on the side of the road. I also have 3" x 5" cards in my purse with all the measurements of rooms, certain walls, windows, furniture and color swatches. A buffet or side board, I doubt you're going to find something narrow at 10". I would think 15" -18" would be fine, so what if it sticks out a little bit. The little table is really cute, perfect and looks in good condition - score #1!
I don't think you will find such a narrow 10" buffet. So whatever you buy, it will stick out. If you don't want that, you should put shelves in that space, and create a sort of bookcase. Or put doors in front.
Love the salvation army in Portland!! I also look for the thrift shops that support causes-- some animal shelters have thrift shops that use the sales as donations for the animals! Have fun!❤
If a piece of furniture comes with glass and you don’t want to display what’s inside you can use film to cover the glass. There are different designs of film like stained glass, fluted glass, solid colors, lace and so on.
I just discovered your channel and I live in Maine as well! Have you checked out The Willows flea market in Mechanic Falls? It’s big and they have decent prices and have a mix of furniture and lots of other things. There’s also a couple flea markets in Oxford that are fun and have furniture.

Often banks will allow you to use certain other bank's atms for free, or they will reimburse a handful of atm fees per month. You can also use your checking account debit card to pay for groceries or at a pharmacy and take out some cash there. I would also recommend contacting your bank and telling them that this is an occasional issue for you and tell them you would like to stick with them if they can reimburse you this fee so it isn't challenging to continue to bank with them from out of state. Most banks won't want to lose an entire customer account for $4. It costs way, way more money to attract a new customer than to keep a regular customer by eating $4.
