  • When it comes to glamorous jewelry crafted with dynamic techniques, no brand better encapsulates this union than Bulgari. With their high-end jewelry, luxury timepieces and chic accessories, Bulgari has been celebrated for over a century by style icons, Italian royals and A-listers.
Founded in 1884 by Sotirois Voulgaris, Bulgari is one of the oldest Italian jewelry houses. Sotirois Voulgaris immigrated to Italy in 1880 from Greece with only a few cents to his name but was a highly skilled silversmith. He named his brand Bulgari as it was the phonetic pronunciation of his last name. The jewelry house’s logo is written as BVLGARI as it follows the classic Latin alphabet. Voulgaris created jewelry that honored ancient Roman architecture, mosaics and coins. When looking at where Bulgari is made, although the headquarters are in Roma, most of the jewelry is actually made in Valenza.
During the 1950’s, Bulgari rose in popularity among the Italian nobility and American socialites. Bulgari’s jewelry was frequently used in classic Hollywood movies, such as Roman Holiday, King Kong and Cleopatra, adorning the likes of Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn and Jessica Langue. Of the jewelry house, Andy Warhol once said, “For me, calling at Bulgari’s shop is like visiting the best exhibition of contemporary art.”
Bulgari’s edgy Serpenti collection was heavily featured in Florence + the Machine’s music video for “Say My Name.” In this video, singer and style icon Florence Welch is hauntingly dressed as a classic Hollywood Cleopatra and richly adorned in Serpenti rings, bracelets and watches. Other celebrities that love Bulgari include the likes of Rihanna, Bella Hadid and Zendaya.

    People come, people go.
    Civilizations rise and fall.
There is but one common denominator: the Arts.
When the last breath of the last human has expired, it's not money or even kings and queens that will be left, those will be but a questionable decay. What will be, is the artists and the efforts of their artistic expressions. Deeper, paintings and metals will molder and rust. What will be, are these jewels. They will mark our human existence for eternity.

Whom Can We Trust If No One Is Trustworthy?
One of my favorite quips from Mark Twain’s The Adventures of Tom Sawyer is when Tom is defined as “a glittering hero…the pet of the old, the envy of the young,” and there were “some that believed that he would be President, yet, if he escaped hanging.” With these few words, Twain captured the essence of leadership in our world. Those who get to the top are the fiercest, most determined, and most ruthless. Today, the latter quality has become so intense that we can no longer believe our leaders, and certainly not trust them to have our best interest in mind.
I am not accusing any leader in particular, or even leaders as a whole. It is simply that in an egoistic world, where people vie to topple one another on their way to the top, the one at the top is clearly the one who trampled over and knocked down more people than anyone else. Concisely, to get to the top in an egoistic world you have to be the biggest egoist.
So how do we know whom to trust? We don’t know and we cannot know. All we know is that we are in the dark.
In a culture of unhinged selfishness, any conspiracy theory seems reasonable, while truth is nowhere to be found. When every person who says or writes something is trying to promote some hidden agenda, you have no way of knowing who is right, what really happened, or if anything happened at all.
The only way to get some clarity in the news and goodwill from our leaders is to say “Enough!” to our current system and build something entirely independent. The guiding principle of such a system should be “information only,” no commentary. Commentary means that information has already been skewed. Information means saying only what happened, as much as possible, not why, and not who is to blame and who we should praise.
Concurrently, we must begin a comprehensive process of self-teaching. We have to know not only what is happening, but why we skew and distort everything. In other words, we have to know about human nature and how it inherently presents matters according to its own subjective view, which caters to one’s own interest. To “clear” ourselves from that deformity, we must learn how to rise above our personal interest and develop an equally favorable attitude toward others. This is our only guarantee that our interpretation of things will be even and correct.
Once we achieve such an attitude, we will discover that the bad things we see in our world reflect our own, internal wickedness. Our ill-will toward others creates a world where ill-will governs, and so the world is filled with wickedness and cruelty. Therefore, all we need in order to create positive leadership-and to generally eliminate ill-will from the world-is to generate goodwill within us. When we nurture goodwill toward others, we will fill the world with goodwill. As a result, the world will fill with kindness and compassion. By changing ourselves, we will create a world that is opposite from the world we have created through our desires to govern, patronize, and often destroy other people.

Actually, the name Bulgari (now BVLGARI) spelled originally in Greek as Βούλγαρης. Andrew, it's so interesting to hear of where these well known artisans started off. To be honest, I hadn't even given a thought to how Bvlgari started. I do like the fact that after all these years, Bvlgari is still such a well known name. Goes to show that not all of these artisans had an easy start to their careers. Kris.🇦🇺🥰

@@constancekrischan9967 How lucky you are! I bet it looks amazing!! My collection has come to a halt this year due to the many disasters that keep following me. I also came to the realisation that I've been over doing the gems and needed a break. I'm recovering from a broken arm and other injuries from attempting acrobatics in my bathroom during the last week of September, which is my jovial way of saying that I had a bad accident. I've never had a break before but made up for it with three breaks on my predominant arm which is my left. No art for me for quite some time as this is going to take quite awhile to heal whilst going through all the therapy to get the strength back in my arm. I've lost so much weight also due to either my 2nd vaccine or a virus that miraculously hit me at the exact same time the side-effects started the night I received it. I got my booster shot the other week and yet again ended up in hospital with my airways constricting, a terrible sore throat and no voice! I swear this vaccine has it in for me. I weigh a measly 42kgs! Despite this, I still can't get my diamond set watch to fit as it sits right where the breaks are. The diamond set yellow gold huggies have earnt their cost as I've been wearing them most of the year due to being so comfortable. Unfortunately, I still can't drive as my vehicle is a Ford Transit Motorhome plus it's manual. Although I'm only about an inch away from making a fist with my left hand, I simply don't have the strength or coordination to even hold a pen, so driving is out of the question at this time. I've certainly had the postal delivery service on its toes. What else is a girl to do when stranded at home with devices for company - but shop! So, I've been able to purchase from Canada but can't get to my local jewellery store. The irony! Received an early Christmas present from my parents of a new television. Although, it's more of a large computer than a telly. I've got Spotify playing on it now. Very soon, we won't need aerials but all content will be from satellites. They don't even supply aerial cords with the latest TV's now. At least it's keeping me occupied. I've been feeling so naked without my jewellery and even had to have the four permanent rings I wear on my left hand taken off as soon as I was taken to hospital before the swelling got out of hand. I still can't get them back on and it was only a few weeks ago that I managed to finally put on a necklace. I do love the colour of the Ceylon Sapphire but really like the shades of the Montana Sapphires that I've been seeing online. I've got about eight different colours of Sapphires but no Ceylon as yet - one day? Take care of yourself and drink in that beautiful scenery that you have around you. I'm cracking open my French champagne on Christmas day and hope that the New Year can only get better, this one was truly disastrous. Season's Greetings to you too, Kris.🇦🇺🎄🥰🥂🍾🎆

@@krisushi1 Oh my goodness I’m so sorry to hear you have been having such a horrible string of unfortunate events! I’m going for my J&J booster tomorrow but don’t expect any adverse effects as the first dose had no side effects. Have patience my dear, healing takes time and you want to do it right so the arm doesn’t have chronic weakness. We aren’t getting any younger. Fortunately (and I use that word lightly) breakers take less time to heal than sprains or partial breaks like cracks down the middle of your bone (I did that once). I know you must be have cabin fever try reading or puzzle books. Anything to occupy your mind. I think Champagne is OK it’s a little bit or I prefer Asti Spumante! A sweet California sparkling wine! Yummy! I wish you were more accessible for me. I have a 32 inch flatscreen smart TV that isn’t being used. I was thinking of donating it and would love to give it to you! I’ll have to look into postal costs. My only complaint for 2021 is that on August, Friday the 13th I got laid off from my job at the chemical company. I really loved that job. Unemployment is very boring and yet tedious, apply online and uploading my resume is irritating. Take care of you!😘

    • @krisushi1
      @krisushi1 2 роки тому +1

@@constancekrischan9967 Spumante was a drink that I remember my parents partaking in when they indulged occasionally and will look out for it again when I can finally get mobile. It was actually doing the Microsoft Solitaire Challenges with other games that kept me occupied. I love doing Sudoku also. I wasn't paying too much attention to the telly as there wasn't much of interest on compared to the catch up telly and binging on older series that I hadn't seen was quite fun on my computer. I have a storage device that has well over a hundred movies on which I plugged into my laptop which I balanced on my lap. Unfortunately, I couldn't read as I couldn't hold a book but that will change soon enough. That's such a lovely thought to offer your TV but the postage will be astronomical. We've been having postage strikes which has affected the post coming from the US also. I ordered a Pat McGrath palette a month ago that still hasn't arrived, although I saw that it has finally cleared customs here and should arrive before Christmas. You're so lucky that you haven't had issues with the vaccine. My first two were AstraZeneca and my booster was Pfizer, yet twice I ended up in hospital from the last ones. AZ was able to be produced in Melbourne where they had a laboratory and it's just been announced that Moderna is going to be made on our shores too. The media panicked the population after a few people died from blood clots which is an extreme reaction to the AZ vaccine. This is why most delayed getting vaccinated as they wanted to wait for Pfizer despite it having issues with Myocarditis and Pericarditis in extreme cases. Even though I have suffered from Pericarditis since 21yrs of age, the booster didn't affect my heart but constricted my airways. I was given Dexamethasone which opens up the airways and you may have heard of it being used in high altitude climbing when altitude sickness starts to kick in. Apparently, it has been proven affective in COVID patients with further studies into this drug which are ongoing. I'm so sorry that you lost your job, especially one that you enjoyed. This is definitely not the time to be unemployed with so many others also searching for work. I'm sure you'll get something else to your liking in no time. Cabin fever has definitely been an issue but then again I'm keeping isolated now that the States are finally opening up with COVID numbers through the roof. One little get together in Sydney has now resulted in 94 cases of COVID within the past week but this will continue until more get vaccinated or build up immunity. Weighing as little as I do now and being so out of shape, it was safer for me to get the booster than not. As they say, patience is a virtue and it's certainly testing me but I know this will take time. It's actually the first time I've ever broken a bone but I wasn't satisfied doing just one but both the Ulna and the Radius in a few places. My 'good' arm was still quite bad but not broken. It just makes it very difficult to cope at home alone when you can't use both arms. At least that one is healing well, plus my ankles and the base of my spine. Of course this just had to happen a week before the 35th year anniversary of my chronic spinal injury where I was planning on opening the champagne. Well, at least I'm gradually healing but with much frustration. It seems the story of my life to have all these disasters befall me but I'm still here which must say something for my persistence and stubbornness. Best of luck with finding another great job and with your booster tomorrow. Love Kris.
