Would EV range be extended if manufacturers lowered numerically the final drive ratio? Tesla's use a 9:1 final drive. Would lowering the ratio to 5:1 or 4:1 seriously cramp the acceleration? Teslas(and Lucids, Polestars,Porsches) are already very quick off the line.

That’s cause it doesn’t take any minutes at all. You don’t have to pump gas at the station, you just pull into your garage and the car charges while you go eat dinner or whatever.

What you need is around 300 or so miles of range and a supercharger network for trips. Any range over say 400 is a complete waste in practical terms. You know who worries about range? A) people who don’t drive EV’s. B) people who don’t drive Teslas.
