    EV's are neat but...fact there are charging deserts all across the USA ergo places where you cannot go with an EV because there are no charging points. In time that likely will change, but right now don't expect the EV to be a road trip vehicle to anywhere in the USA. as destinations are limited.

    i always said : when cars go a minimum of 350 miles i might consider buying one, but and its a big but, i own an outlander PHEV a fantastic car because i am retired and mostly go 15 milles back and forth to go play golf using less than one liter of gas each time, the rest of the time i am using only electric which cost in québec canada $1.44 to charge my battery; which is good because in canada gas cost 7.00 dollars a gallon. Unfortunately I am reconsidering buy an electricbecause cars cost 35% more in canada and tax is 15.4% so no subsidy because the tax on a 55000 dollar electric car is more than the subsidy. Further more a kia ev6 is 70,000 dollars in canada ,which is crazy. this week i have learned that some insurance company are starting to charge up to 5 or 6thousand dollars for insurance. Plus the tax for using roadway is coming since you dont pay the gas tax for road usage. which in canada is 505%OF A GALLON OF GAS. The goverment is looking for ways to recuperate that loss. EV MAKERS WILL HAVE TO PERFORM A MIRACLE IN BATTERY TECHNOLOGY IN RANGE AND PRICE TO CONVINCE ME. But I am shure that SINCE ev makers have tasted 55,00 dollar cars they wont reduce the price. furthermore nobody trust the Chinese for quality vehicles; go read the nightmare on chinese MG : self accelerating , no brakes and imposible to turn off vehicle. I buy stuff from China but if you have a problem, you might as well trash the item , the chinese will not help you, DONT EVER BUY A CHINESE VEHICLE YOU WILL REGRET IT. THERE IS ALSO THE PROBLEM WITH FAST CHARGERS: THEY WILL DAMAGE YOUR BATTERY IN THE LONG RUN ,YOU WILL LOSE SIGNIFICANT RANGE DUE TO BATTERY DEGRADATION. I MEAN IS IT REALLY WORTH ALL THIS. NO TANK YOU, IF A phev CAME OUT WITH A BATTERY GOING 100 km OR 60 MILLES i WOULD BUY IT rRT NOW BECAUSE phev S ARE AMAZING. FULL ELECTRIC ? MAYBE IN 10 YEARS WHEN THEY WILL HAVE FIXED ALL THE PROBLEMS AND LET ME TELL YOU THERE IS A LOT OF PROBLEMS.

    Isn't there a Zeekr 001 coming with 1032km of range?

    • @TheAutoObserver
      @TheAutoObserver  11 місяців тому

      You're correct about the impressive range of the Zeekr 001! However, this video specifically focuses on electric cars that are currently available for purchase in the United States, and at the moment, the Zeekr 001 isn't in the US market. That said, we're always excited to see new advancements in EV technology and we'll certainly keep an eye on the Zeekr 001. Thanks for your comment, and stay tuned for updates!

    With all respect you have no idea that their is for example in the Chinese market and since a while a car called Zeekr 001 that have a range of 1035 Km so I think you are a bit behind

      I appreciate your input! You're absolutely right; there are many electric cars worldwide, including the Zeekr 001, with impressive ranges. However, in this video, we focused on electric cars available in the U.S. market specifically for 2023. It's incredible to see how quickly electric vehicle technology is advancing globally. Thanks for sharing the information about the Zeekr 001! 🚗🔌

      zEEKER 1 is a good looking car and in china the price is all right, but by the time it arrives in Canada it will be 70,000 dollars and it will be a Chinese car , Good luck for service if yours is not working properly. those who buy Ev's dont know what they are getting themselves into. In cold weather you will lose half the range. no dealership equal no service. what are you going to do with your 70,000 dollar car when it breaks ; that is why people are buying Tesla more than anyting else they might have one chance in hell to get the problem fixed maybe , because even Tesla has been put on the spot for poor service. And dont forget the 6,000 dollars a year insurance unless Elon Musk starts an insurance company and charge you only 3000 dollars a year.And should you ever get into an accident : that will go up tp 6,000 dollars a year. The more I investigate the actual EV situation the less i am interested in buying one.

    Why can't all this manufacturers do an electric cars with solar roof!!!? I thinking it is a simple invention 😢

    • @TheAutoObserver
      @TheAutoObserver  9 місяців тому

      Absolutely agree! A solar roof on electric cars sounds like a fantastic idea for extending their range sustainably. But it's a bit complex due to efficiency, cost, and limited roof space. Let's hope for more breakthroughs down the road! 🚗🌞😊

      Fisker ocean. According to Henrik Fisker, this would be why others don't do it. "It is one thing to show a solar roof, it is another to make it work," he says in an interview. "You have to get that energy into a high voltage energy pack. It's a special converter device which we have filed a patent on. I don't know how other people do it because it is not easy to do and really get all the power in."

    range is really only an issue when you buy your first EV, as soon as you get used to it it's not really a problem.
    Actually you should consider if it is worth the extra cost of the car AND the extra cost of driving daily with bigger and heavier batteries just because you need the range 4 times a year.

    When a car needs an update you need a wifi signal.. what if the internet one day ceases to exist?

      @@TheAutoObserver So you think the internet will one day disappear and that when that happens the inability to update electric cars computer systems will be the primary concern. Hmm. Not sure I see much logic in that. What will cause the internet to cease to exist?
