- Gggaaaaahhhh... This was a nightmare to get done. I have underestimated the snags of the past. It's truly dreadful when they all happen at once. I'll do an update on what's up Tomorrow or Monday.

I can’t help but feel like Corn was experiencing something like sensory overload when he switched back to his spirit form the first time in this episode.
@@valkaerie8715 traumatized, but yeah. episode 2, he was only a day or two old and was, for a brief moment, the last living thing on earth. even if your memories of that early point of your life go away, scars dont.
I didn’t even notice that his trauma could be from that moment.
I actually headcannon him as autistic because I have autism and can relate to him :)
@@sleepycyborg3241 same²
I figured that or an anxiety attack, too.
popcorn
pop goes corn
THAT PUN IS AMAZING
Agreed, and they leave a window for his character to develop a little more in the overall story...but then again I'd rather see what gets Kitty perturbed first hand myself ^p^
and there better be thunder & lightning; full immersion for the coming hurricane.
* monsoon, corn is the god of wind and hurricanes are made over the water
plus monsoons are more common in central america
thank you for the clarification, either way pack an umbrella
I mean damn.
Not sure if anyone else commented about this, but the episode title and direction appears to be based on the Cherokee tale “The Little Boy and the Rattlesnake”. There’s different versions of the story but the common thing is the rattlesnake biting the boy and when the boy asks why, the rattlesnake says, “You knew what I was when you picked me up,”
Corn is too precious for this world
Precious smol
I pity the fool who makes him angry. We've seen him lash out. He's not trying to hurt anyone. There is something else in him.
Yeah, he lashes out 'cause he's scared! My ball python does the same thing if there's too many people or loud noises. He starts striking out of fear.
J. D weird you say this because quetzalcoatls nicknames in the aztec world is precious twin
Guess what his sister's name is.
When Corn gets spooked he just kinda yeets himself places
Like a McDonald’s napkin flying out the window of your car on the highway….
@@apophis9061 thats what its like when you date a skinny boy. he flies out the window like corn here
I realized after watching this twice, that Charles could have easily been killed here. I wonder if the kid truly knows what he's doing.
Of course not. He's an idiot kid...like that patchwork girl of Vicki's. Too much magic and not enough sense. They're playing around. Games. Literally games. Having fun. They don't have a grasp of the weight of their actions. They're out of their depth. They have enough power to keep the storm from sinking them...but it wont save them when the things in the deep wake up.
I don't think he's a complete idiot, a lot of his moves are calculated, but you are right to say he's messing with powers far beyond his own mortal comprehension.
Skythe Annur
Its not just mortal comprehension. When you have a family to care for or even just anyone at all, you don't...play like this. He's...too young...and too lonely. I wonder who hurt him...or who didnt.
We'll learn about Charles, Angel, and Amaroq's stories soon enough. But it does beg the question, "Why?"
Skythe Annur
Its never a good reason.
"Yeesh, what are these kids doing with their hair?"
DEAD
hope I'm not the only one who is absolutely in love with Corn's voice and overall character
I love them all. Calamity's my fav, but I love Huey, and Kitty, and Rip, and...well, they're all unique. They have great rapport, too.
Love em all, but corn is like, me as a spirit
I absolutley love Corn. He's a cute big anxiety noodle ^^ He looks like he could use a big hug, but i think that there is sadly the risk of him biting ^^"
Nope, corn is the best soft boy.
Yes, yes, the relationship between Calamity and Icky is very interesting. Same with Calamity and Corn. But is nobody going to talk about what's up with Icky and Corn at the end? What do they think of each other? Are they good friends? Distant? Do they dislike each others opinions and morals like Calamity and Icky?
I WAS THINKING THE SAME THING
I WAS THINKING THE SAME THING. Hi, I'm rewatching the series lol
Eevee XD I just discovered this series a month ago and I’m watching it for the second time over :D haha
I think it’s because he’s made at Corn for biting Calamity. (I’m assuming based on this episode that Icky and Calamity are siblings? They seemed to refer to each other’s parents being the same people in the context of their convo at the beginning of the video but idk I could just be looking into it too much lol)!
@@vixiestarfire All I know is that I can't wait to find out more about them
So interesting thing learned in my myths and legends class. I was reading an article on mythology, and it mentions Quetzalcoatl and Tezcatlipoca as gods in their written mythology. Apparently Tezcatlipoca tricked Quetzalcoatl with his own vanity. Now that doesn't sound much like our version of Corn does it, but it does bring up an interesting parallel to this episode. Black Bart, a wielder of the black Tezcatlipoca does trick Corn. I thought it was interesting. Also which mythology I'd Corn from????? The article didn't say, and my wants to look up original myth!
Aztec and miscellaneous First Nation Myth regarding "rattlesnake"
Eep! you are one of my favorite people! Thank you for the answer!
Funny thing about mythology; it likely has a basis in fact. But it's a mystery as to who's interpretation survives history, or which part of fact, or fiction, gets popular enough to be put into prominent folklore, then carried forward in history. Even then, it's surprising how that thread gets translated into narrative. Fun stuff.
@@RichardRoy2 It's fascinating stuff. Sort of like when you track the evolution of the christian's faith. In Hebrew there's no mention of hell or devils and then christianity comes along and not only makes an adversary for their god to fight against, and so their members to also fight, but they took the horned goat god from the pagan religions they absorbed and turned that into their devil and now christians world wide will swear up and down that not only is there a devil but he has goat legs and horns.
@@glenngriffon8032 That was another interesting facet of mythology mixed with current events in a culture. If you look back to your mention of the adoption of the goat figure as representative of the devil, you get the impression the adoption may have served the purpose of increasing recruitment from one group to another, right? It's not perfect, but it can give one a bit of insight into the possible goings on at the time. I suspect the interactions of Christian and Chinese cultures were responsible for the introduction of the dragon as Satan, and probably for the same reason; to dissuade an exodus from Christianity to some of the Chinese mythologies. I understand that the Dragon was a benevolent god in some Chinese folklore.
I'm... I'm dangerous?
You want to hurt me?
MagicalFirey Dragon no!
Tanuki! So adorable :0
Corn is too socially awkward for his own good.
Its called awkward for a reason.
I think the term you are looking for is adorkable
This time it was really good for him too though because if he wasn't Black Bart would've trapped their only healer.
I can relate 😭
Actually I think he might be agoraphobic he does display some of the symptoms like high anxiety around lots of people isolating himself and having attachments to one person aka (kitty) I may be wrong I'm only going off of what I been through
Poor Corn, I just want to give him a hug! Though I expect that wouldn't end well for anyone...
It will be fine if you don't startle him when you do it
@@sesshomaru880 Asking permission first would probably help with that. And yeah, I also REALLY wanna give my poor baby snake a hug
Oh, wow, it's almost like Corn is a snake when he feels threatened. Imagine. I am a little confused, though. If he bit Bart, then Bart was doing something to threaten him. How could Quetzalcoatl not have noticed the black ick?
He probably did but he's a kind soul and doesn't want to kill him
In a figure of example speech: Quetzalcoatl ain't like Black Bart. He's a shamonic healer, he cares about other people's lives even the bad ones. If his actions hurt someone (ex: Calamity) then of course he's gonna feel bad. Bart's the opposite, it's why he and the Black Tez. are so suited for one another. Black and White.
+girl1213 The black is not good or evil, I don't think. It's an amoral anomaly with an overriding urge to pacify all. Think of it as a computer program executing an infinite loop. The Tezcatlipocas definitely have consciousnesses after a fashion but I don't think they are multifaceted. They are defined by one trait and one trait only.
I'm also confused about that. It's like were missing some very, very crucial information there 0_o
Ghastcraze Well the confusion likely stems from the fact we didn't see the actual attack, just Bart with Black Tez. on his hand before it cut to Calamity. And to be frank, Corn is a snake, so why wouldn't he have some traits or behaviors of snakes? Finally, like I said before, Corn isn't like Bart, noticing the Black Tez. or not, Corn is a good soul, even to his enemies it seems. Hope that helps to clear some confusion.
So, obviously there's some tension between Calamity and Icky and their parents. I'm curious to know what's up with that.
Calamity, both Spirit & Human form, is hot.
Also Popcorn. Pop goes Corn. Took me a moment to get that pun.
Umm... "hot"?
Really?

Who hear would Walk up to Corn and Give him a hug?
But seriously Corns to innocent for his own good.
I would not hug corn without permission. Actually, there's a couple friends I have who are less intimidating than me, and who likely give better hugs.
I would want to, but I'm afraid I'd be bitten lmao
Brilliant human form designs there, so far covering up most of the main cast. I hope we get to see Huey & Wrip's human forms soon. :P
someday...
someday i can get them so i can finish my mod
I think we're just missing Wrip (and "Mother", from the comic) at this point.
warlord-of-noodles.deviantart.com/art/No-Evil-as-Humans-326723106
We kind of did on the Black Bart episode, but that was more controlled by her spell-in-a-bottle then a natural transformation.
girl1213
Yeah, she was shooting for a random little girl i felt. I picture her as the girl, more adult, with blonde hair.
Finally got to see Huey's in the most recent ep.
Just think what could have been prevented if they'd recognized Bart after Corn had bitten him.
I don't think Bart expected corn to put up any fight... Hell I didn't expect Corn to straight up poison him and knock him out, my only question is what's up with Calamity and her relationship with the town??? Please answer
I think that it's because she grew up in Hollow, and the people who raised her made her and Ichabod stay in their human forms all the time. It doesn't seem like the spirits like being in their human forms. I might be wrong though.
its kinda clear he would. he may be a gentle soul but if panicked and pressed he reverts to animalistic fury.
i also think that the spirits are sturdier than humans to begin with. soooo it means that while his venom only incapacitates his fellow spirits, its very deadly to a human indeed.
I love how he struggles through her name every time.
Calamity is such a badass. I love your voice acting for her, too! I have followed this series since the beginning and it's only getting better along with your art and animation. Thanks for putting your time and effort into this. The internet is a little bit better for it.
Poor ol' Corn. His instincts are both a blessing and a curse. Sweet snake :)
I cant help it, but i just love corn. He is so sweet and shy and i just want to hug him!
I love their human forms!! They're all so cute~
Especially Corn's :'DD
My special bby.
lol tries to attack rattlesnake...gets bit...perfect time for someone to come up and say what did you learn
that your actions have consequences
I LOVE Calamity's human form (well I love all of them, but her's is my favorite) and poor Corn!
as always waiting eagerly for the next installment
Hey, out of curiosity, how many people would be interested in a no evil subreddit?
yaas
Yes
Is there one?
LOVE IT! Human forms, backstory, character development, even some continuity from early videos. Bart got what he deserved for attacking Corn.
AMAZING!!!! Other than No Evil 15, I think this one is my favorite! The animation is very pleasurable to watch, almost every character feels more dynamic in some way, and I notice the voice acting has gone from pretty good to almost perfect! Keep it up Betsy! I'm a giant fan of your work!
BOOM. You mess with a rattlesnake, you gon' get bit, boy!
Corn's nervousness makes me nervous too. Everytime he's alone it has me on edge ever since Amarok tried to snatch him. Good to know he's got some good fangs on him. Chomp chomp!
Why am I not surprise Calamity has a tight dude's gang she hangs out with as a human. Joseph looks pretty cool.
Awesome stuff!
I love how in such relatively little time you have developed these characters so well. Keep it coming, I love this series
Once again good work. Your creativity and artistic skill is very impressive, and your project fills a gap in native mythology and folklore no one else does. I'm highly invested in your continued success. Keep up the good work.
I wonder if Corn walks around on a hover board xD
i love the way that they handle things like severe social anxiety. that's basically exactly what it feels like, when corn freaks out. now if only i could turn into a snake...
Oh. My. Good giddy auntie. Corn is too darn adorable! Easily in my top 3 favorite characters~💗💗💗 next to Calamity and Ichabod lol~
Corn: We're...looking for a friend
Charles: Can I help?
Corn: O-O *scared socially awkward precious bean* uh.....I.....uh.....I'm dangerous
Charles: You want to hurt me?-
Corn: NO! ;^;
My poor bean boy!💛💛💛
CREEPY CHILD IS CREEPY!!!! also, I badly want a plushie of corn, so bad.
Bart done underestimated Corn! Love the pop-corn joke!
Hmm, is the title from the story about the scorpion that wanted to cross a river?
Corn: raddly noodle of adorable anxiety.
The first person corn actually talks to has to be that dude 💀💀💀💀 the irony of this whole situation 😳👏🏽🧐
Ahhh, so Calamity and Ichy are siblings. That explains everything.
i just binge watched and honestly its amazing, this whole series is id love to see more made
There will be more. ;)
awesome
Oh my, i just relized why calamity said "how's the grapevine" to her friends, its a Reference too a fable where a grapevine farmer was like dying and he wanted his sons to keep the vineyard good so he told them that there was treasure or something burried in the vineyards so when the farmer dyied his sons duged and duged in the vineyards tell the grapes where really good and the sons realized that the treasure was the grapevines, and that the lesson was something about working hard gives off a good reward or something.
Passing something along the grapevine is gossiping I figured she just wanted the latest news/gossip.
THE REASON WHY ICKY AND CALAMITY ARENT IN THE SECOND EPISODE IS BECAUSE THEY WERE RAISED IN HOLLOW!!! IT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE
That's a face that says " Well that didn't go as planed. "
Quezecoatl is extremely shy and introverted (I can certainly relate). This is not at all the characterization I'd have expected of him, but I really like it.
I love the amount of Corn in this one. He's my favorite character :)
Wow, just... wow. I've been amazed by this series since the first time I saw it, and every episode there is always something new to surprise me. I once thought that I wanted to see this picked up as a series on a network, but now I realize that it works as it does, because Betsy retains full control. Everyday learning.
It's interesting what a ghost of the narrative Tlaloc is. I haven't gotten far in the comics nor know much in the way of Nahuatl lore myself, but it seems like he was kind of a big deal. Yet, we never meet him in person nor flashbacks. Only in notes, statues, and things from the past. Relics passed down to new owners, barely decipherable notes, the pump, and this statue fountain where he's more skeletal than anything. No one seems to really *miss* him, either, mostly just wishing for the convenience of the Fork skills. It paints a fascinating picture of what he means to the characters and story.
Quetzalcoatl getting sensory overload is super relatable. People are just...too much sometimes.
Corn is good and pure. He must be protected at all costs.
Icky suggesting Vinkle as the fourth person to use the tuning fork is actually really nice considering how he felt about Vinkle in the past
All hail the queen of myth Betsy Lee! May your days be amazing and full of possums. Or Sloths. Take a pick.
So... I've thought about it, and I feel so bad for Corn. In the future episodes, he's barefoot in human form, in a warmer town, during this same trip. Poor kid is walking in the snow with no shoes and just the hem of his robe or whatever he's wearing. Calamity brings pants and shoes but she has legs and feet in both of her forms, so her extra clothes are just as "human form friendly" as anything else.
I like how Corn just A S C E N D S
she was a fairy ahh
I just binge watched all of these!
I NEED MORE!
Theory time. I’ve watched this a few times over and I’ve got a fair few ideas about Ichy and Clamity’s family and friends.
Calamity does not like her folks, she was stifled like Ichabod but chose to embrace her spirit side unlike Ichy, who hides it from his friends.
Second, Corn and Calmity have some sort of history concerning the family. Something happened, and I have good reason to believe that started his anxiety. He also stated that he hasn’t been to Hollow much, so obviously he avoids it for some possible reason.
Third, Calmity belongs to a secret society, what for idk, but her phrase to her friend is similar to one used for secret societies.
Overall I love this series and can’t wait to see what happens next!
Huh. I always thought the phrase she used was just her way about asking for all the latest news, rumors, gossip, and yada yada... but that's interesting.
Corn is a precious cinnamon roll that needs to be protected
Icky is ADORABLE in human form. LOVED this one!
I love this series! But I only realized the main characters were spirits a few episodes ago.😂😅 Makes much more sense like this though.
Besides that, I just wanted to compliment you all on the voice acting, the animation and the storyline. It must be a pain in the ass sometimes, considering everything that has to be done. So thank you all for making this!❤
The plot thickens, ahhh, so cool! But it makes me so nervous, too! Two of the four seals have been broken already! I hate Black Bart, he's such an evil little brat! I wonder why he's evil though, and what he plans to do with the black ick? t's funny but you don't typically think of children as being evil. How could they be? Also, how is he able to control the ick and not get put under its spell like everyone else? I guess it'll be explained in future episodes, I just can't wait! Keep up the good work!
I AM SO PLEASED I HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING SINCE THE BEGINNING AND I AM SO PLEASED WITH THE SHOW AND HOW IT'S COMING ALONG!!
I am in love with this serie and I always wondered what they looked like as human I am so happy you did this
Question: When Corn and Calamity take their human forms, are they still cold blooded?
I think so. maybe when they shift, they create an image of sorts that masks their spirit form? either that or they just transform completely where everything about them changes? or maybe they switch between two forms, where their other form is transparent? idk
I'm noticing a lot more subtle stuff, watching this again
Touches JACKALOPE *
Jackalope : OH HELL NAH YOU GOT COOTIES GET YO FILTHY HANDS OFF ME
I love the little surprises that come up from lazing around at night... like being one of the first to see this. Fantastic as always. I'll be watching it over again a few times now...
'You know Hollow is about that sorta thing". Maybe the reason Calamity and her parents are so estranged is because they made her feel her nargual form was something to be ashamed of. And Calamity didnt want to adapt to peer pressure
i really like this episode, Not only did we get to see all their human forms we also got to see more of the story. I also liked how not every town/city is comfortable with the spirits there
I love Corn's VA! He does a really good job!
ahhhh! kitty has such a lovely human form!!!
the dialogue, the sound efffects, the flow of it all.... it feels the same as something youd find on TV! it still confuses me how this hasnt gone viral yet
This is so fantastic. Likable characters, compelling story, and a simply epic mythos. My only issue with this series is that I've run out of content. Keep at it!
I love watching your work though I always end up with more and more questions (its like dying a very slow and painful death) Anyways cant wait for the next one, No Evil is so amazing and you and your friends always do such an awesome job.
Oh I cannot wait for the next episode! I had heard in the winds a rumor that this series was to end abruptly, but surely not? More people must see this- it's so good!
That rumor is rubbish.
Corn and Calamity's relationship is a bit confusing. they don't hate each other but Corn seems to be both unsettled and calm around Calamity so I'm not too sure 🤔
Awww, Corn... I feel that. Overstimulation is a bitch and I hope he can get out of Hollow and find some peace and quiet again soon.
You have outdone yourself this time, Betsy - the backgrounds are stunning in detail and the animation is much more fluid.
Each new episode has me reeling for more! Each new episode is better then the last! Each new episode, I cring from all the dramatic and well written scenes. I love you... Never stop what you're doing, because you're doing it right!
This episodes adds so much personality to Ichabod And Calamity.
Oh my god you nailed it in one! Corn is exactly how a rattlesnake would act! I love your show
i cant begin to say how much these characters feel like people. i wish i had half the skill at making up people as you do.
Oh god I'm addicted to this series. You gotta make more cause this is amazing
Interesting to see the characters in human form, great plot twist. Great work as always. 'Popcorn.' Nice touch. Good way to end the day. Thanks

I love the albino Jackalope. I have so many theories for the end scene. It makes me wonder if Charles used getting bit to infect Corn. Take out their healer and it's a heck of a lot harder to fight back. Poor Corn.
Just noticed that near the beginning, Ichabod suggests giving Vinkle the fork to find the fourth spell, calling him responsible. A neat contrast to earlier when he was fawning after Wrip and suggested Vinkle wasn't clever.
Always, Always worth the wait!! :D Thank you for making and posting these!!
When i saw Charles appear before Corn i was like "nothing better happen to corn. I will be upset 😡"
I love this series, and await each new episode with baited breath. Great job on this one!
It does say a lot that Charles was able to talk to and get Corn's trust so easily.
Ooh! This is so good. I just love your series. Corn's my favorite character. He's absolutely adorable. I dig the shy guys. He reminds me of my character, Gabriel, who is also a snake. Anyways your such an inspiration to me. I wish I was friends with you. :-)
“I wanna go home”
Same, corn
This is the best episode so far. I like it even more than the one where Huey was singing the Peanut on a Railroad Track song (as anachronistic as that was), and the one where Huey ties a couple of rocks to his tail. That said, I notice that when they roll into town, Paula is still in her real form and hasn't changed to human...
Too far away for me to tell, her skin is darker than the rest of them. Similar cute little nose too.
lol her human form really isn't all that different.
Jinzo Clash I'm not sure why your post was removed as spam... I tried to mark it as not spam but I can't find the option for that.
For anyone who can't see what Jinzo said:

and to reply... I suppose so, but I swear I see little bear ears
I now have an idea for when they finally face this kid in a final showdown, if that happens, I dunno Betsy is full of surprises. What if corn bites him again, and says "And I'm not healing you this time." Actually no that might be a bit dark for corn, I dunno.
Awwww~ Why Corn is sooooo cute?❤❤❤
About time that little snot got some karma to the face.
