21 4R same noise in a drive thru, drivers window open- Squeak noise while stopped on the brake in “D” drive only. It goes away in “P” park. If you slighty move the steering wheel it goes away then comes back. Thanks dudes!
The best video ever put on UA-cam 😂 thanks so much. Toyota dealer have not been able to diagnose that annoying squeak for the last 4 services. Can’t wait to go there tomorrow and buy that gasket to fix myself. Brand new subscriber and very happy thank you 🙏🏻
If you push the rubber hanger back about 20-50 mm it helps. The part I was sold has a different number. I bought it from Toyota and the part is based on my vin number and it's a 2010, 150 Prado.

I described it to the mechanic before my first service but they didn't know what it was or didn't notice anything in the service that explained the noise. Hey , my 2012 hilux Sr has the squeak at idle & if I put my foot on the exhaust it goes away so would this be that also & would the gasket number u list be the same ? Cheers
My car isn't an LC Prado but, my exhaust joint squeaks with a new gasket. It didn't do it with the old one. Anything I can or should do? Bit of exhaust paste or something on the donut gasket? Thanks for the vidya.
My started making this noise recently, but only when the AC is on. Took it several places and couldn't get a definitive answer. Came across the video and placed my foot on the tail pipe and just like that the sound is gone. Thanks!

So when you loosen the bolts and it is squeeking. That is the noise my car is making when coming to a stop. I have just installed a new cat back exhaust and it still does it. Is this donut the problem and not the spring bolts as it sounds like the exhaust is moving with the squeak? Thanks in advance
Yeah my TD 90 series, makes that same noise. Boot verified! But great excuse to install a 3" exhaust to make tha Turbo spool earlier. As great as it is, making the old girl less of a slug is good thing.
Interesting video. I have a newer Prado 150 which is squeaking momentarily when going from R to D, sounds really cheap for a new car 😂 not sure if it's the hand brake shoes doing something 🤷♂️

It’s not really common to reoccur depends how you use the vehicle a bit I guess you could apply more tension on the springs by giving them a slight stretch or add the copper ease as mentioned

Mine does the exact same thing, when braked but only in D. Did this fix the noise for you?
For the past 3 yrs I've been putting the prado in N because in D at idle it makes that noise!! So stoked for this video. Beyond grateful!!!!

97 subaru outback, squeak had me running in circles, scared my throw out bearing was going. Thanks
Martin showed me that you if could press on the end of your tailpipe with your foot and make the squeak stop, then it was time for the new gasket.

Thank you so much! I thought I was up for all sorts of gearbox diagnosis.....fixed the noise whilst in drive and a foot on the brake.
