it's my paper mache paste, which is tightbond II wood glue and water

Couldn't you use a garbage bag and lay it over and heat shrink it to conform to the ribs? Again, you don't need paper mache.

Yes you can use a garbage bag, you can use cloth dipped in glue and many other things. My videos are about creating props from paper mache, you can build a ground breaker many different ways. I'm just showing how to create one from mache
