Been using the Tama classic stands since about 2018 and very happy with them. Would play light to classic rock and no problems. I put some No-Nuts cymbal sleeves on which are great. The Hi hat is good for the lighter music and the snare drum stand while I haven't gigged I intend to use it with anything.
I disagree in that the heavy duty actually saves more space in stage because you can control the amount of spread of the legs and things can be passed under the legs. In the lightweight and flat legs, the fact that the left are flat, they will cover more surface area and require more floor space for contact with the stand legs. Nice video man Cheers!
I have used the DW lightweight hardware except the snare stand for year's. I can lay into 22 inch ride and the cymbal stand is perfectly stable for blues, funk and jazz.
Another good video.. I first purchaed overpriced heavyweight because I though it was better until I had to move it around.. I sold all the heavyweight stands for lightweight.
Yamaha crosstown hardware really nailed it for me. It’s the sturdiest light weight hardware ever. I like the look of the Tama stands as well they looke like the original 60s Ludwig hardware and I use it occasionally with my vintage drums.
Hey Lee, thanks for saying so, im glad you like them. Yes you could, but i don't know any clamp that would go small enough to clamp onto the stand. I think thats the problem
I’ve been gigging with dw 6000 since they came out like a decade ago. No issues at all. I’d imagine hanging a tom off of it might be a little wonky. But I don’t hang anything off of them. I have a complete set 2 straights 2 booms, hh stand and snare. My next set will be the Ludwig flat base. I owned one Pearl flat base. It was nice. But I prefer the DW. But I wouldn’t pass up a good deal on them.
the only logical reasons to actually purchase lightweight hardware - in my opinion - is because they're more affordable and take up less space. that's perfect for a light hitter or practice...or for a hobbyist who never moves the kit. but for stability and consistency, heavy-duty or Aluminum are the way to go.

uwepeterson, Thanks for for sharing. I am looking for sturdy snare drum stand and I came across the Yamaha SS-3 Advanced Lightweight Snare Stand. My concern is does Yamaha snare stand wobble when you hit it? The other option was heavier snare stand from drum workshop: DW 3000 Series Snare Drum Stand (DWCP3300A)

nice one, i love them too.
A cervical injury from carrying heavy hardware made me definitely opt for lightweight hardware.
I could imagine, it’s crazy how heavy hardware can get so heavy in a bag

Heavyweight is great just awkward at times. Thanks for saying so and sorry for the late reply
I use DW 3000 Hardware. It’s a medium weight. But I also have a 9000 double tom stand as well!!!

Yeah i was saying to a few people that this seem to be a popular choice, and i didnt know about them till this video
Hey man, could you had a 10” Tom from a light weight cymbal stand? Thanks man love the vids!

Awesome thank you!@@BrendrumJones
I switched to Griffin hardware for most stands except snare. Medium weight, solid and great price point.
Cool, yeah I've heard great things about them.

Good review. I am on heavy stands side 😊
cool,
Yamaha Crosstown hardware - stable like heavy duty, light like the lightweight hardware. Best of both worlds.
cool, thanks John alway good to hear from you
1- Tama Classic hardware.
2- DW 6000 Lightwegith hardware.
3- Yamaha Crosstown hardware.
Yamaha crosstown is both sturdy and lightweight.
