great video man.. makes me think twice the ARC A750 whew,, great setup man!! keep it up!!
The hardware seems solid, and when it works it works well, just the drivers can be a bit sketchy. I haven't had any recent issues with it since putting it back into my editing rig. I remember the game "Control" ran better on it than my 6950.
The nice thing of the ARC GPU's is they excel at rendering in AV1, they seem to be the best cards for those kind of workloads, so some people I know run an ARC A580 or an A750 /770LE alongside their main graphics card which can be a Radeon or a GeForce and do all the AV1 encoding via the ARC GPU, just as long you have a free slot for this kind of option.
Custom Loop Water Cooling can be ideal thereby making all the cards single slot.
Very interesting video btw I have shared it in my community with credit to you of course :)
Oh wow thanks.
And yeah, they are good encoding cards, tho I'm curious what use case people are encoding AV1 for, it doesn't seem to be widely supported.
Your intro alone has me sold. Subbed immediately as soon as I saw music gear in a tech video. It's so hard to find SOLID info on what to get for musicians other than "BuY a MaC"
Yeah I dabble in music tech as you'll see, like tube amps and pickup swaps.
I don't do recording tho. Haven't in years. I installed Reaper recently for a vid, and I was looking at it like, "I have no idea what I was doing". When I recorded the intro, I kind of crash course refreshed myself on an old copy of cubase I had. My buddie made the drum track in Superior. I have a decent idea what you need to build a PC for production. I have a Playlist called "Claymore DAW build" that's about that.
did mine last year as well and did not have any of these problems with arc control etc. and I've installed that card on two different pc's lol
I lent it out for a while and finally got it back like last week. Put it back in my main editing system and it's been working fine so far.
And tbh, I don't remember what problems I was having in this video that you are referring to.
Oh, could we have the same, but with the Davinci Resolve?
I've never used resolve. Not sure if it can better implement resources for a smoother timeline and editing experience, but rendering results should be identical as I believe that would come down to the codec and how it works, which would be standardized no matter what editing you're running.
@@DATT actually Davincii Resolve will make use of intels Deep link technology if you have onboard graphics on the cpu and the ARc a770 makes use of that natively, how ever deep link should work with any GPU providing you can set it up in bios.
@@OG_Gamers_Live Hah, I've never even heard of deep link, but then, I've only even ran AMD.
Good old times when Cooler Master was making amazing cases... HAF, 690, Cosmos...
I remember the 690, it was ok. Never worked with the Cosmos. This HAF is so good I haven't been able to justify replacing it. There is literally no case on the market as good that suits my needs.
I still use my Stormtrooper, 13 y/o. Darth Vader action figure doesn't let me change.😁
I have my 6950xt at 2800mhz. I'm going for 3ghz with water cooling soon. These cards OC really well.
Oh wow. I can't imagine getting 3k, but then, I use my water loop more for quiet than cooling boost. I suppose with as much rad as I had for work with, if I was willing to crank those fans, it might not be unfeasible.
My AMD RX 6950 XT Reference card isn't nearly as big as yours. Whoooweeeeeee!!
Yeah they really beefed up the cooler. When I put a water block on this card, it made like no difference in temps cause the air cooler was already a beast.
Oh wow, that case is ANCIENT. Do you live back in 2007 still?
It is, and no, but I've yet to find a new modern case that is better for what I need. I've looked into replacing it several times, but nothing really suited me. It's just how good a case this was, it's lasted me this long.
Should totally go with a Corsair case! They're absolutely amazing for being anti-dust, lots of airflow and suitability for all system build types. @@DATT
@@JynxedKoma Which one ? How many 5.25 bays does it have ?
Intel Arc GPU's don't work with Dosbox. Just thought I'd warn people so you won't be disappointed if you get one. They did work with Dosbox about 4 months ago, but after driver 4676 Dosbox quit working, and for some strange reason Intel doesn't want to fix it.
Really eh ?
I don't think I've personally ever used DOSbox. Not knowingly anyway.
But that's good to know.
@@DATT Yeah, if you don't play any of the old games from the 90's they have at Steam or GOG, then you'll never notice it. I like my a750 a lot, but had to switch back to my RX 6600XT, and will switch back to the a750 if Intel ever fixes the problem.
@@wjack4728 I have some older computers. You might have noticed my earlier retro PC vids. Kind of figure if I wanted to play some older games for series, I'd just set up one of my old systems. I had a Sega Genesis binge early last year, got the ROM carts for it, that was fun. I mostly play more recent games however.
@@DATT I just started getting into retro machines a few months ago myself. Got 2 with the Slot 1 Intel 440BX motherboard, and 1 with the Socket 7 430TX motherboard. It was a job getting those machines setup and working properly, but it was fun. There are some old games that will only play properly on real retro hardware.
@@wjack4728 Yeah eh, def be fun if you didn't grow up with the stuff like I did. I think I'd be way more into it if it wasn't for that. And it'll be a hell of a learning experience. You learn why they called people "computer geeks, or nerd" cause you really had to be tech savvy to use them properly back then.
nice video
Thanks !
i watched upto 3:50 all your probs are a you problem.
Hmm, Only problems I was discussing up to that point was how my 6950XT didn't like the cheap monitor cables I was using. Yeah, guess that did turn out to be a me problem, I've since had to replace those cables.
who earns money out of editing that one wouldf not buy any of this anyway ,for that Quadro cards exists
True enough. The sentiment is kind of like, if you have brand loyalty, or are choosing a card for gaming first, what can you expect. I mostly bought the A770 for the lols, curious to see how it'd run. Spoiler alert, I pulled it from my editing rig and put my trusty Vega 64 back in.
I do and my 3090 T.I blows my old dual Quadro system out of the water for a fraction of the cost.
If you're using intel igpu that goes with your gpu.. your rendering will be faster..
Yeah, I'm not running an Intel CPU, but I have heard that. Lots of youtubes have mentioned using Intels CPUs back in the day cause the igpu worked with premier to boost certain features.
@@DATT but if your going to use intel cpu, start with the 11th gen that benefits with this gpu alot better.. And more efficient.
@@ausejoski Yeah no intel here anytime soon. I think if I did go intel in the future, I'd likely end up with whatever is the newest.
Yeah let's blame the driver devs for ignorantly not utilizing proper accessories...
Spend $300+ on Video Card, then use $8 converter, instead of the proper $15 cable.
Don't know about Intel but both AMD & NVIDIA spell out that they DON'T support video converters...
Please Don't pull this stupid crap & wonder why the manufacturers abandon the gaming community.
Their analysis is:
Charge 60% to 600% LESS than enterprise clients
Plus
Support cost of retail customers Increase from a minimum of 400% to nearly 2000% over servicing enterprise only customers.
Oh yeah, I can admit the oddball monitor was messing things up. But, the point is NO support or not, it just worked on the other card. Now, to be fair, when I set up this card upstairs, running 2 monitors and a TV using various cheap cables, it did Just Work, and work well. Then when I swapped out for my 6950XT, that card didn't like the cheap cables I was using up there at all, and had to replace a few of them. So it looks like we got some glitches either way.
it literally hurt to watch this, scatterbrained people bother me
Scatterbrained ? Hah, I don't think I've ever been called that before. I guess I can see how it might come off as that. I'll have an idea for a video, and just giver, might do a bit of prep, but mostly off the seat of my pants. I find I do my best work that way. Sometimes, things go smooth and everything comes together in a cohesive production, but other times, when I sit down to edit, I'm like "damn, I how am I turning this into a story", haha.
DDU all old drivers if yuou have these weird issues, amd drivers can cause some issues in my exp.. i ddu ALL BRANDS now days and have for years.. for non nvidia but even nvidia need it again now days in my exp.. i love my acer a770 :)
Oh yeah bud, def a lot of DDU going on working with this card. It does not like if there are any traces of the old AMD driver at all. Which means I can't use my IGPU with it.
@@DATT thats odd since amd onboard works fine with arc cards for most people in the intel discord, not close to as good as intel igpu but... yeah....
and my exp is that the big issue is windows itself not knowing what gpu to actually use even when you tell it to use the high perf gpu it will send stuff to the weaker gpu at times....bloody stupid... but welcome to modern computing...
@@AshenTech Well, I mean my AMD igpu. Which is new. These 7000 chips all have IGPU's now, but I can't use them with the Arc. It's kind of a moot point cause I have no need to use them, cause yeah, windows literally CAN'T use the igpu for anything other than extra video outputs. I did a bunch of tests at one point, seeing what I could do with the IGPU, like getting to to render the 3D of a background application, which the main gpu is rendering a game.
Stock it wouldn't do it, I had to use silly work arounds, then got it working, just to find out it doesn't matter, cuase if you are recording or streaming, OBS can only communicate with one GPU at a time, so it can only see the GPU it's running on and whatever is on the other GPU is blank.
rclick the driver pack, extract with 7zip, problem solved ;)
Oh ok, I didn't notice that was a 7 Zip compatible archive. I guess that could simplify things.
@@DATTMOST drivers are in compat archives, these days, always check if its a pack that takes "too bloody lock to unpack" ;)
@@AshenTech Ah, it wasn't the amount of time. It was having to unpack it like that every time I needed to reinstall them. But yeah, I kind of knew that, but had forgotten. You have reminded me.
