Every time I watch your videos I do something productive while listening. You inspire me so much and I would feel way too guilty being irresponsible while also watching someone like you! Today I cleaned my entire room AND exercised while watching your videos. The only reason I did these things is because YOU inspired me and drove me to do it. Thank you Mimi keep doing what you do :)

think of procrastinating as having momentum, but in the wrong direction. now one "law" of psychology is, that once you have momentum, you can't directly change direction because momentum is pointing in another direction. so what you have to do is to stop everything for a moment! take a deep breath and build distance from anything and everything. feel where you are and what possibilities for action are open to you in that situation. it will then be easier to pick the thing you actually need to do! once you focus on it, you will notice your brain making plans on how to set it in action. reside with those thoughts for a bit until it becomes crystal clear what you have to do. now you have built momentum in the right direction and you will have a productive day :)

I'm impressed. The last few yrs I have been completely down. I didn't think I could get up again. I'm worn out from everything I have been through. But everyday I can feel myself coming back. I am strong even when I don't want to be. Being the way I am I have made it through the worst of the worst. I have just learned how much I'm procrastinating in life. I did not know how to handle it because I never really noticed before this because I did what I had to no matter what and was focused. I'm a survivor. Thank you.

Awesome message! "The less you listen to it, the quieter the voice gets." In 2015 I almost never walked (for exercise). In 2016 I made a goal to walk several days a week. As I got more comfortable with doing it, it became familiar, and now it's a part of my everyday life. The voice saying I don't want to go for a walk today is almost not there at all anymore. Instead, a new voice that says, "I'm going to be good to myself today and walk" has appeared, and without fail, I always feel better about myself for having chosen to walk, rather than not. Thanks for the great video!

Another tip that helps me alot is not to look at the time because when u look at the time u'll say ill start in an hour or 15 mins and u keep procrastinating! So dont look at the time u just have to realize it finish it first and then look at the time

It's been 12 years now since I've been fighting procrastination, so far my method helped me a lot, I have achieved several things, but sometimes it still goes into my head. I was using 2 key steps. 1 "Self Forgiveness", 2 "Just Do it" .But after watching this video, I revised my keys to success: 1 "Self Forgiveness", 2 "Ignore Little Voices", 3 "Do it NOW" - Thanks Luxy...

Hi Mimi, I loved this video. To be honest I've been procrastinating about a lot of things for the past few months as I suffered from severe morning sickness. Since I was sick all day and night,my motivation levels were always on empty. I'm feeling much better and I knew if I wanted to get started on my small business ventures I had started prior to becoming sick I needed to get a move along . I've always been Miss Positive but felt I was in a deep rut but I've been slowly coming out of in the past week. When I seen this video on my feed I knew I needed to watch it but I didn't. It took a while.I watched your how to be successful vid and the light in my head switched. Today I watched you/listened while I sat organising piles of paperwork that I've ignored-so thank you for inspiring and always motivating me. Your like the rocket I need to be pro active. Your friend Rach x

Im definitely a procrastinator and for the last few weeks ive been working on it, and it changed so much, I feel better I do things straight away rather than wait, and my grades at school have gone up. I realised that doing it straight away is soo much easier because u dont have to worry about it later on.. great video Mimi! :)

Mimi the way you talked about this topic of procrastination is exactly what I've always dealt with. At the beginning of this year I started working out regularly for real, being more active in my life. At least 3x a week but recently I started working full time and kinda stopped for a week or two...but as soon as I noticed this I told myself nono I set out to reach this goal and it's hard but I have to keep moving! And now I'm back on track. Thanks so much for this it really helps!!

I seriously feel like you are talking straight to me!!! I struggle with this EVERY SINGLE DAY! and you mentioned everything I struggle with! I have my own business, so I work from home, and it is SO HARD! I seriously always have intentions to get so much done, but then it gets to be afternoon, and I realize I spend half my day on pinterest, or Facebook. I always feel alone, like there is something wrong with me because I cant ever get anything done, but your video has helped me so much! THANKS!

and today i was so close to say "i'm going to workout tommorow not today" but i didn't. i'm proud of that. it's really hard to avoid those little voices that make you procrastinate.. but when you start doing it, you just get use to it and you feel so much better after you do the work you were procrastinating for so long!

    Fantastic video!
One thing that is really helping me to conquer procrastination is to always keep my vision and goals before me so that I'm not merely seeing habits as routine but as the way for me to achieve my goals. It makes staying engaged to the process much easier. So when the temptations to procrastinate come, I remember my goals and vision, and even if I am already in procrastination mode lol, I get up and get down to business.
Such a fan of you and Alex!
    Thanks for sharing!!!

just love that video :) thank you for not procrastinating, but making that video :)
this is what helps me to do things, which I dont wanna do:
    1. I picture how good I will feel, once I did accomplish for e.g. cleaning the house
    2. then I smile (even if I do not feel much like it) and think of something positive
    3. I use "want" instead of "have" Like: I want to go the gym. Instead of: I have to go to the gym
And if I still dont feel like it, well then I allow it to myself and relax :)

Now with your video, I have realized that these voices are really preventing me from even starting to try and stop procrastinating, if that makes sense. Thanks to both of you. You're completely right... we know that we will feel great after we do it but there is much resistance to overcome at times.

I think procrastination is a lot like eating unhealthy. It's hard to start eating healthy when you haven't been for God knows how long, but after you do it for a few days, you start realising how good you're starting to feel.. and same goes with procrastination. Kicking yourself in the butt at first is gonna feel like climbing a mountain each time, but like Mimi said after a few times you realise how good and accomplished accomplishing things makes you feel, and it quickly becomes a habit.
I am getting better at kicking myself in the butt, but there's still room for improvement.. ;P
Thanks for this one, Mimi! :)

It's hard to shut the little procrastination voice in your head, but one thing that helps me is thinking about what 'future me' would have to say. 'Future me' is the me in the future that has to deal with all the things that I procrastinate about. When I don't procrastinate 'future me' is happy and always takes a moment to thank 'past me' (nothing fancy, just 1 thought on how grateful you are to your 'past self' for doing the job and not procrastinating).

Girl you are so right about the procrastination. That has been my biggest problem in life. When you said we are resisting doing something good for ourselves, it made me think on a spiritual level. I thought that's the devil encouraging us 2 not do what we need to do 2 live a healthy, fulfilling life. Take the easy road & relax because the other way is hard & doesn't relaxing feel better. It's a metaphor 4 life if we do the work of the Lord we will be rewarded n the end. ty 4 sending me this msg.

Awesome video and topic! Procrastination is nothing but laziness. I do the same thing after my makeup -- I feel so lazy about cleaning up everything, but I force myself to deal with it now instead of later. You just have to motivate yourself into getting things done now versus later. I remind myself of the prideful feeling you get after accomplishing something you put off and that's what keeps me going. :-)

I was writing one piece of work and one day I looked at the date of my first draft. It was 4 years ago!!! I thought to myself: 'I've been writing this for 4 years?! That's ridiculous. It seems like I just started a few months ago - maybe a year at the most!' But this is a perfect example of how days turn into weeks, weeks turn into months, months turn into years and sometimes decades. This revelation helped me go from 80 some pages to 163 and now I have too much to edit. But again, procrastination has crept in. I thought I have way too many, at least twenty or thirty, non-sense pages. Then I looked through it just yesterday because I kept thinking 'I can't stand to lose another four years of my life to procrastination' but I realised there are only four or five useless pages. That was bittersweet, but necessary. So, now I'm really wanting to go through the work in sections if I do a section every few days, I'll be done editing in a month. After that will be polishing and that's it. I can submit my work. I think the scare and realisation that four years out of my life have passed since I first started this 'new' writing pushed me into taking steps, such as printing it out, going through it, and marking certain pages, in order to continue with it.

As you said it's like that negative voice in the back of your head telling you don't do it or do it tomorrow, but it definetly depends of each individual to pay attention to it or not.

Procrastination is a real struggle. My favorite thing to do is make a to do list every day of stuff i have to get done, and i get a huge satisfaction when they are all complete, and i just feel so productive

It's funny how you can feel quite alone on these things and realise that you are not! I do it so much and have been trying to change but its not easy. My husband says to feel the resistance and do it any way! It's inner strength. Build day by day and forgive yourself when you step back then start again!!

Thank you so much! this was really helpful for me :) another thing I read about procastination is that writing down things like on a little piece of paper or whatever doubles the chances that you actually do it so that may be a good tip too! Love from Peru :)

Informative and a lovely the way you have presented. I personally like the statement "difference between successful and unsuccessful depends on the duration of procrastinating". Thank you.

Thanks Mimi! It's really helpful and one thing I would add is that when we procrastinate, we'd have to face the consequences immediately! That's one of the ways I convince myself not to procrastinate. :)

I've been A HUGE procrastinator considering my college work...somehow I finished it (thank God!) and I have to say that studying was my biggest resistance training...I don't want to study ever again :P...all I'm saying is that everybody has certain area that they procrastinate the most...so just focus on that and get it done somehow :)

Hey Mimi! This is awesome, thank you so much, but I think u should have added, at the end of the vid, the fact that after 66 days of repetitive action a person gets used to those voices, and getting up and doing the work becomes easy and automatic, which will mean that it has now become a habit. Procrastination is a conscious decision, and when doing the action becomes subliminal (after 66 days), it's no longer a conscious decision, you automatically choose to get up and do the stuff u know u should have done by last thursday :)
