Thanks for the tutorial.I'm a big Stone Roses fan,and also an experienced guitarist, but for some reason,I've never thought of playing any of their tunes at home or in a pub/house party jam.Right, best put whippet in't shed.
I've played guitar since 1987,full time musician since 2006.. You show us how to play the song without all the bullshit talking that most of the other guitarists do.. THANK YOU! People with consentration problems need tutorials like this. Consider the idea of developing A.d.h.d. guitar lessons because you have a natural talent for it. Best wishes Arvid Nilsen Bodø, Norway
Hiya , great tutorial pal, you've really nailed it ! What effects do you use to make that sound , I don't really want to spend money on certain pedals and stuff, I have a Fender Mustang 2 amp and I cant seem to nail the right sound , what do you suggest?
The Bm pentatonic is contained in G, in fact it's a G major scale without the notes C and G. So it's "in" G, but using only the Bm pent notes for those specific riffs. I hope that makes sense.
Em is the relative minor of G, so uses all the same notes, but I meant what I said. Simon used Bm pentatonic -- B - D - E - F# - A - which are contained in a G major scale. If the riff used G instead of F# you'd have Em pent.

D major pentatonic lick?
Hey, why is it in Bm pentatonic - isn't the song in G? Just a theory question, as that stuff confuses me sometimes.
