The unpretentious and charming guy Billy was is here for us all to remember with a fondness that only the very best can give us. I would have loved to have spent a few hours in this man's company and singing along with him with a few drinks. Only the Scousers have this kind of carefree and powerful personalities. Its why I have always like them and always will. God bless Billy and thank you for some of your great memories that you shared with us all here.
Billy was and still is a great guy, I had the pleasure of being in the Fourmost for some years after poor Mike Millward was ill and couldn't carry on, we had some great times together Dave Lovelady/Billy Hatton and Brian O'Hara it was a great time in my life BUT I left the Band to start work with The Beatles at their studios Apple in Savile Row as a cutting engineer and NEVER looked back ,Billy,Dave and original member Joey Bowers are always still in touch and will always be,we are great Pals.
God I wish you guys were still the Fourmost, the rabble going round now are awful. The Fourmost made some beautiful records, Here, There & Everywhere, Apples, Peaches, Pumpkin Pie to name just two. George thank you for your contribution to history.
You don't happen to know the whereabouts of Tony O Reilly, the drummer with The Koobas. I'm trying to interview him about his time in Yes. Many thanks. My email is mowbrayguy01@gmail.com many thanks
I am at the Burstin Hotel in Kent, the 'Four Most' have just finished, not bad but not that good either, I wont be in a rush to watch them again. 'Edison Lighthouse' are coming on soon, they call themselves the 'original' line up, lol. Not one of them are, clearly NOT Tony Burrows singing.
I'm just accessing this site from my home in Vienna during a bout of nostalgia. I'm knocking on 80 years of age now and all those years ago I was at school with Mike Millward. He was a great lad and played the guitar before anyone else I knew. We were good pals and were sharing the American original 45rpm recordings of artists like Chuck Berry before anyone had heard of them. When I left school and started work the club scene in Liverpool really took off. I still kept in touch with Mike but my career eventually got in the way, then I moved to the south of the UK. It was some time later that I heard of Mike's death which made me realize how vulnerable we all are. For the last 34 years or so I've been living in Vienna with my family, but I will always remember the Liverpool scene!
What a WONDERFUL GEM I stumbled on today! Great stories from Billy Hatton! His voice STILL sounds great! I could listen to him sing and reminisce all night!! So sad to find out that he passed away in Sept of 2017. Funny thing is, a Face Book friend of mine is in the current Fourmost! RIP Billy.
The late lovely Billy Hatton, great to hear his memories. I'm glad he spoke out with his memories before he passed away so they didn't get lost in time. Thanks Billy. R.I.P.
I saw the Fourmost at a dance at Hereford Teacher Training College way back in 1965 and they were most certainly the real deal! Perhaps the most accomplished band I have heard before or since. Thanks for the memories Billy!
Great interview , supported the Fourmost at the Devalance ballroom Tenby in the sixties, they were a great live band, and Billy ...what a humble man. Tells hit hoew it really was then.
I met him and got to know him a little while I was working in the Cavern abt 1966 - he was and I'm sure still is a lovely person. I really enjoyed this interview - Thank You
What a nice sweet person Mr. Hatton is. How lucky he was to have been living in England at that time when it was the center of the British Invasion/pop music world.
Many years ago I had just started lecturing at the Liverpol College of Buiding when a student approached me and asked for some advice. He was always late with his architecture submissions. He told me that he played drums in a group and didn;t get home until very early hours resulting in his architecture studies suffering, what should he do ? I put it to him " What do you enjoy most , playing drums or studying architecture because you can't do both ? " He said playing drums and I said " Well that's it then" Quite a while later I heard a catchy song being played quite often . It ws The Fourmost and A Little Loving Goes a Long-a-Long-a-Long Way. The now ex-student on drums was Dave Lovelady and I , a then dyed-in-the-wool jazz fan was so taken with it that I bought the record . At the time I asked Dave why my advice and he said he knew that, unlike the other members of staff, I went to clubs at night and would understand him. I make no claims for what turned out to be a great 'career' move but at least I didn't put him off . Still someimes play their record and still enjoy it immensely....it really is a catchy tune. I appreciate this post should have be about Billy Hatton but I'm sure he wouldn't mind. Were'nt they a great group .
I remember working with the Fourmost in the early 70's on the Bailey circuit, and they were a great and funny group.........happy days, never will come again !!

My great uncle is Brian Redman who sadly passed away yesterday and is there anyway I can get in contact of the person that’s got the original photos of my uncle Brian with his band the four jays and the original photo of my uncle with John and Paul
I was intrigued when I saw you Billy on TV recently...my mother's maiden name was Hatton and was from Liverpool. Her father and his four brothers were all in the Liverpool Philharmonic. You look so like members of her family (and her...but in a manly way!) Don't worry, I'm not looking for anything more than the curiosity angle.Maybe we are related or maybe not but anyway it made me watch your Ytube video and it was great to hear your tales of those halcyon days. Cheers Amanda Drinkwater
I saw a band calling themselves The Fourmost near Blackpool on Friday night - I was very disappointed, they weren't very good at all, terrible drummer. Cheesy banter that was embarrassing. Bit of research shows they are NOTHING to do with the original group. Just a pub band touring on the back of another's name.
I saw the current line up 2 weeks ago calling themselves The Kasuals sound shite again Come on Bill get a band together man it has to be better than this bunch of name bandits
A real nice man 🌟⭐🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

A lovely lovely man very sincere I did a radio show with him years ago and after 5 mins I felt I'd known him for years.

Is Billy on Facebook? I found a cracking pic of them modelling clothes in the Tatler magazine from 1966.

@@davidharrison7853 I saw that version of the Fourmost last year too - thought they were just an average pub band to be honest

Dave Lovelady is still alive and drumming.
billy great memories and times never to return
Saw the Fourmost at Watford Ex Services Club back in the Eighties.
Unfortunately, it’s only today (22nd January 2018) I’ve heard that Billy passed away.
Rest in peace Billy Hatton
He passed away on September 19, 2017 at the age of 76. 🙏😢
Rest in peace - I loved their music.
My mum ran into him on Bold Street a few years ago, they recognised each other. He was living on Huskisson st

Lovely to see Billy again, I lived in 37 Miles Street remember him so well, my name was Tomlinson my brother was George Tomlinson x good times
christ sake Bill sort out the Tribute Fourmost what a racket
I also wanted to ask you Billy if you still had your original bass from all those years ago?
I remember that -- it looked homemade! But it was actually a Gretsch Bikini. Apparently, they didn't make many of them, and they were crap!
From the source's mouth!
Brian O'Hara's mother and Wayne Rooney's maternal grandfather were cousins.
Great musical history memories. Must have been a brill time to be a young scouse wannabe!
