The reason beer is so expensive in pubs
And the building next to the Empire Cinema Site, Brosley House has also gone in 2022
Why is Widnes the last projectionist under Liverpool stories. Widnes is nothing to do with Liverpool never has been, never will be. Great video by the way, brings back many happy memories 😀

What a lovely fella. RIP Billy lad 👏👏👏👏🎸
What a WONDERFUL GEM I stumbled on today! Great stories from Billy Hatton! His voice STILL sounds great! I could listen to him sing and reminisce all night!! So sad to find out that he passed away in Sept of 2017. Funny thing is, a Face Book friend of mine is in the current Fourmost! RIP Billy.
I'm just accessing this site from my home in Vienna during a bout of nostalgia. I'm knocking on 80 years of age now and all those years ago I was at school with Mike Millward. He was a great lad and played the guitar before anyone else I knew. We were good pals and were sharing the American original 45rpm recordings of artists like Chuck Berry before anyone had heard of them. When I left school and started work the club scene in Liverpool really took off. I still kept in touch with Mike but my career eventually got in the way, then I moved to the south of the UK. It was some time later that I heard of Mike's death which made me realize how vulnerable we all are. For the last 34 years or so I've been living in Vienna with my family, but I will always remember the Liverpool scene!
A lovely lovely man very sincere I did a radio show with him years ago and after 5 mins I felt I'd known him for years.
A brilliant singer and lovely person .. he keeps the audience happi and gets lots of ppl singing along xx
This video deserves more views.
My mum ran into him on Bold Street a few years ago, they recognised each other. He was living on Huskisson st
The unpretentious and charming guy Billy was is here for us all to remember with a fondness that only the very best can give us. I would have loved to have spent a few hours in this man's company and singing along with him with a few drinks. Only the Scousers have this kind of carefree and powerful personalities. Its why I have always like them and always will. God bless Billy and thank you for some of your great memories that you shared with us all here.
had the pleasure of knowing Billy quite well he was best mates with Billy Fury by the way....rip billy x
ime there god save the florrie
thank you realy enjoyed watching this xxx
A real Fourmost! Wow!
rip billy
Bloody hell I worked with Ste at HBC for a few years. Hope he is still in good health.
I saw a band calling themselves The Fourmost near Blackpool on Friday night - I was very disappointed, they weren't very good at all, terrible drummer. Cheesy banter that was embarrassing. Bit of research shows they are NOTHING to do with the original group. Just a pub band touring on the back of another's name.
Many years ago I had just started lecturing at the Liverpol College of Buiding when a student approached me and asked for some advice. He was always late with his architecture submissions. He told me that he played drums in a group and didn;t get home until very early hours resulting in his architecture studies suffering, what should he do ? I put it to him " What do you enjoy most , playing drums or studying architecture because you can't do both ? " He said playing drums and I said " Well that's it then" Quite a while later I heard a catchy song being played quite often . It ws The Fourmost and A Little Loving Goes a Long-a-Long-a-Long Way. The now ex-student on drums was Dave Lovelady and I , a then dyed-in-the-wool jazz fan was so taken with it that I bought the record . At the time I asked Dave why my advice and he said he knew that, unlike the other members of staff, I went to clubs at night and would understand him. I make no claims for what turned out to be a great 'career' move but at least I didn't put him off . Still someimes play their record and still enjoy it immensely....it really is a catchy tune. I appreciate this post should have be about Billy Hatton but I'm sure he wouldn't mind. Were'nt they a great group .
Unfortunately, it’s only today (22nd January 2018) I’ve heard that Billy passed away.
Rest in peace Billy Hatton He passed away on September 19, 2017 at the age of 76. 🙏😢
Rest in peace - I loved their music.
The late lovely Billy Hatton, great to hear his memories. I'm glad he spoke out with his memories before he passed away so they didn't get lost in time. Thanks Billy. R.I.P.
I live in cairn street xx
Rip : Billy Hatton (9 June 1941 - 17 September 2017) Last surviving original member of he Fourmost
Dave Lovelady is still alive and drumming.
RIP Billy :(
Bill, stop boasting who you shagged 50 years ago and focus on the pub bands using the name
great band...loved them
I saw the Fourmost at a dance at Hereford Teacher Training College way back in 1965 and they were most certainly the real deal! Perhaps the most accomplished band I have heard before or since. Thanks for the memories Billy!
Jesus Bill tune the bitch first
Calm down Smokie lad, I bet your sister is still a goer !! Send the bitch to Spain if she still is, or better still send your ugly missus Now clear off and keep practicing the drums for another 20 years you Tosser Adios

A very pleasant journey , and a nice couple too. I recall visiting the Widnes Empire on many occasions, and have fond memories of some great times there.
Great musical history memories. Must have been a brill time to be a young scouse wannabe!
this cat sound like he had a lot of fun
As an 12 year old I went to the last ever screening at that cinema . The Boys in Blue with Cannon and Ball. Not a very fitting way to go out, as it was truly dreadful.
Lovely.Enjoyed that. Many happy memories of the Empire.Did'nt realise Mr Adams was the boss, I always assumed he was a member of staff working as commisonaire.
And you're called Smokie ha ha
What a nice sweet person Mr. Hatton is. How lucky he was to have been living in England at that time when it was the center of the British Invasion/pop music world.
Sweet black baby Jesus dont have a go at me because the Tribute band are appalling you must be the drummer
Ha!
Thanks for the note Bill, agree he is an ar**h***
Bill read the tirade of abuse from the Smoke below,Filthy mouthed dog bitch !He must be the bandit drummer ....Ha ....Ha
He got scared and ran away with his toys!
I saw the current line up 2 weeks ago calling themselves The Kasuals sound shite again Come on Bill get a band together man it has to be better than this bunch of name bandits
what is Steve doing now?
I was intrigued when I saw you Billy on TV recently...my mother's maiden name was Hatton and was from Liverpool. Her father and his four brothers were all in the Liverpool Philharmonic. You look so like members of her family (and her...but in a manly way!) Don't worry, I'm not looking for anything more than the curiosity angle.Maybe we are related or maybe not but anyway it made me watch your Ytube video and it was great to hear your tales of those halcyon days. Cheers Amanda Drinkwater
