Thank you so much Camron! You've been very helpful. All the screenshots on my Time Doctor App is about you because I always binge-watch your videos whenever I have problems with our products lol my client will be very confused :))
A great video and exceptional great content. Well-described information and helpful. Thank you so much for sharing this video online. I will surely share this video with my friends.
Thank you for your great videos. I have a question, after running PPC for about a month, can we use the keywords that convert PPC ads to an order for our product keyword?
Thanks for the video! For some reason when I click the keyword tab I only have search terms, platinum keywords and target audience? Why is subject matter not there? Thanks
Hi Camron! I have Jungle Scout and I was wondering your thoughts on picking key words that have moderate or difficult "ease to rank" levels and if it was worth it to put those key words in anyway or if it would make it harder to rank as opposed to only using keywords that have an easy "ease to rank" level? Thank you!
Keep checking back in the coming weeks and months for video updates. I'll be updating everything over the next several months. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Hi @Online UK Test! We advise our Amazon copywriting clients against doing this. You do not want to repeat keywords from the Title in the backend Search Terms for 2 reasons: 1) repeating keywords does not add more SEO value/ ranking weight and 2) Amazon's algorithm only indexes a keyword phrase once per listing. The Title is always the most important field for SEO ranking weight. But if you repeat a Title keyword in the backend, there's a chance that the algorithm will "skip over" it in the Title and only index the keyword in the Search Terms, which assigns less value to it.
hi, when i overlay my mouse on the info icon beside "subject matter" i get "Not Currently In Home". I can still fill in up to 3 rows (50 char each), but does that line mean that it won't have any effect?
Hi all, does anybody know how to rank for forbidden keywords for the adult category? Is this only possible via external traffic or the See Find Buy method? Thanks!
Hi Cameron, I don’t see the field “Subject Matter” in my listing backend. Did that field go away? Or is it only available if you have Brand Registry? I’m not Brand Registered yet.

Hi @J can, you're correct -- Amazon has removed the Subject Matter fields in the backend from many categories. What you can do instead is now use up to 249 bytes in the Search Terms. How do bytes relate to character limits? Byte count is almost the same as character count, but does not include the blank spaces. Fill the Search Terms field with a mix of 1) keyword roots (single words) and 2) exact-match phrases (long-tail keywords) which have not been used yet in your Title or Bullet Points. Hope that's helpful :)

I'm getting my first listing ready to go and I'm not seeing a "subject matter" field. The only place I see for keywords besides the front page stuff, is "search terms" and that only allows for 250 characters. Am I missing something?
Hi @K. Shafe, you aren't missing anything. In the last 12-18 months, Amazon has removed the Subject Matter fields from the backend of many categories. It seems to be on its way out in general.
Hi Camron, How is it going? I have been trying for the past 3 months to start my business on Amazon. I am at a roadblock with them. I have provided all the documents that they are asking for, but no one will return my email and activate my account. Do you have any advice for me or can you point me in the right direction? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Judene
First step is to at least wait 30 days to get a reply! This is a complicated subject, I plan on releasing a couple videos on it in 2 weeks or so. Stay tuned!
hi cameron, when a product gets sales, does its rank increase just for the keyword that the buyer used to buy the product, or related keywords as well, for example, if a customer searched in the word "apple slicer" and bought the product, does the product only increase rank for that phrase, or does it increase also for "apple" and "slicer" separately, or even "pear slicer" as well?
You will get the most ranking juice for that exact keyword, but you will also get a small boost on similar keywords and related keywords when you BSR increases :)

Not sure what that means, actually! Would fill out everything to cover your basis though.

My listing doesn’t have subject matter on the back end. Is that normal?
Yeah, it is different for every category of whats back there.

Depends, getting sales on those keywords helps speed that process up!
