I have to go back to this video to tell this generation how big Shalom is. I read some hateful comments that say she is not one of the biggest in the 90s, but let me tell you kids, this woman was a designers favorite. She screams HIGH COUTURE, beauty, elegance and charisma. Just because she doesn't like the spotlight and scandals like other models, it doesn't mean that she is irrelevant. Put some respect in the name of Shalom.
Although in her times models didnt just walked, they showed their personality she reallyyy was effortless and insanly talented. She didnt relay on a her pretty face she MODELED
Killer walk ?! Come on, compared to Yasmeen and Naomi, she looks like a toddler learning left foot right foot. Charisma ?! compared to Grace Jones or Iman on the runway, ..... no i won't even compare her to them, that would be too cruel.
Shalom is such an interesting model to look at and versatile, artistic and UNIQUE. Her face is just mesmerizing! her beauty is otherworldly! Ahh! And that attitude on a catwalk! She was creating different character for every look. That's a big talent, I think. IMO, she deserves more recognition, like Naomi and others..
From the moment she came on the scene (I think it was around 1992) it was quite obvious that she would become a star. She had all the qualities that could turn a good model into a supermodel. She was beautiful, tall, thin and walked with a presence. But most of all she was truly talented. A gifted model that seemed to love fashion. A very modern girl that captivated everybody’s eyes through her photos and her presence on the runway. And last but not least for sure, none of us will ever forget her legendary - iconic performance during the 1999 spring summer Alexander McQueen show. All her qualities that I tried to describe above were included in that particular moment that made history and at the same time made all of us respect her as a model.
i see what you did there... with the slow, theatrical, character walks, going into the stomp the runway walks choreographed/coordinated to the music. i'm not mad at you, that was a bomb piece of editing.
Whoever is editing and making these videos is a genuine artist themselves. Thank you for sharing these videos. You are transporting me back to the 1990’s and I’m loving ever min of it.
@@lissandrafreljord7913 These fashion show vids we.are can so easily see now were not designed for mass consumption as a complete show, Editorial and print ad campaigns were far more important to the general public, and that's where Linda killed and took no prisoners.
Until you put them side by side and then Shalom disappeared completely. I have met (worked with) both in the 90s, Shalom was beautiful like thousands of models are, but Linda was like meeting another life form from another planet. As someone who has met most of the 90s models I can tell you that nobody had the charisma and beauty of Linda (not even Naomi), nobody had more attitude than Naomi (both positively and negatively), nobody was more charming than Christy, nobody was more seductive than Yasmeen. The top three were definitely Linda, Naomi and Yasmeen, and in the top four you had to add Katoucha Niane (which ever french designer wanted and whom Mister St laurent loved above all others). And above those three or four top models you had the two goddess models who were so above everybody else, they weren't even in the competition. Iman, and of course the mother of them all, Grace.
Morgan Olfursson Interesting to read your perspective but I also think this is slightly down to preference. Personally, I don’t feel that Linda is anymore beautiful than the others. There is a level of subjectivity to all of this
By far the super with the greatest expressive range, she could do it all & did, by turns elegant, whimsical, and dramatic, a joy to behold when she's commanding the catwalk -- a flawless, feline beauty, both supremely refined & utterly natural, a true Queen.
Yes they were a great match. Shalom brought to life Galliano's creations by acting and catwalking on the runway. My most favourite is dior couture spring summer 2007
Yes!! I've been waiting for Shalom's video. What a stunning vixen, chameleon, etc. Her backstage dancing video of the Versace campaign is iconic; she's still got IT!
She is my favorite model. I love her versatility and her personality. She is very energetic and seems professional as I have not heard much about her personal life. I honestly didn’t know who she was until recent years as Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Tyra Banks, Linda Evangelista all seemed more popular. But I am stunned by how much more interesting it is to watch Shalom. I also read she was coined the “anti-supermodel,” and was discovered at a Cure concert! That’s when I knew she would be my favorite 😻
Shalom can be and interpret different energies and styles in an amazing way. She is the most creative and versatile model ever seen on a catwalk. More than a beautiful and stunning model, she is a genuine artist with total mastery of her body and spirit.
@@lissandrafreljord7913 Very true...but her walk is not as heavily influenced by ballet training as Shalom's and Karly's. Naomi 's walk is ...well...something else!!:)
What can I say?? You've done it again!!😀Great video, Great music.I'm seriously thinking of having a back to the 90's fashion party with your videos playing back to back on a big screen!!!
I think the word "greatest" has been overused a lot, just like the word supermodel. Shalom was truly one of the best to ever walk the runway, she was a true supermodel. She is one of the all-time greatest supermodels of all-time.
the dolls always used to go hard at mizrahi and oldham; they dont make angels like shalom anymore. shalom harlow is one of the greatest supermodels the world has ever seen and is still extremely underrated. you can see the intensity in her eyes and she walks with power. she was truly in a league of her own and was AND is the moment
When a former ballet dancer turns into a supermodel, it rocks .... :) , Very happy youtube algorithm proposed me this video because I just remember to have seen her on magazines in Paris without knowing her name and a little bit sad to learn such a beauty didn' t succeed in passing her genes and having a successfull career in Hollywood industry ... She seems to have a strong personality , I like that ...
YAssssss take me to church with Ms.Shalom Harlow and her walking to meet Jesus . This is my favorite of your runway complinations 'with the music , the moments and your superb editing you've captured her exceptional beauty grace and that touch of camp snootiness that made her the most exciting of the Supermodels to watch . Listen closely ' that's my gay ass screaming Hallelujah 👏
she goes from sweet and soft to Vicious, and everything in between. she left a great mark on the runway. and you did a great job on the editing, good choice for the track - very sassy! :)
No one can ever walk or do editorial as she did except maybe Karlie Kross. Every one of those 90s models is an eye icon but Shalom was truly the best and like Karlie, everything looks good on her
Everything about her is so textbook modelesque. The height, the legs, the face, the hair, the gaze, the charm. Her walk is absolutely fabulous. When I see people commenting on supermodels of the 90s and praising Crawford so much I don’t understand it. Crawford’s walk was lifeless and graceless compared to everyone’s but Specially Shalom’s
This is fascinating to watch. I hear all the time about Naomi's walk. Yeah, it's fierce, but she's like a robot and it's always the same. It is amazing to see a model vary her walk so much, depending on the clothes. It's more like interpretive dance, as cheesy as that might sound, but it totally works in this context.
The one and only unique Shalom Harlow! She puts her art into . modeling. Every one of her performances, commands attention,.one'is forced to watch her performance. She's a chameleon in all her performances. Her performance all different unlike others whose performancees are the same. Overall she tops all the 90s as well as today's models..my thoughts
She doesn't only demonstrate the clothes: she shows who you can be in that look.
Yessss
exactly

👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
In their eyes scandalous Kate Moss, who neither has a good face nor can walk properly is best😂. All she sells is her addiction
Indeed, she is an artist and a legend
Nobody has topped her walk
She’s still killing it!
Although in her times models didnt just walked, they showed their personality she reallyyy was effortless and insanly talented. She didnt relay on a her pretty face she MODELED
Today model more walking only
Todays models walk like robots
It's no wonder she was many designer's favorite. Absolutely high level glamour and attitude.
She rocks any length of hair, had a killer walk and charisma, and also beautiful facial features. My favorite model of all time
Alexandra and fabulous long but still shapely legs!

The only one that could go toe to toe with La Linda in terms of versatility, looks, etc... They were both like actresses on the runway
I was thinking the same thing

Shalom and Linda Evangelista were very similar on the runway; edgy, dramatic, witty, and poised, with confidence and charisma.

Shalom was both cute and classy, sweet and sophisticated, elegant and entertaining. Such a dual faceted model.
The haute couture queen. She was made for it.
Shalom knew how to work the runway. She made it look fun, she made it look effortless, that she truly enjoyed what she was doing.

A little more of her Dior shows would have been nice - Shalom and Galliano were such a great match

her fascinating cat-like eyes as well as the chameleon-esque planes of her face, made her captivating to look at in print and on the catwalk.
