Take it from a sinner who is keenly aware of his many sins, which, sad to say, has diminished my credibility as a witness to the Catholic Faith on so many occasions in my life, we must never pass up any opportunity to embrace penance with love and joy. I pray each day to live long enough to do penance here on earth so that I can have some hope, if God willing and Our Lady interceding, I die in a state of Sanctifying Grace, of spending as little time in Purgatory as possible, recognizing that even one moment would be rather painful in comparison to anything I could ever suffer in this passing, mortal vale of tears. "Penance! Penance! Penance! Pray to God for sinners. Kiss the ground as an act of penance for sinners!"
Pray to Jesus Christ for the graces needed for true and effective mortification. It might seem easy to start doing, but it's difficult to maintain as a virtuous habit on a daily basis.
A Priest friend of mine once said """every saint has a past....every sinner has a future""" I'm from Australia but if you can obtain a little prayer pamphlet called""""THE SURRENDER PRAYER"""" Words of Jesus given to Don Dolindo Ruotolo.""""" He was a saint and died in 1970. The pamphlet has his story. Its a Novena, and Friends,it has changed me and how I approach everyday challenges.Your Faith, Trust and Love for Jesus will grow in leaps and bounds.....Oh by the way I purchased it from ""Divine Mercy Publications Pty Ltd"" God Bless You......Amen. fa
Thank you and God bless you. Hail Mary full of Grace the Lord is with thy, blessed are thy amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus Amen.
I don't have time to go to Lent conferences and it cost money where I live :(. So this is very good for me to listen (at work too), learn and live my Lent for a better life! Thank you and God bless.
I just discovered this channel and it has really helping with my spiritual growth. Our Lady of Kibeho told the visionary about the body mortification too.
A few months ago, for health benefits, I started reducing my daily food intake to one meal a day. It's really quite amazing how the body adjusts to the one meal a day. Yes, my stomach makes hungry roar noises in the morning, but then it settles down. Also, I don't feel an insatiable hunger before having supper, so I don't "wolf it down" when I take supper. Now, I need to learn how to really fast, that is not have any food at all. I think I am still too weak for that.
Osita Onyejekwe just keep trying you are preaching to the choir here. It takes years just keep trying and when you fail dont let it phase you dont let it make you feel horrible, pick yourself up dust off and jump back on the faith train.
@ Caprica city, Just start by trying, your effort alone will please the Lord, you will get better at it with practise. None of us are worthy, Christ did not die for us, because we were worthy. He suffered and died because he loves us, By trying to fast you show your love for him too. Fasting is not always about abstaining from food, it could be, fasting from Television, or fasting from judging others, with everything you do, offer it with Love.
📜 ...to arrive where you are, To get from a place where you are not, You must go by a way wherein there is no ecstacy. In order to arrive at what you do not know, You must go by the way which is the way of ignorance. In order to possess what you do not possess, You must go by the way of dispossession. In order to arrive at what you are not, You must go through the way in which you are not. And what you do not know is the only thing you know And what you own is the only thing you own And where you are is where you are not. (this is the way of mortification, according to T. S. Eliot viz. Little Gidding)
So then wouldn’t we be bound by a perfect love to truly not enjoy these things? To not take part in licit pleasures of eating pizzas or flavored foods?
By the way Fr. said in the video he has a follow up on the mortification of the body and then there's one for the spirit. are ther links for those sequels? Thanks. Merry Christmas. Rev. 21:4
What about diabetics ? Why don't we supposed to do that need to eat to keep our blood sugar level up ? I am all about fasting for god sake ! But what do we do so we don't go into a coma because we can't eat and keep our blood sugar up ? Before I became a diabetic I would be able to fast but now it's almost impossible don't like the word almost confuse you if you don't want to die by going into a diabetic coma you need to eat ?
Diabetics are exempt. Your health circumstances are taken into consideration. This is the teaching of the church. So instead of no food, try just having blander food with less flavorings as an exercise or penance.

Wow !!!This is such an inspiration to me.Started without sunglasses and more to come.Help me Jesus to become a Saint.
A difficult road and one the world would disdain and shrink. What a great gift from above to focus on the Truth in this manner. An aspiration.
Concupiscence of flesh, eyes and pride

It's actually a popular diet fad now called "intermittent fasting", but is has nothing to do with spiritual things.
@@stevedoetsch that depends on the individual. Benefiting both ways does not necessarily lessen the benefit for the one imo
This is EXCELLENT teaching. Thank you, thank you, thank you thank you!
Such goodness, thank you Father!
i feel so sinful..so far from God..how could i ever get this good?

Concupiscence has made us so weak. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. We are weak creatures

I know that Video Sancto doesn't identify the names of priests, but the voice sounds a bit like Fr. Paul Nicholson, though I'm not sure.
Not Fr Nicholson but if you go to the website in the info section you'll see who it is
Video Sancto I think its Fr Michael Rodriguez if that helps
lol, they could've written the name quicker than the promotion but priorities I guess.
@@KnjazNazrath They try to keep the names private or difficult to find. Traditional priests need to be protected these days.

Who is this priest???👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Yeah that’s what I want know. He has a lot of recordings on this channel. I recognize his voice from video to video but it never says his name

Kent Barber Listen to Dr. Berg on UA-cam about keto and intermittent fasting, it's actually great for diabetics plus can be offered up as a Holy fast.
