I love this video as Cabbage Patch dolls mean so much to me for several reasons. I don't collect them, but do have all 4 of mine as a child, and all their clothes. The main reason I'm so in love with them is because I'm actually adopted at birth and my mother bought me my red-headed Katrina Carly at 5 years old and she explained how just like the doll was loved and adopted by me, that I was special and chosen by her out of love. I will never forget that day, or the love that my mother put into telling me, and explaining it all to me.
Oh my goodness Jenna! That is so sweet! She sounds like a great mom. 💕💕
@@ToyAddict Thanks, it was the most loving thing I hold close to my heart. We have our ups, and downs as all mother daughters do but I love her eternally.
The brown haired CP doll is so cute! I remember when these dolls first came out. I saw them at the store and thought they were so homily and who would ever want to buy them. Then the CP craze happened. LOL! The dolls did grow on me. And we had a CP hospital in Orange County, which is now gone. Fun find! Thanks for sharing! :-)
We have a TLC routine down for those in poor condition. Natural soap, baking powder, nail polish remover, washer spin cycle. I love to see them beautiful again! Great finds! 💕
Thanks Sara, maybe I'll take on the fix up project!
Great finds!
Thanks Michell!
And FYI that story is 100 percent true about Martha the original lady that developed the CPK, I did a lot of research on that topic in the past and it is just heartbreaking. I feel almost guilty for owning them now LOL. It was so very sad what he did to her just tragic.
Yeah, it's pretty dirty the way he treated her. I didn't really want to go into it in the video, but it's not great. That's for sure.
@@ToyAddict Oh I totally understand why you didn't want to get too deep into it on the video as this is a fun place and I so understand that. Yes he was horrific indeed.
The blonde girl is a #15 headmold Coleco, which were brought out in '86. The preemie looks pretty good. A magic eraser would clean up those marks on its bald head. The stitching isn't too hard to fix and are tutorials online for it, and he/she could be washed to remove body stains. Lastly, the brunette looks to maybe be a growing hair kid from the late 80's. She is super cute! Great finds!! I haven't been too lucky searching in my thrift stores. But the hunt still continues lol...
Thanks Sarah, maybe I'll take on the fix up project!
+Toy-Addict could i keep whatever you dont want
U have way to much time on ur hands
All I know is since I'm pretty sure it has a cloth body well then put it in a washing machine in a pillowcase so the plastic won't melt while the cloth gets cleaned
just put in pillow case wash on gentle cycle and air dry , if you don't want it I take it , im a collect love it
Unfortunately she didn't come clean. I could tell she was stained but I tried anyway.
@@ToyAddict I get it still keep it if not I like
just toss them in the washing machine , let them air dry and stich the one why give it back to the goodwill over a broken stitch , i'll gladly take it if you dont want the one preemie
Unfortunately, he had some bad stains and marks that couldn't be cleaned.
You'll be surprised what baking soda, dishliquid and hot water will do 😉 I have about 60-70 cabbage patch dolls myself and I had a few with some crazy stains and they look new again 😉
I also used alcohol on their faces and heads but kept away from the eyes to be safe
How many 3 cabbage patch kids dolls and clothes
why would you take it back to Goodwill because it's dirty clean it
does it really matter how the Cabbage Patch doll is in a good shape or not to me does don't matter✋✋
The foot is easily fixed and if the body is dirty it just needs to be put in the washing machine.
RainFlower MoonGlow he had a pretty severe dent on the back of his head and stains that wouldn't come out. So he did end up going back.
I saw one on ebay that had a really severe dent in it's head and they were charging a war price for it. I wanted to message them and tell them they would never get that for it but I thought they would think I was trying to be rude so I just left it alone. It's sad to see these precious dolls when they're in bad shape like that.
Hi, would you be nice enough to scan me that birth certificate (front and back) and email it to me?
