- I like this pouch very much, it is original and easy to modify.
The big bag ended up measuring about 8" x 5" x 5"
The small bag measures about 7 1/2" x 5" x 4 1/2". It is of a triangular shape.
The materials for both patterns are:
- Main fabric : 1 piece 16" x 16" (43 cm x 43 cm)
- Lining fabric : 1 piece 16"" x 16" (43 cm x 43 cm)
- Lining fabric for the side panels: 2 pieces 6" x 8" (15.3 cm x 20.3 cm)
- Fusible interfacing for the main fabric, I found that fusible foam keeps the shape better. I used Bosal In-R-Form (they do not sponsor this video, I am just saying what I used).
- Fusible firm interfacing for the side panels, OPTIONAL
- 1 zipper about 22" long, you will have extra length, but it will be easier to re-attach the slider later on.
**** SEAM ALLOWANCE already included (1/4").

Thank you so much for the brilliant description. It’s so much clearer to me now! I’ve made this a couple of times using another pattern and description and although I can sew quite well, I found it a little difficult and a little bulky. Yours is very elegant and has reduced all parts to a minimum enclosing all edges very cleverly. 🙏🏽❤
I am so glad to hear that. :) Happy sewing.
Best magic pouch tutorial I’ve seen. Thank you.
You are welcome 😊
I have watched a few tutorials of this magic pouch ,and yours is the best explained one. I absolutely love your tutorial and thank you so much for that zip tip.I aways struggle with a zip.i have tried you way with the fork It makes it so quick and easy.My husband attached a fork to the side of my sewing cabinet, and it works wonders. I just love your tutorials.🌹💞

😃 I am glad it is useful. 😊😊😊
I love this pouch. It looks a bit complicated, but I will give it a try!
It is easier that it seams, just do the sewing slowly. :)
Hi Marcela. Love the way you give instruction. Very easy to follow. In the video and on your site the outer lining
Oops. I hit the wrong button. Sorry about that. Anyway, one measurement for outer and lining fabric shows 17x17 and in the video you say 16x16 for these pieces. Does it matter or should it be 16x16?? Thanks!!
I wrote 17 x 17 as measurement for the fabric so that you would have an inch extra on all sides to draw the pattern in a 16 x 16 square, just to be in the safe side. Do you see what I mean?
Marcela's Purse thank you so much. I do see what you mean!
Thank you very much - really like your videos - very helpful! :-D
You are welcome and thank you 😊

Thank you very much for your comment, happy sewing 😊😊😊
@@MarcelasPurse i made 3 and i altered the size to suit, thanks to your video, really happy with the result and got loads of compliments 😃
@@samarachan8461 great!!! I am happy to know, it is very motivating 😊
I've watched several tutorials for this bag and your's is the most clear and easy to use. However I would like to put a handle strap on the top of the bag, Can you explain when this step would be done.
You can attach a strap when you are sewing the zipper, the strap should be between the main fabric and the zipper. Make sure you place the strap in a "U" shape so that the raw edges are in line with the raw edge of the main fabric, zipper and lining fabric.
I hope this helps.😊
What are those zipper that can pull out called? And where can I order them? Thank you! And great tutorial in explaining. I tried this from an another video wasted 3 hours of my life. Your technique is more easier.
Thank you. I use normal pastic zippers, make sure they are longer than you need, it will be easier to put them back together. You can trim them later. 😊
I really enjoyed your video. The instructions are well done. My only issue is is that I am a visual-type person. Do you have these written anywhere? I could not find them on your site and would love a set of written instructions. Thank you!
Thank you very much. I am affraid I do not have written instructions, I am very behind with my website (life has been very busy during the last year). I hope that you still give it a try, though, and sew along with me . 😊
Please can you fell me where I find the link to your website and the description box? I love your tutorial.
Thank you, it is in the description box below the video. You have to click on the little arrow on the right hand bottom corner, it looks like this: V .
You should then be able to see all the information. 😊
