- Here is my take on the Fiio KA11 dongle DAC / AMP. This uses a CS43131 DAC and has 200mw @ 32 ohms!
NOTE : This has sync volume and not independent volume control.

This thing is incredible for $30.00. You don't need anything more for your phone, unless you have to have 4.4 balanced. I haven't noticed any improvement using balanced thru my phone. I haven't even bothered with app or filters, just plugged it into my MOTO G Power, and it started working instantly. Has enough power to push my Hifiman Edition XS planars to loud volume with excellent sound quality. Has ample power for any IEM. All I wanted was something cheap to use while on treadmill and this surpassed expectations.

Fiio is music powerhouse. Bought several products never disappointed. However their software is lacking.

Great video, i have a question. How do you enable the high res mode? Like 32 bits ?

Do you encounter the same problem as I do: when switching apps, you have to unplug/re-plug in order to get it to work again? Also, when using Tidal, it's only able to pass through content labelled with "MAX". Otherwise, it is a powerhouse indeed!
No issues between apps with mine.
So I'm about to receive this "dongle" maybe this week or so. The volume can still be adjusted on the phone right?

I was thinking about this one, but everyone comments about how hot it runs. The 7Hz 71 also had issues with heat, and getting pops and static once it was too hot. Instead, I went big and got the KA17, which can crank out 650 mW in a unit twice the thickness of the BTR5. I think I might get one later after it gets some updates, and it seems like a great deal for a portable.
It runs hot but not scolding hot and I have tried other gear that runs hotter than this. KA17 looks like a beast but I never tried that one.
@@VortexReviews1Might be important to consider for people who live in hot areas, I find that I always need extra cooling for everything because things are tested at room temperatures
Tha have the 7hz 71 and it works really well. It gets hot but not as high as you might think.

Hello sir what iem sound best when pair with this Fiio KA11, for example Truthear Hexa or Truthear Zero Red are more suitable for this dongle .
Everything I tried with this sounds good. Don't be too picky with what you use a dongle with.

I'm using kz castor I'm confused either choose fiio ka11 or 7hz 71 or headphonezone ddhifi hi res audio. Which one is better for kz..? Can you please help me for a better one..
Never tried the Castor or the 7hz 71 but the KA11 is powerful for the low cost.
I am a beginner and I am thinking of buying an [ iem nuo ] headset. I have an Android phone with a 3.5 port and type c. Do I need this dongle?
Depends if the 3.5mm port is bad on your phone?

Wonder if this is a very rare case of a DAC/amp being too portable for its intended use.

UAC 1.0 is for older devices and gaming consoles. So set the UAC to 2.0 that would work fine.
Will my phone mic be disabled even if I connect earphones without a mic?
I don't think so.
Can it power the Sennheiser HD600?
I don't have that headphone but that seems quite an ask of the KA11.

How does this compare to the ifi go link?
That went back long ago so I can't directly compare but this is more powerful than the Go Link.

I don't have those to test it with but it depends on the sensitivity of those as well. It might not be sufficient.
Such a shame there's no volume control even in the app. Would have been a killer product otherwise. Volume control is of huge importance! The output power may prove to be a detriment rather than a pro in light of that as well.
There used to be volume control in the app and might need the firmware update as well.
