Great story, Great video, Great Buck. Your sentiments echos mine even after 53 years of bow hunting whitetails. I am 76 and think about bowhunting mature whitetail bucks 24/7/365. My wife and friends cannot fathom my passion. Thanks, from Tennessee
I’ve hunted central Nebraska for about 15 years. It has a special place in my heart. One of the best story videos on YT. My heart was beating watching. New subscriber. Thanks for sharing!!! 🔥🔥🔥
This is the second time watching the shot. You did an awesome job taking your time and patience to harvest this beautiful buck. Stories that you will share one day with your family and friends over the years. Congrats again.
this just popped up on my recommended videos to watch and im glad i gave it the time to watch! cinematic gold. this video real explains and sets a standard to the white tail community. instead of tagging out that last day of rifle be patient and wait for the right deer to come through. way to go Chasin the Dream! will be watching all your videos to come
Congrats very very nice buck young man. My wife and I absolutely love hunting in the great state of Nebraska. We are from Northwest MO and have been chasing turkeys all over that state for the last ten years. Some of our favorite hunts have been in Nebraska. We've harvested plenty of birds in Nebraska, all on public land. No bow harvest yet but maybe next year I'll get my first Merriam with a bow. Great buck and thoroughly enjoyed the video.
Great video and congratulations. I am 59 and have been deer hunting for 51 years. That being said I'm wondering if I could've stayed as focused as you did. Great job, and your narrating is spot on.
Just randomly came across this video in my recommended and all I have to say is DAMN!!! Definitely a buck of a life time but also the videography in this video is insane. I wasn’t watching some random low quality UA-cam video. This was a damn movie. Earned a new subscriber and can’t wait to see what you boys put out next, keep grinding!!! 👌🔥
Awesome film, fantastic footage, great deer ! That’s some of the best grunt, wheez, fighting action I’ve seen on film. Congrats amigo!! Colton Pepper Texas
The Snapchat group was stressed out that day 😂! Couldn’t be happier for you brother. Well deserved. My new favorite video from you guys! I don’t think it could have been done any better. 👊🏻
Just popped up in my recommended and I can’t say I was disappointed! Awesome footage, glad to see that some people have the bug just as bad as me! Incredible deer and you captured the story perfect. I made sure to subscribe so I don’t miss out on anymore more of these videos!! Congrats!!!
Wow ! dude first time subscriber. execellent job on this video. one of the best from start to finish. being in that honey hole with all those deer is priceless!!! super job Congrets on your buck !!!
Thank you! The shot was definitely better than I thought, I was pretty much the only one worried about it all that day haha. I just didn't want to risk it.
Great video and incredible buck! I liked the beginning with the food plot and the 360 construction. Who would have thought all those deer would be in that small patch of trees. Smart to wait and not take that shot. Gonna be hard to top that one....
Thank you! It's pretty amazing the amount of terrain and habitat types whitetail will call home. Honey holes like that little pocket are few and far between. I'll be surprised if I ever top this.
Wow just an amazing video quality, narrating, story line, and recovery. Amazing job on a fantastic buck! You gained a subscriber brother! Well done, very well done!
That’s awesome dude. Absolutely beautiful old mature buck right there. A deer like that is my dream to and I’m getting closer and closer every year. Congrats bud
It was pretty great this year as well, just not the right bucks. With what I passed from it this year, some of them won't be safe if they do it next year!
Video earned my sub!! That’s was awesome to watch congratulations and well deserved!! I hunt indiana I’d love to get out west I use to have family in Nebraska
Gunna have to change your title. Your done chasing the dream. You caught it! What a beautiful buck. Luv the name given to him. How long were you at full draw? I was in pain for you!
And also what people mistake the second rut for is late season when yearling does reach around 65lbs in weight, they hit their first estrus, kinda like hitting puberty
Nope, I tried to cut as little as possible, most of the cutting was well above their heads and I used what I trimmed to manipulate the trails a bit on the ground.
First of all congratulations from the bottom of another hard core bowhunters heart. And you said something about it sounding stupid to feel accomplished about you doing everything right in killing this hog of a buck, hell no , you should feel supremely accomplished and some for following your heart, not listening to your buddies when they said hunt him every day and every chance even if the wind is wrong. You would have not seen him again that year, maybe not ever if you hadn't used your head the way you did. I'm from north Alabama and we don't grow em quite that big here so in 30 + years of Bowhunting being able to kill 12 pope and young bucks is something I feel accomplished in doing. My biggest buck is a 158 inch 8, a clean old 8 and he's huge, my second is a 146 inch 9 I killed on Christmas day when rut here was just getting going good. You see how different we are but still the same. I live to hunt these awesome animals, no matter where I call home and I love feeling accomplished and you should to cause you accomplished something great brother don't forget it. Was that a Mathews you was shooting? I've owned about 15 different Mathews and love em , I got me a PSE Carbon Air Stealth a couple years ago and I really love it. It's fast and quiet, I'm shooting 301 at 396 grains at 65 pounds but went a bit heavier shooting 280 at 485 grains at same 65 pounds. I also been shooting a two blade cut on contact head and haven't been worried about hitting a shoulder anymore, I bust through and break both now hsha, instead of avoiding em. Good luck every year and take care brother.
That's just is not hunting. At all see for miles the deer have no chance. Shooting fish out of a barrel. Way different then the way the men were raised down home in ky and it was mainly about the deer meat.
Had no chance? If you truly think that your a moron! Your salty as hell. Just say “I can’t kill big deer so I call myself a meat hunter” gtfoh clown 😂🤡
You can't afford to knock on a door and get permission? You can't afford to work your tail off year in and out? Couple farm boys working to grow and pass big bucks to get giant status. Put in the work. Get the reward.
Have you ever tried? I'm a bluecollar family man living paycheck to paycheck most weeks you literal most typical southern deer hunter. I could make a deer like that happen if I put in the work for sure. It takes years of trying and dedication. Also takes years of passing 3.5 and 4.5 yr old deer(I don't, but most do) it's anyone's ball game as long as you put the work in. Don't be ridiculous.
What about this looked easy? I grew up hunting solid timber bluffs and ag most of my life, this area is pretty wide open with no ag and much fewer deer. Having hunted both, this was much harder with a bow than hunting solid timber back home. Neither place is easy, especially with a bow, and patterning mature deer isn't easy.
@@chasinthedreamtv the open.. easy to find them.. you did a great job wasn't bashing you!! And I know pattering mature bucks isn't easy.. I hunt in Georgia and killed a 154 inch 6.5 year old trust me that wasn't easy at all
@@wesleyhannah7002 haha I wish they were easy to find. The small areas with cover are extremely thick, these deer travel a long ways and rarely have much of a pattern. Most of their travel through the open is in the dark. Getting close to them is hard with extremely limited places to even hunt them from, let alone getting somewhere you can hunt without spooking them from hundreds of yards off. Nothing easy about this, which the video shows. What it doesnt show is the dozens of days I spent hunting with no success, easy right.
@@chasinthedreamtv ?? Like I said isn't easy just easier than trying to find them in thousands and thousands and thousands of real thick.. quit honestly did seem easier.. and I Know it took time. That's why alot of people where I'm from go to the Midwest to hunt exactly like I have done and it was so much easier
