  • This is a guide to make your life easier on what sizes of wheels and tire fit and do not fit on the FK8 Type R. Most of the pictures where taken from CIVIC X wheel fitment thread. It is a very informative thread. If you have any doubts about a certain wheel and tire fitting the type r, I would suggest to go there. Hope you enjoy the video as always.
    ET38:
    - 265/35 on 18x9.5 et38 will not rub if you twist front fender tab inwards while lowered on swift springs.
    - Best way to avoid rubbing on a 18x9.5 et38 is running 255/35r18 tires.
    ET35:
    - I did not touch 18x9.5 et35 since some people state that it rubs at stock height with 265/35 tires and some say that it does not. For sure this size of wheel and tire lowered will rub but at stock height it may be a 50/50.

False. I have 275/35/18 on a 18x9.5 +45 lowered with rsr’s and I do not rub. At all. To me, I have the perfect setup.

I’m looking at purchasing a set of wheels and I wanted to know what setup would work best. I’m looking for the wheel to be flushed with the fender not allowing the wheel to rub. I do not plan on lowering that car neither, what do you think? 18x9.5 255/40? Or should I do 19x9.5 since Im not looking to lower the vehicle?

Are you saying if the offset is lower than 55, the torque steer will increase? How noticeable is the torque steer at an offset of 45?

  • @cezar3

Dunno if i will get a response, but do you think would there be any rubbing issues with 19x8.5 ET 40 with 245/30 tires? Stock suspension.

I’m on 245/40/18 with a +22 offset, -3.5 camber with no fender work, no rubbing

I’m on 255/40/18 with 9.5+45. Lowered an inch all around. I had 265/35 but had horrible mpg and the Speedo was of. With 255/40 Speedo is correct and way better mpg and also more comfortable but I do rub in the rear. Currently doing research on where and how to trim but I can’t find any thing good. I only rub in one spot and I don’t want to trim because I’m scared it’ll cut my tire and I also don’t want to trim the whole fender because that’s where the wide body flare hangs on to.

Some info from my experience with 18x9.5 +35. With a 265/35 tire, it may or may not rub at a stock ride height depending on tire choice. Some tires, such as pilot sports, tend to be wider with thicker sidewalls. These will rub on the sidewall over bumps with passengers, or over large bumps without.

Do you think 18x9.5 + 22 with 215/40/18 tires would be ok with spoon springs minimal drop? I like that deep dish look and don’t really want to modify fenders or cut anything.

Thanks ! If only I can watch this video before purchasing my wheels D: But luckily mine doesn't rub as well

Hi thanks for the information, I am kind of confused your set up is 255/40 on a 9.5 wheel and the tire looks flat on side, I though a 255 on 9.5 will be stretched because a 9.5 wheel is actually 10.5 thickness?
