    I don't recall you mentioning Dolby Access before. I turned that on on my OG Galaxy Book Pro 360 - What a difference! This is why I watch your videos, even for devices that I haven't upgraded to. You have some of the most useful Samsung centered videos out there. Keep up the great work.

      Hi Dan, thanks for another visit! It's actually in the very first video I ever posted on this channel, seems like forever ago, lol! It sure does make a HUGE difference, and I'm just stunned that Samsung has it disabled out of the box on this year's model and the original GB Pro 360. Strange thing though, I'm almost certain it was enabled by default on last year's book2 pro 360. One year off, one year on, one year off, ha ha.

    I wish the Book3 had a hole to inser the Pen like the S23 Ultra does. That's seriously so helpful.

      I agree, and thank you for stopping by again. There's an older model called teh Flex (I think, pretty sure) that had a silo for the s pen. But so far, none of the galaxy book machines have had it. It sure would be nice, I'm always afraid of losing it.

      At the time when the Flex selling (the Flex line has stopped at the 11th Gen Intel, call Flex 2), people are complaining the S Pen is too tiny, not great for drawing only acceptable for casual note taking, that's probably why Samsung hasn't update that range any more.

    • @iDacian
      @iDacian Рік тому +1

      There is so much space where the pen, could possibly be inserted...but no.. let's keep it outside, users might lose it so we can sell them later...😅.

      You should get the Wacom staedtler pen. It's a real wood pencil with a Wacom tip. I would swap the tip from the Samsung pen but that's a preference thing.

    Also Sir, I would like to ask,
    1. Is the RAM Soldered in, or is it removable and expandable ?
    Similarly, is the SSD Soldered in or is it expandable?
    2. Also Sir, does it also have the Samsung Secure Folder 📁 where we can securely store and hide our files, like it does in Samsung Smartphones and Tablets?
    Thanks in Advance. ❤

      @RADERTECH  Рік тому +2

      Hi, thanks for watching!
      1. Yes, the RAM is soldered on and can't be upgraded. The SSD is not soldered, you can replace it and also install a second SSD if you like.
      2. Yes, it does have a version of Secure Folder called Privacy Folder that's found in the Samsung Security app. You also have File Tracker, which breaks down usage very well.

    Hi great video.. I purchased the Samsung pro 3 to use with waves LV1 sound system mainly because of the touchscreen, but when I heard the default sound it was dreadful in comparison to my Lenovo despite it been 2k more expensive!!
    Still I’m hoping to get the sound right…
    Could you tell me how I can stop the screen colour from fading in snd out… I tried everything 🙈

    • @RADERTECH
      @RADERTECH  3 місяці тому +1

      The sound is pretty terrible until you enable Dolby Atmos, it helps a lot. I don't have any issues with colors fading in and out, that sounds very odd. I would suggest going into your Display Settings, and check for things like HDR turning on automatically and also the color profile mode you're in.

      HI, thank you so much for watching! I'm glad the audio tip was useful, that sure is a big one on these galaxy book laptops.
      Samsung TV? No
      Browser? Edge and FIrefox, mostly Edge these days. I still use Chrome for it's extensions though, I'm kind of stuck relying on a couple of them.
      Anti-Virus? I sue the default Windows Defender and Malware Protection that's already pre-installed. After you uninstall McAfee, type Anti Virus in the start menu, and that will take you to a settings page that will let you pick Windows Defender as your default anti-virus.

      Thank you, appreciate you watching! Don't pull on those keycaps, it's not that type of keyboard. You're stuck with what's there, please don't try to customize it.
      You can use any s pen you can find for it, except for the Fold Edition s pen. It doesn't work right with it at all. If you start a chat session with samsung, they should be able to provide with a sku # for the OEM replacement s pen for the 360 pro, and you can just order it. Or any of the tablet s pens, but do understand the bluetooth features won't work on the galaxy book, that's just on the galaxy s tablets and s series phones.

    Hey, I've learned a LOT from your videos !! 😃👍 I have two questions for you . .

    2.) If so, does said laptop, charge said pen ?

    • @RADERTECH
      @RADERTECH  Рік тому +1

      Thank you for your kind words, I really appreciate it. Sadly, the answer to both questions is No. Well, sort of No. It does work with Bluetooth s pens, like the s pen pro, but you don't get any of the cool added functionality like you do with galaxy tab and s series s pens. But they will work with it. And no, it won't charge it, so you'd want to use the Pro version since it has usb-c charging. I'd just stick with the one that comes with personally.

      Bluetooth connection for S Pen is only design for Air action, like using the pen as a remote shutter of camera (which probably not really needed on a laptop). One cool thing of that air action on a laptop tho (if it's available), is that if you connect to a projector in a PPT presentation, you can press the button on the pen and swing left or right to change slide without touching the screen (which is something you can do on Tab S8)

I would personally open up Dolby Access and enable it from there, and make sure the Dynamic EQ is active to start with. Hi Rader, regarding proper handling: I noticed on the Book 2 Pro 360 that, like you said, there is most screen flex on the side with the hinges while on the other side the display appears pretty solid. Yet almost all review videos show someone painting or writing on it with his/her hand reaching from the side with hinges onto the screen in tablet mode, exposing the soft edge of the screen to the most frequent pressure.
    This has puzzled me because I always painted on it with my hand coming from the more solid side in tablet mode.
    Maybe one or two small pieces of adhesive felt on the back of the "soft" edge of the display just thick enough to fill in the small gap between display and chassis will prevent screen flex whenever the hand reaches that area while painting in tablet mode.
    The same could be done on the front side of the chassis where the soft edge of the display touches down while folded. While renting the device I simply shoved several small sheets of paper into the gap underneath the soft edge of the display, thus eliminating screen flex.

      Hi, thanks for stopping by again. You make some great points, and that's also a good idea to help with the flexing. Honestly, I think a lot of folks are just a bit careless too, and that's why they run into problems with cracked screens. We take our tech stuff seriously, but a lot of folks just throw these machines around like they're toys.

    • @RADERTECH
      @RADERTECH  Рік тому

      Hi, thanks for watching! You may be suffering from something knows as PWM Flicker. Samsung uses pulse width modulation on their OLED panels, and some folks can be sensitive to it. The biggest thing that seems to help folks that suffer from this is to turn the brightness up higher than what you normally would. PWM usually goes away for the most part at higher brightness levels. If this doesn't help, it may be a case that you're just not going to be okay with OLED based panels that use PWM. If that turns out to be the case, I'd suggest returning it, because you'll just end up suffering in the long run.

      Hi, thanks for stopping by and watching.
      That's a good point, and one I've never looked into. If I had to put a guess as to why it's not possible (or at least easily), is because Secure Folder would have to load up another instance of the emulated android system, the one creatable via the Subsystem components you mentioned. It's likely a limitation of securely running the second instance inside of itself, if that makes sense? I could be talking out my rear though, just guessing based on my experience with WSA.

      Thank you so much! I can walk you through it right here. There's an extra 2280 slot towards the upper right corner, assuming you have the machine flipped over the back taken off. So you can use a 2230 or 2280, last year we just had 2230, and 2280 on the original book pro 360.
      You can upgrade the included one if you want as well. I'd personally just throw a secondary one in and be done with it. Doing a clean windows install on these galaxy books is a bit of a pain, especially if you want to get every re-installed, including the baked in Dolby Atmos license. It can get a bit tricky and time consumining.
      The latest SSD install on the book3 pro 360 I see on reddit is for a "SN770 M.2 2280 2 TB" in the secondary slot. As with most things reddit, take with a grain of salt.

    I just ordered the galaxy book3 pro 14". Might be a stupid question but can I bump the resolution down to something like 1920x1200 w/60hz refresh to save battery life if I wanted to? Also, do you know if these devices are linux compatible? I'm thinking about installing a 2nd SSD in the 2nd slot it has and having windows/linux on separate drives.

      Hi, thanks for the great questions, and I'm sorry for the slow response.
      Yes to all of your questions :) You can scale down in resolution, including 1080p, and also force it to 60hz, 120hz, or have it switch on its own - it's pretty sweet.
      Linux is no issue at all, there's plenty of reddit posts and forums where folks dive deep into running Linux on the Galaxy Books. You should have minimal to no issues running it from what I'm seeing.

    If that is the cause of cracked screens, then Samsung needs to redesign the hinge area to stiffen the area. No point in having such a thin & light laptop, if you have to completely baby it. Makes more sense to go with a more physically robust machine. I need a laptop that can live up-to being carried around in my 40L backpack’s laptop compartment. Which like most travel bags these days, is right up against your back.

    • @RADERTECH
      @RADERTECH  Рік тому +1

      Hi, thanks for watching. You don't have to complete baby it, but you do want to make sure you're not putting much weight directly up against it, say from a lot of books pressing up against it while it's on your back. This isn't the machine for that, you'd want something like a ThinkPad, it's designed to take more abuse.
      I personally beat the crap out of mine, the new model is made out of Aluminium, so it's not flexing or breaking easy. But if you're throwing it in a full backpack ofthen, I"d probably go with another model personally.

      @@RADERTECH Thanks for the reply and I will keep that in mind when I'm ready to pull the trigger on a new machine.... I'm attracted to the 2-1's because I do enjoy drawing when I get the itch. Hey, what's your take on S8 ultra vs Book3pro360.. I consume media a lot and work on Excel and Internet browser

    • @RADERTECH
      @RADERTECH  Рік тому

      This comparison sounds like a great video idea, thank you!
      Oh wow, this is a tough one. If you value s pen input, the tab s8 ultra destroys the book3 pro 360, hands down. But for media consumption and web browsing, oh my, that's a close call. I'd have to give the slight nod to the book3 pro 360. For Excel, it really depends on if you can get by with the android version, or if you need the full fledged MS Office 365 version that you can install locally - for VBA support, macros, advanced formulas, all that jazz. In that case, i'ld lean more on the book3 360.
      If I didn't have a laptop and a tablet already and could only get one - Book3 Pro 360, you'll be able to get more done with it.

      @@RADERTECH Thank you for the response. True, it can be a great video since both products offer a lot of similar things. Price difference is not much. In France, top variant of S8 ultra with keyboard cost around 2100€, and same is the price of Book 360. Both have great displays. Book 360, being really slim and foldable provides similar experience like a tab, although a bit bulkier than tab but offers Windows 11 which balances the trade off. So these 2 products are really similar. Very to difficult to choose one, this will be great video. Waiting for it.

    • @michaelma3385
      @michaelma3385 Рік тому +1

      regarding the things you mentioned, the only thing that Tab S8 is NOT going to win is Excel. Because the Android version MS 365 is a simplified version, you get much fewer options/functions, or maybe it's there, but you need to dig into and find it. But for media consumption or web browsing, the android versions are much smoother (just simply like the UA-cam app on Android vs the Windows store App version vs the youtube on web browser)Android is definitely the smoothest, and you can watch the video but still read the comment at the same time, but web version? once you scroll down for comments, you can't see the video.
      On hardware side, on TAB S8 U, you won't feel ANY heat even after 2hrs of video, but the laptop will still have a bit of heat, or you have to turn off the silent mode to let the fan run, but it's gonna make some noise, that's another problem.
      Don't get me wrong, the Book 3 pro 360 is a fantastic piece of art, if you need more connectivity, a better keyboard, running Wndows software (you can emulate Android apps on Wndows but not another way around.
      put it simple. If you mainly just read Excel files and do a little edit, Tab S8 U. If you need to build an Excel file from scrap and want to do a proper one, then Book 3 pro 360

      I'm sorry this video wasn't helpful for your particular machine, this one is scpecifically for the book3 pro 360 model. Besides McAfee, most folks would want to keep most of the Samsung apps, like S Notes, Quickshare/linkshare, Screen Recorder, stuff like that. While other apps, like the Samsung Gallery app, are quite questionable, since it's already a built-in feature of Windows. I'll feature this in an upcoiming Q&A video, you bring up a good point.

    What happens if you do a clean install of Windows? I usually do that to get rid of bloat (like I saw TikTok is pre-installed on there) but I actually do want to keep a lot of Samsung's stuff. Can you reinstall those programs?

      Hi, thanks for stopping by. Yes, you do a fresh install, I've seen plenty of folks talking about it on reddit. Once you have the installation wrapped up, you should be able to install the Samsung Update app from MS store (I'd check prior to make sure), then from there you can start hand picking which Samsung apps and services you want to install. I'm sure you'll into a couple of snags along the way, but I can't imagine it being too bad.

      Hi Ben, thanks for watching. I've been hearing of this happening for a few folks now, hopefully this doesn't become the new normal. I just did a couple test on mine to see if the behavior on mine has changed. I did a regular Restart, and I also did a complete Shut-down and started it back up fresh. Both times, the Fn key remained locked, it didn't change. I promise I'm doing anything else special, just one press of Fn+F12, and I haven't pressed it again since. Well, one time I recall having to after a firmware update, but that's the only time I can remember. Please check the Samsung Update app on the laptop to make sure you have all the latest updates. But for me personally, it's just always worked regardlesss if I'm on the latest updates or not. Are you in the United States? I'm trying to get a feel for this issue, as it seems odd to only be impacting some users. Also, do you have the Book3 Pro 360, or regular Book3 laptop? I'm wondering if it may be model specific.
