Even if Demon Souls was the first one, it had his own fights what were just different than the rest. Some were puzzle fights, others were against really aggresive foes, other times the environment played against, and with Astrea you encountered someone who didn't wanted to fight. Garl Vinland surpassed you, but he was not aggresive, and Astrea can't fight, just lay somewhere you can't reach without getting the plague. You even could shot at her at distance, hear her begs, and kill her just to see Garl Vinland lower his arms while feeling defeated. Demon Souls will get a remake, and i know there wil be differences, but i really wish to see this fight as similar it can be at the original, but with the capacities and limits that DS3 has. This deserves it.

I know I wasn't part of this conversation but I do feel they either missed the intent of the original songs implication on the situation or (and unfortunately more likely) they knew a lot of gamers just want their epic belting chorus's. Pretty much all of the remake is a improvement but this was by far the one area of the game the first will likely never be surpassed by (well, unless they remake it again in 15-years and someone on the team feels the same way).
This is what I loved from DsS that got lost in translation with the other titles in time. Boss fights that were varied, not the same button smashing Dodge-Dodge-Dodge-Attack-Dodge-Dodge-Dodge like NK or Twin Princes. Flamelurker was an awesome rollercoaster of a difficult fight, but if EVERYTHING was like that , it would lose the exciting part, I feel like. Astraea fight shocked me to my core and I remember it 14 years later. With NK and TP I just wanted the fight to end already and after 3 tries the feeling gets worse every try I die. The only ones that are saved from that feeling in ds3 for me are Friede, Midir and the dancer, the rest are just either normal or annoyingly boring.

@@Teh0nlyMessiaH It's really sad, since BluePoint were so adament of keeping the soundtrack of Shadow of the Colossus Remake as authentic to the original as they could. Dunno why they decided to make Demon's Souls' soundtrack so bombastic compared to the original.
