A spectacular addition to the fleet! Congrats! As a lifelong DSMer, I’d always wanted an Evo 6.5. One day maybe. I can’t wait to see what you do with yours. You know what- I think I like your 5 better, especially in silver.
You and James would get along famously! Yah, maybe someday we will pick up another Evo as they age in Japan. Psyched to have this one to play with for now!
Just saw your subscriber count! Wanted to leave a congratulations message! I found you guys under 10k I think? You've already nearly tripled! I'm happy you guys are growing so fast! Great fun group, excellent builds. Bright future ahead! Keep the hits coming! ❤️
Absolutely! You guys have phenomenal tastes in cars, and you don't half-ass your builds. They always turn out clean and respectful of their era and heritage too.
Missing my evo 5. I bought one when I was studied in Japan in 2004. Unfortunately, I met with an accident at hill area in Akita, causing the car to total loss. It really a good car even in stock it already equipped with after market parts like brembo brakes, momo steering, recaro seats etc
We are so sorry to hear about your accident. Do you want to get another one? Maybe have one imported and enjoy it? This is our first experience with this older model, but we love it!
We had these cars arriving in Australia in early 2002 as an grey import but in 2001 after government red tape Mitsubishi Australia bought in the EVO 6.5 Tommi Makinen at wopping price of $80,000.00 AUD....but the import ones were selling as low as between $15,000.00 to $35,000.00 AUD for a pristine model with low 4 to 4.5 rating. Too many were imported and today they are fetching silly prices with high mileage.
nice score on the evo ! its almost perfect once you guys are done it will be prefect but i still luv the 33 you have haha always will because i own a 33...cannot wait to see the evo done
While Tommi Mäkinen and Initial D are both strong representations for the Evo V, even Gran Turismo, I have a much deeper connection with them elsewhere. There was an older racing series on Playstation 2 called Tokyo Xtreme Racer, and in TXR3, there was an Evo team called Commander. Commander was a play on Team Emporer from Initial D. Anyhow, I always had trouble with that one specific team each time I played through that game. I vividly remember the camo Evo V being so strong. It's iconic to me from those games. All the Evos are so iconic. It's a shame we never got any of them til the 8th generation. Can't wait to see progress on this!
Heck no lol 😆 I think if I owned one, I'd want it all black, black TE's or all black BBS RS maybe, not set on wheel choice yet. But definitely something menacing.
We are psyched to be enjoying your dream car! Thanks for lending it to us! Alex said he brought back the mustache because he got less speeding tickets when the police out here thought he was an officer also.
Hey Im thinking of getting one shipped over here from the UK since I am from there. There isnt many on the market over there. Whats the whole process like in getting this car on the road? I live in NJ
We are working on an import video as we speak. We hope your questions will be answered there. If not comment on the video and ask us any additional questions you may have.
I’m in college right now and want to buy this once I graduate! How hard is it to import, is there any way I could get in contact with you to ask you some questions. Thanks and congrats on the EVO!!!
Isn't it a bit scary to take a car you don't really know, that's been sitting for so much time and just driving it and launching it like it's nothing? I would need a change of pants after that...
i had to keep a sock on my Hurst t shifter because of how many times i literally burned the hurst logo onto my hand from 90°-100°+ summers here in Alabama.
@@JustDriven Look who you’re talking to. You know I gotta take the Toyota. But, it’s a much harder choice than, say, a Celica GT4 vs an Eclipse GSX. The EVO is probably the better car, but you’re the one who has access to both; what’s your personal choice?
back when Mitsubishi made great cars
Hey! That new Eclipse is sssiiiiicckk. But seriously, you right.

Love it! The Evo V is my favorite generation of the car. Glad to see them finally hit stateside.
We waited for a long while for this. Bought and housed in Japan till we were allowed to import. We love this gen Evo too.
The dream EVO!! Congrats on getting it here!!
Thanks! We are pretty excited to get wrenchin' on this thing.
How exciting! I’ve been personally thinking of saving up for an evo 5 or 6. Hopefully see y’all around in my evo x around Orange County
Heck yah! We will keep an eye out for your X.

Absolutely! You guys have phenomenal tastes in cars, and you don't half-ass your builds. They always turn out clean and respectful of their era and heritage too.
Thanks! There is a lot of love here for the projects so that coupled with all our passion creates these great builds.
Don’t forget. The V was only produced for 1 year. Everyone loves the VI but they made that for two years
We do love the rare ones!
Thought you were going to do a 2f 2f evo build but realised that was an Evo 7
Yah, not ALL of our builds will be Fast related. But all of our builds will be FAST related!

That's crazy. Anything Japanese is fetching stupid money here in the States. It's insane.
As mush as I love the 8th and 9th Gen Evo I do have a soft spot for the 5th Gen Evo
What's not to love?

Yah, we still have more love to give to the 33. The Evo will be a sweet street car when we finish with it.

You had us at TEs.
Start making TE the world merch, I'm on board lol
The coolest Evo ever. Well one of them. Evo 5 GSR.
A man of great taste you are.
@@JustDriven funny thing is the Evo 5 is same age as me as well. Playing gran Turismo 2 is notable as well.
Silver is the perfect colour for the evo V, looks like the pajero evolution
We wanted a red or white one. But when we saw how clean this one was we couldn't pass it up.
Congrats on the 5. If you need parts for resto we have a bit here in Australia. HMU if you need a hand finding stuff
Awesome! Thank you! We might just do that.
Nice. I love the Evo 5 and 6!
Same here. We have been getting a some love for the 6.5 also.
i like the design of the V, but the III is my dream.
Nice! We love the Evo III too.
Are your rear Wheel Arches rusting? That would be typical for these Models. They always start to rust away under the Rear bumper.
No rust on the arches, but the molding between the body and the arch cladding has been sun faded and cracked.
Great guys! You have bought one of my dream cars! Can't wait for the next vids on this one! Btw @ Alex, why the moustache back? 😭
We are psyched to be enjoying your dream car! Thanks for lending it to us! Alex said he brought back the mustache because he got less speeding tickets when the police out here thought he was an officer also.
Check out that Fiesta ST in the background!
It's for SALE! Someone should buy it soon, before the owner "reverses" his decision to sell it.
These is my dream car.. i wish i could owned one... i hope i could find left hand drive
That's a great dream car! It's so much fun! We hope your dreams come true.
Love the V but fav would be the 6.5
You'd be the second commenter to say the 6.5. Great minds think alike.
Damn that's awesome!
It really is so much fun!

Will you be making more evo 5 videos? I've got some 6's but I love the evo 5 front bar & rear wing & interior
Yes we will! We are gathering parts currently then we will start modifying it.
@@JustDriven Excellent. Subscribed!
Thank you for the sub! We appreciate the support!
let me know where to source parts for my EVO 4 mainly to do regular service on it@@JustDriven
i got some questions about the storage...how much was it to store for 2 years? did they charge you on a monthly basis?
It was a friend in Japan helping us out. And yes there was storage fees.
Dream car❤
Yah, us too. We've had our eyes peeled for cool cars to play with and when we saw this...we had to pull the trigger.
I’m in college right now and want to buy this once I graduate! How hard is it to import, is there any way I could get in contact with you to ask you some questions. Thanks and congrats on the EVO!!!
We are planning a video showing the ins and outs of importing a car from Japan. Keep your eyes peeled and you may have all your questions answered.
On the process of buying a 4 soon from a dealership in VA let me know your thoughts @@JustDriven
Nice little car, factory seats?
Yes, the Evo has long used the reclinable Recaros as their factory seat.
I want to get a IV, V, or VI as a daily
You can't go wrong with any one of those!
Did you guys get Cali plates and smog on it?
We did not.
I dont think it has that milage.. mine has done 2x that and my steeringwheel is not even close to beeing as destroyed..
That doesn't equate to more mileage.
Who did you import from?
We did the import process.
👍
🤙🏻
A real chilhood dream to have
It is more fun than the STI of the same generation.
Isn't it a bit scary to take a car you don't really know, that's been sitting for so much time and just driving it and launching it like it's nothing?

I see CP9A, I subscribe LOL

Yah, it gets pretty hot here in Orange County so it makes sense. Just kind of funny they found this tiny little sock to fit.
Pics?
@kaj750 pics of what?
@@JustDriven I wanted to see a tiny little sock so I could make an inappropriate joke :D
Leave it to James to find the little sock too. haha...
Hell yeah
This thing is so fun!

They’re so ridiculously light.
If you could pick a GR Corolla or this...which one would you pick?

Right now, the GRC because of the safe fun factor. Once the Evo has better tires and has had the engine looked over, it'll be a tough choice.
Sean Boswell Evo just the wrong color
And wrong Evo.
You’re Joiking Right?
Did You Not Watch The Fast And The Furious Tokyo Drift?
It's not Yellow :/
Or red. Or white. Still looks pretty sweet in silver.
Why y'all obsessed with what's outside yourself?
Why aren't you MORE obsessed with those things?
VI
Are you saying that just to be argumentative? haha... the VI is great too. It's just not old enough for us to import!
@@JustDriven yes. 🤣 It's my favorite and I'm just salty because it'll be more than I want to pay. LOL
The V is cool also, of course.
We've had some other commenters who argue with you. So you're not just "salty" but right.

Every. Single. One.
How do you get this in Cali 🥲🥲😭
It's not a CA car?
