I'm torn between this mouse and the Razer Basilisk Ultimate. Which of them is more viable in 2023? I usually play League and Valorant but I'm more of a heavy mouse guy so the weight doesn't bother me that much. I'm talking about the build quality and long term use

Excellent comparison video. Thank you for taking the time to make this video... After watching your video, I’ll be picking up the Darkcore SE. Everyone falls down a rabbit hole when it comes to purchasing a mouse and doing the research on the unit you have in mind.

Got myself a Dark Core PRO SE a week ago with MM1000 mouse pad. Quite comfortable mouse for small hands with palm grip,. With QI charging i do not even think about battery. Quite a good combo (mouse + pad) for tiny , precise movement.
I think though, that this is not a good choice for low senisvity players due to two reasons:
    - it's quite heavy
    - when dropped on the mousepad a little too hard it makes a right click (which may occuur in some fast-pace games)
Personally, I'm a mid senivity player, so i do not have any issues with those flaws.
Out of the two (Razer & Corsair) i think that decision is mostly about which company peripherals do You already own. However i have really bad memories with Razer (failures), and quality of their peripherals.

i recently got this mouse as well and i gotta say, i think i will have to return it, i used a razer mamba TE which i use at low sensitivity, i really wwanted to love the dark core because the rgb and features but the truth is that its heavy and while i can still use it with high sensitivity, i still feel like my aim and more precise and natural on my mamba, but th eother issue is that the right click button on my dark core tends to feel spongy sometimes and causes issues with click registration and it is a major downside for me, i will think i have pushed doen to click and it doesnt and it has cost me to lose alot of matches

I bought a razer x hyper speed and the Corsair dark core rgb pro. I ended returning and Corsair after the buttons starting making a creaking noise. Other people and my self have had this issue, so I do not believe it is a defective product. The Corsair also felt much cheaper to me, my unit would creak and rattle very often.

I would love to see a comparison between the Dark Core RGB mouse and the Steelseries Rival 650, both are around the same price and would be a fairer comparison tbh.
Also, not sure if you talk this slowly as you do in your videos in real life, if it's just to be as clear as possible vocally or if you want to drag the vid out to 10+ mins (can't say I blame you for the latter), but I have to say that 1.25x speed is a much better viewing experience for the video.

However, usb port is failing / failed, battery no longer holds a charge and iCue is a bloody pain.

Personally I think Basilisks is better overal. Nice weight, many buttons & features. Honestly kinda disappointed Corsair removed the sniper button on the side whereas Razer does have such button. Even the G502 Lightspeed is lighter and would personally be my choice because I love the quality and features on it but I just think the Basilisks is better for most people even though the high price.

    • @TheProvokedPrawn

True if the Basilisks was better priced, I think it would have been a great seller. I'm personally more used to heavy gaming mice but according to polls most people actually like a mouse near 100 grams and the wired is a bit lighter so for most people it would be a great mouse. Even the wireless one.

Something worth noting is that the Dark Core RGB Pro does not allow you to customize the brightness level of the RGB lighting. In other words, its either 100% brightness or its completely off. At 100%, it really eats away at the battery quicker, and there is no way to adjust that. It also eats battery life quicker if using the 2000hz polling rate. I've found the battery life on the Dark Core to be rather poor.

    • @BahhBahhBrownSheep
      @BahhBahhBrownSheep 7 місяців тому

You can in the device settings, and if you change the opacity on the color itself it’ll also effect brightness. No, this wasn’t an update after your comment. It’s worked this way for at least 6 years.

All Razer mice have production faults which may make your mouse double click randomly. I've owned three Razer mice and they have all had this issue. Sometimes I can go months without ever having an issue, and suddenly I can have issues every day for months. If you Google it you'll see that it's a very common problem because due to their design, static electricity may gather below the buttons, causing unwanted double-clicks. Also, while rare, they may suddenly die on you while playing games, forcing you to reconnect the cable. Razer mice are also the only ones I've ever had to factory reset (didn't even think mice could do that before). Their customer service is good, though, but I can't recommend any Razer products. Even the expensive keyboard I bought got sluggish, noisy keys after a year or two.
