Again, I've said this to one person, I'll say it again. (Not angry or anything, just want to get it straight) Not necessarily. What you just said is just a theory. While its possible, our planet has a higher chance to survive the red giant. Plus, planets don't evaporate, they get torn apart by many things as such as scolding heat that literally rips the planet or just due to powerful gravitational waves. (Yes, those are a thing.) Lighter substances such as H2O, He, Hi and so on will be the one's to "Evaporate" and leave the planets field.
The white dwarf scenario makes much more sense than the red supergiant idea because if the sun expanded even by 100x then there will not be pressure for fusion.
+Ahmad Belhoul It would have to be moved way out past Mars. The sun will become HUGE, I mean so massive the only way Earth wouldn't be fried is if was way out by the Kiper Belt.
+Cryptic Elements I know it won't reach Mars. I said the only way Earth wouldn't be fried to a crisp meaning, Earth would have to be out past Mars to even keep it's oceans.
Not necessarily. What you just said is just a theory. While its possible, our planet has a higher chance to survive the red giant. Plus, planets don't evaporate, they get torn apart by many things as such as scolding heat that literally rips the planet or just due to powerful gravitational waves. (Yes, those are a thing.) As an intelligent species, if we survive until this super nova, we might have achieved technology's to survive the cold and heat, so we do have a chance to survive
Well at that time of the Super Nova period I bet us humans have already found a new home, due to the fact that we right now are destroying this planet of the decades.
Of course, the red giant phase, will barbeque us long before the white dwarf phase has a chance to make us a snowball :(.Either that or the sun will swell beyond our orbit, and devour us! Will there be any water left in the atmosphere to freeze? Or will it boil away into space first?
The earth would not turn to a snowball just like it was a long time ago it would be gray and would get darker because when it froze had snowball Event the sun was able to heat the earth making the snowball vent end end of someone turn into a white dwarf and then our moon would collide with earth and the earth will crash into the sun along with Mars
He will be swallowed, but we will die much sooner like we concentrate on the sun, there will be a global warming,he'll be big enough to kill earth,Radiation, temperature and yea
this game made me rethink life late at night. we live in the middle of nowhere in a black covered universe with a bunch of unknown and floating planets that are moving right now in real time with a inhumanely possible explanation as to how they can just... collide RIGHT NOW.
+xAleX39 Well, the atmosphere scatters the blue light, which is the reason for the blue sky. What remains is, of course, the long-wavelength-light which is yellow to red
SomeGuy _ xXx What do you think happens when stars condense in on themselves after they have used all of their fuel? If they're not big enough to supernova they're a giant ball of carbon- did you not watch this video?
+Aaron Anon If A sun Is Too Small, It Keeps Expanding Its Outer Skin And It Becomes A Nebula... If A Sun Is A big One, It Collapses On Itself, Then A Supernova Happens...
this guy needs to do more research because if the sun were to go super nice it would be a red giant before it did and that means it would be as big as mars orbit consuming all 4 rock planets so it should be more like what would happen to Jupiter Neptune Uranus and Saturn and Pluto
The death of the sun is not called a 'nova'. A nova is the accreting of material from a regular star onto the surface of a white dwarf until it gets hot and pressurized enough to ignite it all in a relatively short time. This can thus create a "new star" from its brightness.
OneShotNation FTW i am pretty sure that in 4-5 billion of years we will try to save earth no matter on which planet we are :P thats the place where humans appeared
Maybe Westeros from A Song of Ice and Fire is orbiting a dwarf planet but on a more favourable orbit . That would explain the long winters and long summers
7:30. There are vents heating the ocean floor. So things like angler fish could survive for an extremely long time. Though I don't know if the heating phase would have killed them. Depends on the thermal properties of water.
So there will be a time in about 6bill years that there will be NO "yellow" Sun...but there will be life on this planet. They will start all over and learn about the world all over again. I wonder how many times that has happened? 🤔
Woah you just made me question reality....Have we all been in a repeating cycle that never ends and the world starts again and every world is a new "generation of the world...Holy sh*t
gabriel vargas For real!! Exactly! When ever the planet is habitable and then dies, when it becomes habitable again new life is created and they learn alllll over again. They re-learn what fire is, they make new religions, they learn everything over in a new way. That HAS to be what happens if what we know about the solar system is true. 😱😱
this is the first and ONLY time it has or will happen. the sun was made from collective incredibly hot gasses that are plasma and is middle age through its burning process *burning = fusion*
The bottoms of the oceans wouldn't freeze, ice is a really good insulator (think about igloos) and the core of the planet would remain extremely hot. So the bottoms of the oceans may still host life. I don't think anything would survive the period where all the water was gone, but it is a possibility.
MisturFlufflez, It doesn't have the mass to become a Neutron Star or a Black Hole, it does, however, have the mass to let out a Planetary Nebula and become a White Dwarf, so the video is correct, please do some research before you even attempt to comment something that tests science and astronomy
Our sun is not big enough to go super nova. Our start will become a Red Giant and then become a white dwarf. Stars that go super nova will either become a black hole or a neutron star not a white dwarf. Dislike for lack of research and basic science knowledge.
black holes are created by hypernova...i have no idea what the hell you were talking about. Small stars like our become red giants to white dwarf. Bigger stars end with supernova. even bigger ones end with hypernova and when they turn smaller, the mass becomes very dense(which obviously bigger mass, bigger gravity) that is how black holes are created.
Richard BENNETT Yes - Boiling is when a liquid turns into a Gas, and condensation is when a gas turns into a liquid! The evaporated water that was boiled off the earth would've likely stayed as part of the atmosphere :)
He didn't have to; considering the amount of hydrogen dioxide (or water) required to replenish an ocean, it's safe to assume that it didn't originate off-planet - if it did, it would be in the form of a very large amount of ice.
I love this game! It's so fun and creative, and destructive! I'm lucky enough to own it and I highly recommend it although I have to play it on my mac and the performance is not great but it gets the job done! Great video!
This program doesn't seem to take in account the continental drift. With the continents and oceans being completely differently orientated the distribution of warmth (and cold) will be very different from what this simulation shows. Also you make an error at 16:32 by saying Mercuries temperature is higher than before. That's not the case since the planet is now roughly 427 degrees Celsius.
I'm not suggesting there is a planet x, but if there were, this could explain a planet having an elongated ellipses. Prior generations of Nova. We have a lot of gold here (;
So I have a question then.. If the water completely evaporated which would have completely destroyed everything on the planet, would we still have an atmosphere? and if not, where would the water come from again?
the earth will be dead long before the sun expands because the rising sun temps will cause evaporated ocean water to make a earth a 2nd Venus happens in about 1 billion years
I dont understand. If the water evaporated into space where did the new water come from? I suppose either you left out mentioning comet bombardment or that the local solar system water truck was called in to refill the oceans.
The red giant phase would already strip the earth completely clean and swallow us completely, but it's interesting to see if the sun magically changed into a white dwarf
An interesting simulation, but I wish it showed the shift in the tectonic plates as well. I know this is not exactly realistic but I'm curious to know how the the Earth would have regained its atmosphere after being burned to a crisp, otherwise water would not have been able to form.
the sun because of its size and density can not go into a nova state thus making it impossible to become a dwarf, it can however become a red giant and then fold in on itself and from a back hole.
nope. our sun will expand into a red giant as it ages and spends its' hydrogen reserves, and as it spends all of its' hydrogen and helium and is only left with heavier elements, it will shed its' outer layers in a nova, and all that will be left will be a small white dwarf, a core of our sun filled with iron, carbon, oxygen, nitrogen a nd similar elements.
The only reason why I understand what’s going on in astronomy class. Thanks Anton
The Earth won't be around by the time the Sun is a white dwarf. It will be swallowed up by the Red Giant.
The solar wind may push earth out into a safe zone but we will all be dead by then

10:08 Mercury: HELLO TO THE HUMANS!
I saw an article saying the sun is white and we see it orange because of the atmosphere. Is that true ?
it's an orange type star so it's s orange. just more bright . atmosphere makes it more dim and changes some colors like making it red near horizon
+Anton Petrov (WhatDaMath) THANK YOU :3
No,as Our Suns A Yellow Dwarf Star, not Main Sequnce if I'm correct,I don't study that deep in stars tho lol ik it's a Yellow Dwarf Only

The sun is the only sun
And I will be dead at that point like I won’t see a red giant
wait, after the water is evaporated, how does it all come back.
rain maybe
evaporate water in a isolated area and after it cools it will be water again
Unfortunately water would evaporate straight to space with those temperatures..
there could be hydrogen and oxygen in the new built atmosphere

black holes are created by hypernova...i have no idea what the hell you were talking about. Small stars like our become red giants to white dwarf. "After 6E6 years there's liquid water again." Where's this water coming from and how does it get on the earth?
Richard BENNETT The water condenses from the atmosphere :)
Didn't the narrator say that all the water boiled off the earth?
Richard BENNETT Yes - Boiling is when a liquid turns into a Gas, and condensation is when a gas turns into a liquid! The evaporated water that was boiled off the earth would've likely stayed as part of the atmosphere :)
But, he didn't say that. You're guessing.
He didn't have to; considering the amount of hydrogen dioxide (or water) required to replenish an ocean, it's safe to assume that it didn't originate off-planet - if it did, it would be in the form of a very large amount of ice.

I'm not suggesting there is a planet x, but if there were, this could explain a planet having an elongated ellipses. Prior generations of Nova. We have a lot of gold here (;
First off, the round earth stays rounf
And flat
Now, Australia and the island of Papua in Indonesia are only about 200 km away and previously more than that.

So I have a question then.. If the water completely evaporated which would have completely destroyed everything on the planet, would we still have an atmosphere? and if not, where would the water come from again?
the earth will be dead long before the sun expands because the rising sun temps will cause evaporated ocean water to make a earth a 2nd Venus happens in about 1 billion years
This is unrealistic because Earth will have lost all it's atmosphere and water while the Sun was in a red giant phase.
Here’s a thought. In the super heat of the dwarf, the water evaporates. Does the water stay in the atmosphere or will the atmosphere be carried away.
I dont understand. If the water evaporated into space where did the new water come from? I suppose either you left out mentioning comet bombardment or that the local solar system water truck was called in to refill the oceans.
amazing! what software is that?
Let’s habit Neptune and Uranus when the sun is in its red giant phase.
REALLLLLYYYY!
did all the oceans evaporate into space? i can imagine that will make massive clouds that will cover the entire planet from sun rays

If the Earth is so uninhabitable, then what's that green part on the Earth near the North Pole when the Sun is still hot?
Mercury gives no fucks, even with Jupiter trying to cross it's orbit. That's true loyalty. Mercury, the planet who would never leave it's star.
Our earth 🌏 was like Venus and it is now cooled down so now there is life
It cooled down too much and we all froze to death and died.
I'd like to see this simulation with Earth's techtonic movement factored in
6:53 so kind of like Hoth from Star wars? then 7:18 now it is like Hoth from Star wars.
that point that it is extremely hot, mars' gonna be nice to live in i guess
So cold all oceans are frozen and you call that comfortable.
