I say this all the time on the channel. “The Machine will set the truth free”. 2x in the past few years I’ve been so roused up, I said something to them 🤣 Great fix as always! "Somebody has been a meddling." First hint something was up with the intake was the high tension wire holder not on top but on the bottom. Then when you took the intake off seeing that dimple on the top portion of the gasket kind of gave it away. Good find.
I remember not hooking up the impulse line when i rebuilt a stihl MS290. They came and picked it up and then i remembered 2 days later that i forgot to hook it up
Now I can't believe Jeremy got stumped, you telling a fib. Well maybe you were stumped for 10 seconds. Lol Good one my friend careful visual inspection saves the day.
I'm not ashamed to say I know what this sounds like. I rebuilt an MS250. Guess what I forgot to hook up on the saw? If you guessed the impulse line going from the shortblock to the rear handle assembly... You're right, that's indeed what I forgot. Ran on idle but it died on full throttle.
@@THEMOWERMEDIC1 Never forgot to hook it up after though. Slapped a new engine shortblock in it, a new carb and it runs as it should. Rescued it from the eBay junkyard.
When I worked at a small engine shop years ago, and a customer walked in and said they'd tried to fix it the owner would always tell them "go buy a new one, his shop was no abortion clinic" 😆 lol
Repairs that a customer monkeyed around with are really hard to fix unless you work on that same piece of equipment everyday. So how much are you going to bill for that one, I'm sure you have at least an hour into figuring that out.
Great tip buddy. I found a similar problem once on a honda carb the gasket was put on incorrectly. Easy to do if you don't pay close attention. Who do you think is making the best trimmers know a days.
I have a question about oil that I hope someone can help me with. I was at tractor supply looking at their in-house oil. Their SAE 30 oil that was in the small engine section was $24 per gallon and I believe it said it was for small engines. Their SAE 30 oil that was in the general oil section and said it was for automobiles was $10 per gallon. From what I understand about the SAE ratings I didn't think there would be a difference in the oil but apparently there is. Does anyone know the difference and should I definitely not use the one labeled for autos in my Briggs and Stratton engine? Thanks.
Auto oil has had the protective zinc compounds, I think zinc phosphate, removed by EPA direction for emissions compliance in cars. In small engine oil, the zinc compounds are still there and provide better lubrication protection in hard working, high operating RPM’s of small engines. That’s what I’ve been told, have not researched the details for myself.
@@1anthonybrowning Tractor Supply is claiming that their 30W automotive oil has zinc in it as well as other compounds. Per their info; "The zinc content ranges between 975-1150 ppm."

My local Tractor Supply has API SB 30w Non-Detergent oil for small engines, as well as API SN 30w detergent oil which is meant for automotive use.
