    I love waking up early in the morning between 5-6am. My partner is also enjoying it as we get breakfast, coffee and walking the dog done by like 9am and then it feels like we've been so productive that theres still so much more to do with the rest of the day. I also get little jobs done like cleaning, washing, putting away dishes so when we come back theres not a mess to deal with.
    Totally changed my mindset this year. ❤

    For work I wake up at 6:30am. However if left to it, my body will naturally wake up 9-10 hours after I go to sleep. Unfortunately I'm someone who needs a lot of sleep to function normally. For me 8 hours is depriving myself 😞 It kind of sucks, because I'm a night owl and that's when I'm most productive, but my 6:30am alarm for work means I need to go to bed much earlier than I would like.
    Also, you're point about having a reason to wake up is very true. If I don't have something to do on the weekends, I find myself lounging around in bed. During the work week, I put my phone (which is my alarm) on the other side of my room so I have to get up to turn it off. Also, soothing alarms all the way! Such a better way to wake up.

    I wake up at 5:45 but my day only really starts at 9. Thank you for the video. I just zombie around from 7 to 9 and it ain’t good.

    I just found your channel and it’s literally amazing. I went all the way back to your first uploads and watched a few videos and your content is golden.     I wake up every day at 4:50 so i have enough time to do my makeup and Breakfast stress free and be at work at 6:45 🙂

      I wake up @ 4am
      I cooked rice. Still can't eat my breakfast at home. Or maybe because I still read my book before actually getting things done first. I leave the house 6:30 am.

    Btw, what if you have a lot of time but have nothing to do? I have no hobbies. I've spent the last 3 months catching up on Zzz's and complaining about poor time management and not being productive. It's quite sad actually. Hmm, I suppose staying off the Internet will help?

      You should probably stay off the Internet if it affects you negatively. Maybe try a new hobby or find out what your interested in. Reading, listen to a podcast, etc.

      I think you should make goals and try to fit activities that help you realize this goals.. so, maybe you want to get healthier, you can exercise everyday and prepare fresh meals. Or maybe you want to learn something, find a online course or set the goal of reading about the subject for an hour a day... I think it's important to set this goals so you can even discover more about yourself :)

      Find online courses, look up different tutorials on UA-cam to learn a new skill or hobby, seriously limit screen time. You could even play video games, I find those help my reaction time and problem solving skills.
      You will get there. I'm still working on it myself. But you got this!

    I do a daily sheet of to-do's and timeline and to-get's and the next week's appointments but I wake up in the morning so shell shocked with one foot still stuck in the astral - mornings and me havent always gotten along very well and my sleep is dubstepped but I have a severe pain condition (amongst other things) which can be an imposition to sleep as well -
    Ill definitely try and take up your tips with this vid! Cheers!

    Thank you for making this. I am currently waking up at 7.15 and it is so hard, but just a week ago I was waking up at like 9. I can see that I am so much more productive when I wake up earlier. Thank you for the video :)

    Great video! I got into a healthier lifestyle recently and now I'm always sooo keen on watching your videos. I can't wait for the next one.     My 1 y/o daughter wakes me up between 8 or 9 am now... When I had a job I woke up at 5 or 6, and I was always late!!! Has been like a month that I'm a "stay at home mom" and this year I'm thinking or reorganize my life to be more productive and start taking care of my health, like working out again, healthy eating and loose all that pregnancy weight, and mental health. I need to empower myself again to be a good example for my girl.

    Usually 5:45 for work days, but 5:24 for TRX morning workout work days, and then I sleep in till about 07:00 in the weekends - 09:00 at the very latest :)
    My struggle is getting to bed to get up early without sacrificing my sleep. Some days I can't be home before 22.00 and while I try to be in bed at 22.30, often I don't reach the mark - I feel like I have to prepare for the morning as well 😅
    And then my other struggle is actually getting started, particularly on days where I don't need to go to work. So the intention setting practice might be the key to setting myself up to succes and follow through the plan. Will defenately try that!

    Do you have a job and work at all? This all seems well and good, but for the majority of people the reality of real life is that people need to work a normal job that takes up quite a bit of time, you seem to live a very lucky lifestyle that isn't realistic or a reality for many.
    I was also wondering about socialising if you go to bed that early? Do you ever go out at night? When do you catch up with friends, and especially the ones that work day jobs?

      You're reaction seems based on jealousy.
      I have to be at work at 8, and get up at 5 every morning to fit in extra time. It's all about discipline and motivation. Not everyone needs 8 hours of sleep. People think they do, but if you go to bed earlier and go to bed thinking, i'll be super energetic and not sleepy at all, you generally wake up easy and quick. Also having a wake-up light and a strict morning routine really helps.

    I recently started waking up early at about 5. Actually by recently, I mean today lol. But like I really wanna continue this for long because I think waking up early makes your day a lot bigger and helps you doing more things plus better sleep.

    I'm up at 11. Got 4 kids, co sleeping, don't fall asleep until 3 am and have a baby kicking me all night. I'm exhausted. Definitely won't be getting up any earlier, I'd be dead 😂

      My mom is the same, cosleeping with my brother since he sleeps at 2-3 AM 😭 I’ve even become adjusted to their schedule cus sometimes I watch him and he doesn’t get up til later so I end up getting up later

      Life certainly is different with kids than women who don't have kids. While I love Rachel Aust's videos and advice, it doesn't pertain to everybody out there. Especially being a mom to little ones, we really don't have time to focus on ourselves.

      Berty Tova when I started waking up early if I decided to snooze my alarm or just stare at the walls 4:55 gives me the extra 5 min so I don’t feel bad however now I don’t have snooze and I just use the time to be silent and meditate before starting my morning ritual 💖

    I have changed my waking up time to 06:30 from the struggling 08:00 i used to , since last April. It's been a great change to also the way my body felt, i hardly feel pain and i must say that I no longer excersize.

    I wake up around 6-6:30am and I go straight to the gym because that’s when it is quiet and I get my motivation for the day!
    On my rest days I usually get up around 7:30-8am.
    I now use Screen Time on my iPhone to not allow me to mindlessly scroll social 🤤

    Thanks for the useful info. One thing that has helped me is getting rid coffee and other large amounts of caffeine. This tends to help me sleep better.

    I wake up at 5am because it’s the only time I have to myself during the day. It’s my most productive time but I tend to watch UA-cam instead of being productive! I wake my kids at 6am and we are out the door by 7am.

    I wake up at 6:30 on work days and 7 on days off so my schedule doesn’t too messed up by sleeping late. However if I have no alarm or anything I will fall asleep around 3am and sleep til noon.

    I wake up at 6:30 or 7 every morning. I don’t have a set work schedule because I’m a grad student, but I enjoy getting to the office before everyone else to get my quiet time in.

    This couldn't have come at a better time !😊. For the first time in my life my sleeping pattern is seriously messed up for the last 2 weeks been oversleeping though my alarms waking up at 12pm going to bed at 3am . Tired everything 8am wake up is normal for me. Feel down about this😵

    I trained my dog to wake up at 530 for breakfast. If I dont get up she jumps on me and barks and scratches at the door. That gets me out of bed. My body is used to it now. Going to be at 9 helps.

    I wake up late all the time due to my waitress job. I usually work all day and never get done at closing due to my bosses constantly allowing people to come in and order without hase past closing time. I’ll find myself immersing myself in distractions (my phone) to take my mind off the long stressful day i had.

    I wake up now between 4:00 and 4:30 am. My alarm is set for 4:30. I usually beat it. I would love to be more productive but I am not sure I can get up too much earlier. I leave the house at 5:30am. I get home between 6:30-7:00pm most nights.

    I usually wake around 7 am, which is when my partner is getting ready for work. But i've been meaning to wake up earlier to get my day started sooner, and now I've got three 7 am shifts in a row this week.

    So true. I got up early this week. But didnt do anything productive. I just shifted my schedule from staying up late and doing nothing. To waking up early and doing nothing. I didnt have any set tasks or plans.

    I usually wake up at 6.30/7.00 am during the week and at 7.30 during weekends. I am one of those people who simply are extremely productive when it's night time, for some reason. That's why I have a fairly strange sleeping habit: I cosleep with my son from 21 to 23 then from 23. 15 to 3 am I study. I know, sounds crazy but works for me.

    I've heard the 'get away from screens and read books' advice pretty often and agree yet I wonder: is it okay then to use an e-reader? I don't buy physical books anymore and I wonder if it's actually better to use an e-reader than to watch netflix before bed.

      7nochannel most e readers these days are not backlit so the blue lit isn’t going to your eyes - which is what disrupts sleep

      Ana Clara Barreiros much better,thank you for asking 💕 Same of the stuff that got my depression peaking got solved others I had to put on the back but even then it became I sleep at 2am and wake up at 9-10 am
      found a 3 weeks old kitten 6 months ago and having to care of him made me feel alive again and naturally got my sleep right 11 pm and I wake up at 6-7 am

      Rienzi Bartolomeu since a kid I was someone who woke up very early ( 6-7 am ) they called me rooster
      I’m pretty healthy physically ( i studied nutrition since I had I.D as a teen and wanted to treat myself and help others too )
      Only drink coffee in the mornings
      Only workout in the morning ( find the evening gets me to hyper )
      Avoid speaking on the phone ( I end up repeating all the discussion on my head )
      ....
      But all of that does nothing when my depression and anxiety hits ( and even then I avoided taking meds to sleep but when it became months I had to )
      But I got better lately ☺️

    For so long I have been fighting with wanting to wake up early and failing to do it. I found starting the habit in winter wasn't working for me. Since spring/summer, I have achieved my goal!

    I really struggle as an emergency services worker every few days I change shift and go from starting at 6am to not finishing until 6am etc

    Just wondering, do you have any experience with anxiety? Or any materials you've put out with anxiety? You're really motivational and your tips are really helpful but I have bad anxiety that makes it so that if I'm doing something I'm half-assing it because my brain is so worried and caught up in itself. It's also affecting my sleep schedule since my brain constantly wants to be occupied by other forms of entertainment so it doesn't have to be alone and anxious, which means I often sleep from 2am to 11am. Like I know I've learned the tips and tricks but the anxiety is preventing me from actually implementing them. Any tips or pointers to resources would be super helpful!

    I'm usually pretty good waking up, but I've been working later recently and with winter here it's been just so dark I don't get up till 9 sometimes 10!! I'm finding it so hard. I need to start putting my phone away

    I wake up as late as possible! (I hate mornings....I am always so exhausted). My alarm goes off at 7 AM and I have to be out the door by 8 AM. Some mornings I hit snooze until 7:40😲

    I recently (3 months) move to the other side of the world and I usually wake up at 9am (on vacation) during uni. At 5am. But now I don't have anything to do and I've been waking up at 11am and it so tiresome, because I got to bed at 12 or 2am and sleep but wake up every 3 or 4 hours. It makes me feel like I'm not sleeping. HALP.

    Currently almost 1am and I should be in bed but I’m not tired at all. I don’t normally wake up until like 9-10 even though I want to wake up early I never do, I wake up and I’m upset bc I feel so unproductive and it sets a tone for the day.

    I’m watching this 5:40 AM. I always wake up at 5 AM but I never do work. I don’t know how to like do homework at this time.

    I used to wake up at 2pm, but if I’m at work I’m up at 5:30am. If I’m not at work it’s usually around 7am ☺️

    I am surprised to see u have banana and oatmeal. I thought you were all about ketogenic diet. I am ending my 3 day dry fast tonight n looking forward to having coconut water and watermelon. The craziness of keto got me so anxiety ridden and I panic to eat a piece of fruit. It has been several months and I am so looking forward to it tonight. I eat meat too but not sure about keto exclusively anymore.
