Wait till you hear it with mediums. It booms like a damn cannon! I jam with a friend girl of mine and she plays very softly. I’ll actually kind of mimic a bass in certain songs and it’s a good match with her style
I have a d-18 that i love to play. At $2,500 it should play and sound great but I noticed that, to me, the $600+ Alvarez actually sounded better than the D-28 when flatpicked and held its own when fingerpicked. An incredible value! Your playing was great.
Both sound great... Alvarez takes the edge, though... in my opinion. A wee tad more mellow, yet has the tone in the high end that I prefer. Your playing, though, makes both of them shine!!!
Man... you have skills!!!! I've been an Alvarez fan for a couple decades . They have always been a fantastic value! This bluegrass model is incredible . I saw another UA-cam channel do a similar comparison a few months ago. I just had to get my hands on one. I was super lucky to find one listed by a Chicagoland pawnshop on ebay for $375. Next morning I was there when the shop opened. The guitar is like new. I offered $350 and they took it.!!! What a steal!!! ....Your video confirms that you don't have to spend a couple thousand dollars to own a quality instrument. I'm now a subscriber to your channel.
Thanks for your video! I currently own a Martin custom D-18, a Taylor 562ce 12 string and a New World Player classical. I've owned a Martin D-28, D-35, D-15, many high end Taylors, Collings, Bourgeois, Huss and Dalton and even a couple of Eastmans. After trying a friend's Alvarez MD60BG the other night, I would say that it is the best dreadnought that I've played in it's price range and it would be a worthy primary guitar, but certainly a super 2nd guitar for those who want a guitar to take to places that you'd never bring a more expensive guitar but is still a guitar you really enjoy playing.
Very concise and to the point comparison. The recording of both instruments were well balanced and clear, and demonstrated the characterisics of both instruments very well. Not all content creators get this right, so thank you for the extra effort. I have both the MD60BG and the MD70EBG (rosewood B/S). Someone else mentioned that a lot of the differences being heard between the Martin and the Alvarez here reflected the woods used on the back and sides, and I would have to concur. Despite the similarities in overall construction between the MD60 and MD70, I can hear the Low/High emphasis on the MD70 associated with most rosewood -back guitars, and the midrange focus associated with mahogany B/S guitars on the MD60 when I compare them side-by-side. It would be nice to see a similar shootout between the Martin HD28 and the MD70, which would make a better basis for a one-on-comparison.... focusing solely on the effects of construction and QC on tone as opposed to construction, QC, AND tonewood (with the B/S tonewood differences being a confounding variable in this video). Excellent playing on the demos! I think you did a great job pulling out the best performance in both instruments.
I agree, and I also think the 60 should be compared to a d18... Similar in woods... Maybe someone on the interwebs has both... I would really like to see that comparison..
Great comparison between two very nice guitars. Your very nice playing demonstrated their different sounds perfectly. I am certain either would be a great addition for playing at home. Either one without the other to compare too would be the best. Actually I think they would play off each other in a mix very well. Thanks for the great video. Have a Blessed Easter.
My Alvarez MD60BG is out of the box green,I think roughly a year old,and I can tell its gonna open up and be a great instrument. Iv always loved and drooled over Martin D18's untill I paid way to much and found out how temperamental they are.i cant say one's better or one has a better sound, but I purchased my Alvarez for 800$ and I bought the D18 used for 21 hundred, I since sold the Martin and lost money and I can say I miss it,but I'll pass this Alvarez,God welling to my kids and hopefully they will pass it on to theirs...God bless you brother, thank you for sharing this..
Thank you very much for your comparison video! At my local music store I played this Alvarez Dreadnaught today and I was very surprised of the wonderful sound. It’s a great looking guitar and also the play ability is fine, I’m thinking about buying this guitar. Although the Martin Guitar sounds absolutely sweet, it’s not in my affordable price range…. Greetings from Vienna, Austria.
I bought a Alvarez after your demo. I could not be happier with its sound, build quality , and overall playability. Thanks for the demo. I am a Martin guy as well. This was a shocker to me. They sound great.
That’s great to hear, hopefully my video helped to inform you about the Alvarez, they are incredible guitars for the money. I appreciate you watching and hopefully I’ll be doing more videos soon 👍
You basically answered my question to him! Wondering about the playabilty and feel compared to Martins. I have a 73' D-28 but it has some bellying issues at the moment and I am looking for a suitable replacement for the moment.
I very much enjoyed your playing and comparison. Just by listening to the two they both sounded wonderful so it would be a tough choice. I read a lot of the comments and one person mentioned that the Martin sounded more refined and I really agree with that. However, they both sounded great! Keep up your videos!
Fantastic playing my friend, really enjoyed your video. I'm currently looking at an Eastman E1D, a Cort Gold D6 and the Alvarez MD60BG which are within my budget. You make that Alvarez sing! Take care and best wishes from New Zealand!
Really enjoyed the comparison, in the process of purchasing a 78 Alvarez Yairi Y, really looking forward to playing it and really enjoyed your playing, very pure
Great video . I am a Alvarez fan I own a ARD70 ( dreadnaught ) and a AP70 ( parlor ) . I have played several Martins , which I think are excellent , but to my ears they have more treble response than I like . LOve your playing style !
Great job on the comparison, and what a player you are! I have to say that is one great sounding Martin and it does really suit you. I do get why people would say it's worth the money. However it is so important and especially for beginners, because for me when I began brands were much more important than they are now, to know that you aren't a slave to paying whatever Martin charges. Especialy since an HD-28 will run you 3400 dollars now and strictly speaking is still a factory guitar. Good to know there are other fantastic options, because the Alvarez doesn't sound any worse, it's just a different voice to my ears.
I inherited a 1999 D28 a few years ago. I feel very blessed. I did buy a 00016 Street Master and I love them both. I really feel like you have to play them along with hearing them. My Martins play easy. I like that. I have seen a lot of Takamine lately that sound amazing! But whatever anyone decides on, all that matters is that YOU love it! Thank you for your videos!
I think the Alvarez had the best sound. The low end character is really nice. I would have to play them both to choose but I've played Alvarez's before and liked them. More money doesn't equal better tone and feel reality does.
I played an Alvarez MD60 a couple of years ago at my local music shop, it was awesome and I didn't want to put it down, you know how you're always looking for guitars that "speak" to you......this one did but someone had left a deposit on it and I couldn't take it away, the shop owner hadn't gotten it down off the wall to keep out back yet...😔
Delvin, THANK YOU for posting your videos and for keeping the greats alive! Excellent comparison on these two units. I bought an Alvarez LJ2 (mini-jumbo) for my 8yr old boys Christmas .. and he and I very much enjoy watching your posts. Having been a Guild guy most of my life, I recently invested in an Orangewood Berkeley that very closely emulates the D-28. Watching your videos has inspired me to revive the music in my home. THANKS AGAIN and GOD BLESS!
Thank you for an excellent comparison video with wonderful playing and selecting variety of pieces to play. While the Martin stands out with the unique sound; my take away from this video is that the Alvarez is an excellent guitar for the price; even more versatile, it will give one a good run for the money and a fancier/pricier instrument is no substitute for developing skill.
Both guitars sound great but the Martin sounds like a cannon when you hit a bass string. Windy and Warm is a tune I can't get out of my head when I hear it. The Alvarez has a beautiful treble tone. Nice playing and nice video. Here Comes the Sun? (I have a 1963 D-28 that my dad bought new.... beautiful guitar...and a lot of other guitars too.) Are you familar with the Greek Flatpicker, Yiannis Gougourelas? He has some great videos comparing vintage and custom-built guitars. He's he Greece, but plays Bluegrass.) Ian Meadows is another one who demos a lot of different guitars. Ian gets some really nice, bluesy runs. Thanks for posting. Hearing your playing is a great way to start the day. It's nice to play different guitars.
You play very well, Sir! Great comparison, both guitars sound good; hard to beat that Martin sound, but I think the Alvarez really holds it's own considering the price difference.
Great video. Amazing picking. I appreciate the sound of each and I know which I would play where. If I was home whichever was handy or had newer strings. I have both brands and and both are great (actually I have 2 Alvarez guitars, one old and one new). The old Alvarez has a 3 piece back with the center panel mahogany plus rosewood, beautifully strange. The Martin is a D18GE from around '03. New subscriber!
Really great playing! Here comes the sun, of course. They both sound great, I have both brands but not those models. Couldn't afford that level of quality. I kind of prefer the Alvarez and I am really hopeful that the new Lariate line is all that it's claiming to be. Like your style!
Love the Alvarez, think i'm gonna get one. But there's nothing like a martin dreadnought to clear your ears and remind what a guitar sounds like . Loved your playing.
Wonderful picking delvin, I've been a strummer all my life and just recently started trying to pick!! Not to good so far. I notice your Alvarez sounds better than the others I hear on UA-cam must be the touch of the master's hand!! Keep em coming sir!!!
I own the Alvarez guitar you played. It seems a little brighter than the Martin. The Martin has it's own mellow tones. Great sound for both highs and lows. All considered I chose the Alvarez. Thanks, Cody. (It just sounds great for the money 💰
Devlin you always amaze me when you play, I love it. That Martin's brightness is almost unmistakable but the warmth and fullness of the Alverez is more appealing to me. Excellent guitar playing only problem is you aren't making enough videos, sorry. Keep on smiling.
Thanks for the comment I appreciate you watching and I’ll try and make a video soon I just don’t consider myself a very good player so that’s why I don’t post much and it’s hard to get inspired being a very limited player like myself
@@lucascruzguitar Thanks for responding however you need to re-read the comments on this and i think you'll find most agree with me you are a fantastic musician. Keep on smiling.
@@lucascruzguitar I just think you are to humble there Delvin. Which is not a bad thing. I have never liked big headed musicians. I don't have that model Alvarez, but I still own one and have had a couple. They are great guitars for the money. I cant lie, I'm a Martin player and like the Martin. Big money difference though. And that last song kinda sounds like here comes the sun to me. It probably something else though, lol. EE
Well first off, Great playing. Now as for the comparison. Both the guitars sound excellent in their own way.The Martin has a very deep bass end and focused top end. The Alvarez was, to my ears very balanced across its spectrum. What it does it does well and the same for the Martin. Two similar guitars in regards to designated genre ( Bluegrass) but they shine individually and I’ll be honest I liked them both for what they offer. Two very different voiced guitars but very capable at what they are built to do. Personally I own a 75’ Alvarez 5024 as well as a 77’ Alvarez 5023 I also own Blueridge, Guild and Gibson. I have owned Martins in the past as well. All my guitars offer up tones that maybe only my ear hears but all the same each one is a tool when I’m playing a particular song or writing a song. I hear a tone in my head and go to my guitar library as I call it and select which one comes closest to what I hear in my head. I will say a lot of the time the Alvarez is the one I select. I love guitars and I have done so since I was nine years old I’m now 57 and music has made my life so much richer. In closing I will say that I really enjoy what you are doing here on UA-cam and so much so that I have given you a like and have subscribed as well. Delvin I appreciate your passion for guitar, it lets me know I’m not alone in my acoustic guitar addiction and passion for music as well. Thanks again!🎶
Good video. With the Martin having rosewood back & sides it's going to have a bigger bass sound. The Alvarez (I own one and love it!) Has mahogany back & sides so it has a more balanced tone. It would be interesting to hear a comparison between a Martin D-18 and the Alvarez.
Thank you. I basically came here to post what you posted. I'd add that if a comparison is going to be made, at least match up wood tones. It's easy enough. As you suggested, D-18 and the Alvarez in this video. OR...Use the Alvarez Rosewood MD70BG and the D-28. Either of those comparisons would make more sense than this one, IMO.
I sure enjoyed your playing and your presentation. Thanks for taking the time! I preferred the Martin. I thought it sounded more mature. The Alvarez sounds like the new guy to me. I owned an Alvarez dread with a cedar top and solid hog b & s. It was lovely. Wonderful sound. Not a bluegrass guitar, I suppose. I wouldn't know. But it sounded great.
Here comes the rain.. That was an awesome video and comparison. I could definitely hear the difference but only because of the different tone woods used in each guitar. The Alvarez, with it's solid mahogany, has a mellow sweet tone. And of course the Martin HD28, with its rosewood construction, has higher more focused tones. But that's the difference between mahogany and rosewood and not the quality of the guitars. You did an awesome comparison and hopefully people out there that can't afford to get a Martin will look into guitars like Alvarez and Recording King. I have the Recording King RD 328 and love it. I'm looking at a used Alvarez MD60BG, at my local music store and think I'm going to definitely get it. Thank you again for putting this video out.
@@lucascruzguitar no man, thank you and keep up the great videos. I wish I could play guitar like I used to ( 2 strokes later) but I still enjoy it and teach to my grandson. I did get the Alvarez and will be reviewing it on my channel soon. Can't wait for your next video.
I have this Alvarez and I am looking to sell it if you are interested I'm only asking $550 for it and that's a hell of a deal I think for such a good guitar the reason why I want to sell it is because I am buying a new Eastman parlor and I don't play the dreadnaught that much anymore! But hit me back if you're interested in it we can talk about shipping and payment! And excellent playing by the way! That sounded fantastic on both guitars and really did them both a great deal of Justice thank you very much
I liked the Alvarez best except for the last tune. I thought the Martin sounded best with the capo down the neck. I'm really impressed how easily you play. Thanks for a great video.
Two verrry nice sounding guitars. I already have an HD28. but, I am sure I could have spent a week of playing both of those guitars and still have problems chosing one over the other. Beautiful instruments with slightly different "shades" of sound. Which, is why we, who are fortunate and can afford/own several guitars... do so. Nice playing and great review. I´m definitely going to look into Alvarez next time I enter the next guitar store :-) Playing guitar is like doing sports and always awaiting that perfect run/wave :-)))
Hello,, just discovered you . Love your pickin . I was shocked at how well the Alvarez sounded. I've learned something already,, haha. I didn't know that Alvarez had a bluegrass model. Attractive instrument too. Your Martin sounds a little more powerful to my ear. Enjoyed your demo and your talent does both guitars justice. I believe the last song might be,, here comes the sun,, or ,, there goes the sun?? Lol.
Hey thanks for watching , I don’t consider myself much of a player but I appreciate the nice compliments, I’ll be doing some more comparison stuff soon 👍
Beautiful tone on both guitars, but that Martin takes the cake! I used to have an Alvarez folk and loved it, but I'd give my left arm to get my hands on my own Martin. I've watched two of your videos , sir, and I am now a new subscriber. Offer an old man some lessons? HAHA
Excelent video. Superb playing. Great comparison. That Alvarez sounds incredible, but, in my opinion, in the Travis-picking section is when the Martin reveals clearly that it is the better guitar. Anyway, as I can't buy a Martin (I sold a D-28 years ago and now I'm poor), what do you think is a better option, one of those Alvarez Bluegrass guitars or a Yamaha LL16? I was thinking of buying the Yamaha (I had one years ago and it was very nice), but now your video makes me wonder...
Thanks for watching, the Alvarez md60bg is a very good guitar they are built good and sound really good, I have a Yamaha LL6 that blows the Alvarez out of the water! But that’s my opinion
Nice playing. Enjoyed it very much. Thanks. I'm considering buying the MD60BG. I hear the sweetness of the HD28. It's awesome. However, the Alvarez has a nice sound as well. It's a little different. Maybe not quite as sweet a sound, but still good from what I hear. I can't afford the HD28. Wish I could. It would be my favorite. But for the price, it seems hard to beat the Alvarez. Happy Thanksgiving my friend
Such great playing man! What one do you like to play, comfort wise? I have a HD-28 Martin - love it. Also have an Alvarez full mahogany parlour too, but I'm always drawn to the Martin. Love your playing and chat 👍 glad I came across your channel.
Would be cool to hear you talk about what are the difference in therm of sound and feel.. i own the MD60BG and i love it but would like to ear your honest toughts.
Very nice guitar work. You can very definitely hear the difference and I don't know which one is best. The Martin seems to have a brighter sound and I like that. But at the same time I like the bass frequency in the Alvarez. Tough choice except for the price difference of course. Probably for me because of the price would be the Alvarez. Although I would choose the MD70 because of the rosewood.
Great comparison. Nice playing. I have owned both guitars, and found that Martins are canons but they can get a little muddy and not as clean or clear as other dreads. It’s a preference thing and nothing against martin, but for the money…I tend to go lighter or cleaner! Best.
Love your approach to this. No BS. Just "talking guitar" is the way. Not giving your opinion is great. I have never had a Martin D-18, but I love the sound each puts out.
First of all, I want to let you know, I really enjoyed listening to your awesome guitar picking. I just received my Alvarez md60bg yesterday, put a new set of strings on it, and it sounds great. Just wish I could make it sound as good as yours. $649.00, CANT BEAT IT. MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Hey I appreciate you watching and I’m glad for your new purchase they are great guitars, I would play one on the Grand Ole Opry if I were good enough. Thanks for commenting and have a very Merry Christmas as well 👍
I heard Windy and Warm, then Here comes the sun. The Martin guitar sounded slightly better through my Bose headphones. But at 5 times the price, it should sound a lot better. The actual difference is very subtle. I don’t own an HD28, but I do own a D16, which is a great guitar, and I do own the Alvarez MD60BG. I’ve gotten some nice compliments on both of them, and I love them both. By the way, you are a very fine player.
Thanks for this video it helped me as I'm considering getting an alvarez. I think yours looks cool without the pick guard, I wonder if I can take it off if I get one. Loved the picking by the way. I know that was here's comes the sun last but was the middle one windy and warm? All the best mate, from London, England!
Hey thanks for the compliment I appreciate you watching and commenting, if you want the pick guard off just heat it with a hair dryer and peel it off just take your time, and yes it was windy and warm. Thanks again and take care from Kentucky USA 👍
Thanks man! I really like the Alvarez, but I have to say when you play here comes the son with the capo up on the neck, I personally like the clarity of the Martin.
Beautiful playing bye the way both Guitars have awesome tones the Alvarez has more of a cleaner fuller sound I enjoyed both keep up the great work my friend.
I really enjoyed the comparison. The Martin seemed to have more volume and depth than the Alvarez otherwise both sounded great. I've owned an Alvarez professional model like $700 and enjoyed playing it. I currently own a Martin HD28 Ambertone color and it's my baby got it on sale for $2800 in 2015. I also play a Blueridge 180A Adirondack model without all the gauldy headstock inlay lol and enjoy it.
Both were great sounding guitars. The Martin had a richer bottom end but the Alvarez was very balanced. I'm impressed with what Alvarez is doing currently. I own one of their 8 string guitars and love it.
Hey Delvin , I enjoy your picking Thanks . i am a Martin man ... but your Alvarez is a Hoss ! I play flat picking style on a 1973 & a 1974 D35 . Well even listening over the cheap lap top speakers that Alvarez is a ground stomper ! And your playing is wonderful , i have been getting a few good runs from you and i am gonna keep an eye open for a MD60BG THANKS !! You gonna do any Christmas music for us ? Hope so and Thanks again .
Thanks for the comment, the Alvarez is a good guitar mine was accidentally built with an Adirondack top so it’s one of a kind, I hadn’t thought about any Christmas tunes but I will for sure consider it!!
They both have a very articulate sound, the Martin is warmer imo, but less transparent. The Alvarez a bit less sustain? Being a finger style player, I’m really impressed by you flatpicking skills! Excellent playing!
I just bought an MD60BG, so I tried to be biased. But that Martin shows why it's the gold standard. It's just superb. Can't wait to own one. Still love my Alvarez, but that Martin is just special.
That is a very nice comparison! I have an Alvie same model and every time I play it I feel that I stole it slightly used of a GC for a little over $400. Wonderful guitar, plays really well and in all likelihood all the guitar that I will ever need .... Money wise it is a no brainer. Get the Alvie and keep the rest of your money! But that Martin ... so warm, so full, so luscious ....
Nice comparison! Of course, the mahogany vs rosewood makes a difference but it's hard to justify the cost difference between the two. A quick question, what strings do you have on the Alvarez?
Great video! I was thinking of buying the Álvarez BG 70 with the Rosewood back an sides or Recording king 328 Which has aged Adirondack top an rosewood back . Do you have any experience with the recording king I was just wondering what your opinion was ? Thank you for your time and videos
I have played several rd 328 and owned one they are great guitars, your best bet would be to play both and what ever you like the best go for that one, thanks for watching and commenting I greatly appreciate it 👍
The really bad part about hearing all those guitars you start thinking about getting another one. I love just hearing you demo those guitars just doing samples of a lot of different tunes. I'm still looking for your video playing Wayfaring Stranger Tony Rice style.
I really liked the Martin on Windy andWarm, but felt the Alvarez sounded better on Here Comes The Sun. I think overall the Alvarez has a brighter sound. Enjoyed the demo comparison.
I just bought an Alverez MD60EBG and the audio of UA-cam videos don't do it justice. For the money, this Alverez is a steal! Love it!
Wait till you hear it with mediums. It booms like a damn cannon! I jam with a friend girl of mine and she plays very softly. I’ll actually kind of mimic a bass in certain songs and it’s a good match with her style
You said exactly what I told myself after I got mine.
Wow. What a great attitude and presentation of two guitars. Thank you for taking the time to make this info available. Great playing as well.
The last song is "Here Comes the Sun". Recently heard the Alvarez live and was pleasantly impressed by its sound. Terrific shoot out. Thanks,
I have a d-18 that i love to play.

Nice playing brother. Blown away by how good that Alvarez is.
Fantastic playing!
Wow, that’s some incredible playing my friend
Thanks for watching and I appreciate your kind words, comments like that inspire me to keep making more content 👍
The Alvarez has a beautiful
treble tone.
He's he Greece, but plays Bluegrass.)
Ian Meadows is another one who demos a lot of different guitars.
Wonderful playing sir!
Thanks for watching and your input I appreciate it 👍
Really great playing!
I appreciate you watching and commenting, but I’m about as far from a master as they come. 👍
thanks Delvin, and I'm gonna just buy the Alvarez; cause it will go nicely with my Ventura models
from the early 70's. great video!
EE
Well first off,
Great playing.
I absolutely love the sound of the 5023, I will eventually find myself one!!!
Very good demo. IO like your touch, sir. Thank you. HCTsun. The Alvarez sounds excellent.
I appreciate you watching and commenting 👍
Thanks for watching and I appreciate your input 👍
Right hand work is just impeccable. I'm surprised how much I liked the Alvarez
Windy and Warm was one of the first songs I learned....it took me years to get down
Nice playing.
Thanks for watching I appreciate the input, they are both good guitars and your right for the money you can’t beat the Alvarez
I have an early 70's Alvarez, some kind of D35 copy, that out plays and out sounds my Martin D18, D35, and D42.
Amazing technique
very nice, many thanks to you
Very nice guitar work. You can very definitely hear the difference and I don't know which one is best. The Martin seems to have a brighter sound
and I like that. But at the same time I like the bass frequency in the Alvarez. Tough choice except for the price difference of course. Probably for
me because of the price would be the Alvarez.
Best.
I agree with that it’s hard to find a Martin that has tone and clarity
Love your approach to this. No BS. Just "talking guitar" is the way. Not giving your opinion is great. I have never had a Martin D-18, but I love the sound each puts out.
Stunning player!
Thanks for commenting and have a very Merry Christmas as well 👍
where did you find it for 650
@@thenormalyears everywhere
Your accent rocks bro. Love from the UK.
I'm going to guitar center tomorrow to get an Alvaerz MD610EBG to accompany my D35. GREAT PLAYING .. Here Comes the Sun was perfect.on that Alvarez !!
Thank you very much for watching and I appreciate the compliment! Keep watching I’ll be posting more soon any requests?
Well, if you’re taking requests, anything by the late great Doc Watson would be awesome. I do love Doc.
I wish I could play that good. Two great guitars. Love em both for different reasons
I appreciate you watching and thanks for the compliment, I’m just good at faking it
Thanks for this video it helped me as I'm considering getting an alvarez.
@@lucascruzguitar thanks for the tip and I was wondering which state you're from as I love the accent. Thanks again pal, keep posting vids 😁
Thanks man! I really like the Alvarez, but I have to say when you play here comes the son with the capo up on the neck, I personally like the clarity of the Martin.
The Alvarez has a mellower sound, but not a cheaper sound. It's such a fantastic guitar for the price!
Way closer in sound than the price differential! Thanks.
I agree buddy 👍
I just got one and it seems like it might respond best with heavier gauges. Great pickin'
Great playing
Beautiful playing bye the way both Guitars have awesome tones the Alvarez has more of a cleaner fuller sound I enjoyed both keep up the great work my friend.
Thanks for watching 👍
I just got an Alvarez AD66SHB. The mahogany top is so mellow sounding
Man I’m not even in the market to buy either of these guitars I’m just here to listen to your excellent pickin’
I just bought an MD60BG, so I tried to be biased. But that Martin shows why it's the gold standard. It's just superb. Can't wait to own one. Still love my Alvarez, but that Martin is just special.
Lovley comparison bud! Shame about the alverez bridge but that box would look similar to a Santa Cruz tony rice with a standard bridge and soundhole
Thanks for the Comparison!
Thank you for watching 👍
good review, my friend just have same Alvarez that very nice GT. could you tell me about capo you use it's look good.
Thanks for watching, the capo is a Paige I’ve had for over 20 years
Nice comparison! Of course, the mahogany vs rosewood makes a difference but it's hard to justify the cost difference between the two. A quick question, what strings do you have on the Alvarez?
@Ole timey way correct. I think that guitar is the MD70BG.
Great video man! Just curious as to what capo you’re using? :) these Alvarez guitars are really great for the money!!
Thanks for watching I’m using a Paige capo👍
Dang = I believe I have to go with the Alvarez . Great playing !
Great video! I was thinking of buying the Álvarez BG 70 with the Rosewood back an sides or Recording king 328 Which has aged Adirondack top an rosewood back . Do you have any experience with the recording king I was just wondering what your opinion was ? Thank you for your time and videos
I have played several rd 328 and owned one they are great guitars, your best bet would be to play both and what ever you like the best go for that one, thanks for watching and commenting I greatly appreciate it 👍
I really like the sweet sound of the Alvarez
The martin sounds big and warm. Both great guitars
Thanks for the comment
Thanks for the video......Any thoughts on the Martin D-X2E sound verse the Alvarez MD60BG?
I’ve never played a D-X2E but it better bring its A game to compete with the Alvarez thanks for watching 👍
The really bad part about hearing all those guitars you start thinking about getting another one. I love just hearing you demo those guitars just
doing samples of a lot of different tunes.
