This is the kind of test i want to see for a hunting ebike. I watch these reviews of hunting bikes coasting down these trails or skate parks and shake my head. Good hunter type test ride thank you.
The next time you’re in the hills select 1st gear in the bikes cassette gears and PAS 5 sport mode on the controller. You’ll fly up the hills and your battery will last longer. Ppl think by staying in a lower assist mode when going up hills you save battery. The motor labours more trying to assist you so you kill the battery quicker. I have the MD1000 which is very similar to your bike. Try it.
Bought the Quietkat 750 Ranger for trout fishing The Bitterroot River in Montana. Love it so far and with it becoming Fall, I'll like it even more. Can't wait for snow.
You probably can add a lignt that work with your bike if you want. Check, you probably have an unplug socket on your bike or a place to connect 2 wires on your contrôler. Another thing, you probably have a "push assist" option on your bike. Just push ans hold your "-" button for about two seconds until it start to roll and continu to hold it and walk beside your bike. It will go around with a speed of 6 Km an hour (lets say around 4 miles per hour). When you're done, simply let go the button, it will stop immediatly. Very helpfull when you climb something pushing your bike. Another thing, the number on your screen is your amount of power that your bike gives you as an "assistant". If it's in the "1" position, it gives you like 10% of power. If it's in the "2" position, it will give you more power assist depending on the tork you put on the pedals and so on. But, if you need more "tork power" to climb something really steep, put you chain on the biggest gear on your back wheel and then put you screen number at the higher number and you won't beleive the amount of tork you will have out of you back wheel. (Never put you chain on the small gear to start, especially if you are on the highest set speed, you can snap your chain out!) (In fact, you should allways have a spare chain with you juste un case)
Another thing, you probably can put your screen to "0" instead of turning off your screen. You will still have your speed info without any help from tour motor. If you don't have the zero option, you probably can reprogram it on your screen to have that "0" possibility.
I like the Quiet Kat but wanted more climbing ability and power so I ordered an E-Cell Super Monarch Crown. It comes with 2 wheel drive, 2 batteries and dual suspension and "upper mid tier components". The company is based in Parmuph, NV 40 miles north of Las Vegas. ( live ion Henderson, southern city in the Las Vegas valley. I ordered my E-Cell Super Monarch Crown in matte black instead of the available camouflage pattern for hunting because it will be easier to sell it if it is black.
Iforgot to mention that I needed theE-Cells' power because I'll be 80 next hunting season. Not that I'm feeble but at my age I find that while I still love backpacking and skiing I don't have the stamina I had at 65 and need the assist of an E-MTB to get into Nevada's backcountry.
Love the video! Great job. just an fyi, its the smaller gears on the back wheel that gives you the power to climb. The larger gears have less torque but add speed.
The cart by itself does not weight much so no noticeable difference. Also depending on the amount of weight and terrain that could be a very long and extensive video, lol.
Great video! My wife and I are also avid cyclists and hunters. One question I have is, does this bike have a walk mode? We hunt private farmland that is hilly and one section of road gets very muddy and it's uphill. We don't want to tear up the road at all spinning through the mud so we would have to get off the bike and walk it through that section- about 150 yards. I've seen a lot of e-bikes claim they have a walk mode but it is so fast it is more like a jog mode. If that is the case, I think the bike would still be spinning as we walk beside it. Look forward to your response. Thank you.
Never recharges from dead, but the longest it took me was 4 hours. It comes with a 120v charger, so only if you have an inverter on your truck. 75lbs. Saved a lot of time on the ascent, I can't say exactly how much because I have never tried that climb before with that much extra weight on my regular bike. Now the info I am providing if based on the model I had to test with so it is possible newer models have changed. If you contact the rep Tim Greene for Sawtooth E-Bikes at 208-421-0179 he can help you out better then I could. Thank you!
Personally I put stans no tubes in my tubes. Itnis designed to seal holes from even large nails. There is also a new product out called bacon strips that will seal holes the size of quarters. I have not used them yet, but heard good things so far.
You can use it that way if you would like, but actually the purpose of all electric bikes is to be an eletric assist. That is the reason they still have pedals otherwise they would just have foot pegs like a motorcycle. You do not have to pedal hard at all, actually barley an effort. If you use the pedals you get more distance on one battery then if you dont use them. Thank you for commenting and watching.
Watch the video again please, I DON'T SELL THEM. They let me use one, so I did a review on it. Thank you for checking out the video though and have a great night.

Thanks for taking the time to put this together. I found it very helpful.
Awesome, thorough video! Looking forward to getting into this for hunting and fishing!

Looking for a similar thing here in Australia , thanks mate your vid helped me heaps ! Cheers
You should make more these kinds of videos, tons of useful info you have provided. Thanks
Very well put together and a whole lot of info! I’ve been wanting one for many years but I just don’t have a clue about them. This helps a lot!
Thank you!!!
Actually looking at the Quiet Kats now just for hunting
Found your review and you helped me make my decision.
Thanks and you did a fantastic review
Nice video. It's not a power assist on the brakes. It's a motor cut off so you aren't fighting the motor when you apply the brakes.

EXCELLENT VIDEO! However, I would like to include a review on battery life with cart added. Thanks!

It did not have a walk mode, but that was a few years ago, so mayne the new ones do, but I'm not sure.
Great video thanks!
Thank you

One bad to the bone tool
How long does it take to recharge? Can you recharge using your truck? How much does it weigh? How much time did it save you on the ascent?

Dose the E bike have away to add second battery so can exchange why in the field.
Yes, you can purchase a second battery and swap them out when one dies. The only issue I would see is they are heavy, but do able with a good pack.
What do you do to prevent a flat tire from a thorn?
Personally I put stans no tubes in my tubes. Itnis designed to seal holes from even large nails. There is also a new product out called bacon strips that will seal holes the size of quarters. I have not used them yet, but heard good things so far.

Looks like a ton of ATV traffic on that road.
There probably was some, it's a very big mountian and I didn't see any other hunters that day.
Many Thanks! Sorry you didn’t bag your game.
