- Folks its the second trip of the new year and i found myself driving through Rannoch moor to Glencoe it was completely covered in snow i had originally planned to do the school house ridge but due to weather conditions changing quickly i decided to take on the easier days hike with the wee buachaille etive beag Munros. It turned out to be a great wee hike and quick all in 4 hours so good going in winter conditions but it was bitterly cold with the freezing wind chill which was effecting my camera equipment but still managed to get the footage i needed.

Paul another absolutely freezing day but that never spoiled it a great short winter walk on two wee crackers . Was great to revisit them as the memories were short on that day all those years ago, The sky was beautiful in the morning with the pink colours and the snow covered mountains just made it look fantastic. Thanks David was brilliant to finally get back these great wee Munros and the winter conditions just made it look even more special was bitterly cold up there again all my equipment batteries were failing always a nightmare in the winter conditions but the views were still pretty good so was pleased with what i got. Thanks mate was another day with batteries failing makes all the harder but still managed to put it together, was great getting back there as I always stay away with how busy it is but glad I did them brought back memories 36 years ago and still on the mountains seems mental 😅 but I wouldn't have any other way just want good weather now get some summit camps in looking forward to them this year . Nice one Ally, such a great area in any weather but more so when they’ve got snow on them. Great edit mate and some great early morning light.
Made the right choice about not doing SHR as it would have been very tricky in those conditions esp by yourself.

Thanks Frank was great Glencoe is something else in the snow was another very cold day so was having problems with the batteries but managed to get enough to put the video together. the morning light on the mountains was great , definitely made the right choice to do them and not tackle the ridge as could have been dodgy and with the weather getting worse late morning would have made it even worse but really enjoyed getting back to them after all these years. Love that mountain mate. Cracking video. It was my 9th & 10th munro. It was my first winter munro. Nothing but snowy mountains and clear blue skies. Just a pity I hate my video I made for it lol. Want to take my son up the 1st munro of it. But in good conditions. Well done on another cracking video mate.

Thanks Alan they are a great pair of munros and not to long a walk so always good for sorter days, the conditions were great really cold but still brilliant and still managed some views before the weather change so all worked out. definitely a good one to take your boy good path all the way mate. Great wee day on two cracking munros mick good short route was ideal as the weather was changing quickly but still had a brilliant day . The snow capped mountains in glencoe are something else always great views all around was very cold again, but that's the joys of winter hiking . Atb Ally 👌 👍

A young wipper snapper last time I was up there Kev was brilliant to get back on them as a great pair of munros and great for a short day out was stunning with all the snow amazing how different it looks a fantastic place . ATB ALLY 👌 👍

Thanks Mate glad i decided to revisit these 2 great wee Munros as it had been a very long time but i turned out a great day bitterly cold again but a smashing winter walk Glencoe is stunning in winter conditions. your right about how busy it can get i guess that's why i avoid Glencoe most of the time can be to busy. Nice one Ally..some great views despite it not being as forecast. It's a popular one this one due to being able to park literally at the start, and the shortness of the route, although that's not to say it's easy if you don't have a bit of hill fitness. ATB Andy
Andy great pair of Munros and great to be able to just get straight on to them for a change instead of the long walk-in had a lot of them last year . Great winter walk and even with the weather changing still managed some great views . Atb Ally 👌👍
Great video Ally, thanks for taking me up there. A big contrast to the day l did them on the hottest day in August 2022. I like them because theres no walk in, straight up from the carpark, lazy me 😅Fabulas views from up there. Glad you got down safe. Was in the Glen today, hardly a soul about, perfect........Alioban 😊
Thanks Alison was very cold up there but was brilliant always great to get out in the winter days. they are great for the sorter day as you said your straight on to them from the car park. very unusual to see the glen with no one about but would be be great to have it to yourself as its become a really busy place probably this weather that's coming that's scared everyone away😂. Love Bauchaille Etive Beag, Ally.It's the mountain I have visited the most, usually every year in summer and winter.Done a winter skills course on it my very first winter.I got fed up with my Go Pro batteries always failing me in the cold and lost so much footage from it happening that I went and replaced it with a DJI.😊
Thanks Andys it's a great walk and even in winter conditions it's not that bad get brilliant views up there aswell, my go pro is cracking me up the now been looking at the dji cameras still use the go pro as in good conditions it's great but low light level not good think the dji is a lot better in low light. Remember it well. October 2022. Camped in the ski centre and then up both of these. Horrible conditions on the way up Stob Dubh and then a massive difference on Stob Choire Rannaich sun splitting the sky. Cracking walk all round. Cheers

Great video! Quick question: How do you store your drone while hiking? I got one for Christmas, but I’m struggling to fit it in my 35L backpack. I’ve tried two different cases, but they’re both too bulky. Any advice?
Hi Mate i have a hard case its fits in its usually strapped to the outer back of the rucksack but its bulky as well , but recently i got the chest bag which i have on in the video this fits my controller the drone and spare batteries and cables as well i find it a lot better now as its so easy to get the drone out and back in with out even taking the rucksack off. hopefully this might help mate.
