I did the Buachaille 2 and a half weeks ago. Had it planned, had my map etc then got to that 2nd top - stob na doire and convinced myself my notes where wrong and that was the 2nd Munro top! Got to the car. Set up my tent for the night as I was doing the 2 at the ski centre in the morning then re checked the guides! Gutted!!!! Wish you had done this before me and I wouldn’t have gone down without the 2nd Munro bagged 😂🫣
Great you are halfway, well done. I was a joiner in my past life and had a saying - " when you have done 90% you are about halfway" I hope your second half is as good as your first. I have been up Stob Dearg about 10 times -but only once up the coire. Many thanks for sharing.ATB
Thanks John 😁 I think your saying is right.. I have a fair few ‘biggies’ to get through on the second half 😂 many great routes up Stob Dearg, certainly wont be my last time up there. Cheers, James
Great stuff...yet again. Love, love those mountains. I've been up the big Buachaille more times than any other. So glad you are enjoying your Munro journey and 🍺🍺 here's to the next 141.
After watching all your videos, you’ve inspired me to start bagging munros! Thanks for great videos, tips and information on every Munro you do. True inspiration James! 😇
Fantastic achievement James to get 50% done. Both are amazing ridges to bag. Went to Hellvellyn on the hottest day and it was certainly 'Hell' ish in the 35°c heat.
Done Big Bookle in 2016,wee Bookle in 2017 and again last month...loved the views, like you had a stunning day on the big Bookle.Found your channel coupla months ago, have loved your journeys to many of the peaks I have visited...great memories...good luck with the next 140,I'll be watching!
Buachille Etive Beag was my first taste of Scottish hillwalking, last September. What an intro! I love the way you explain the view at the top of every peak. Keep it up, love your channel!
Congratulations you got to halfway quickly. You may have some difficult ones to come but some great adventures. Can't wait for you to experience the Cuillin ridge. 🙂
i have done all the Wainwrights mountains with my rough collies but only two Munros Ben Nevis and Sgurr Alasdair would love to do some more but i suffer terrible cramp and it depresses me ,still i love your videos they are very inspiring .
Congrats on reaching halfway James. I did Stob Dubh and Stob Coire Raineach when i was up in July, a shorter walk but quite a steep climb up. I did Stob Dearg back in April when there was still some snow on the bealach , another steep climb that one as well. Cheers
Keep going with the Munros I was fortunate that these two were part of the meagre 14 that I collected. Lovely video and as I wont be up there again, Thanks for the memories!!!!
Another great watch James. Well done. You missed a great path onto or off Stob Coire Raineach which unexpectedly zigzags up the face from the road. It is obviously not in the various guidebooks, but well worth doing next time. Regarding BEM my memory, which could well be wrong was that Stob na Doire was the originally promoted Munro, and that they then (correctly in my view) moved it to Stob na Broige as by far the lowest col is south of S n Doire.
Thanks Eddie, will need to try that next time then 😁 that makes sense, its worth heading to the end of the ridge for the fantastic view anyway 😁 Cheers, James
Just caught up with your channel bud...fantastic vlog brilliantly produced love the drone footage, music and very informative...great stuff looking forward to catching up with the rest of your journey PS... Awesome Mountain too 😊👍🏻
Well done James on making it to half way! It's been a pleasure to follow you so far. And quite exciting to see your really good footage of some of the few hills I recognize - I'm 110 behind you. That drone footage of the Buachaille is awesome!
Congrats on making the half way point in such a beautiful place to. They really looked awesome. I saw Bidean which is nearby as you mentioned fromone angle and I thought no ha ha, I get vertigo and it looked pretty hard. Using the van is a great idea, I have a freind with a similar size and it's a conversion, sink, cooker etc, really handy, beautiful filming, well done.
Thank you 😁 great mountains, haha I sometimes get a little vertigo but Im getting better at overcoming it.. looking forward to getting Bidean.. the van is helpful for linking some of the shorter days, helps save a few miles (& fuel) 😁 now that setup would be handy! Cheers, James
Congratulations on reaching halfway James, Glencoe is certainly a great place to bring it up on two fabulous mountains. Enjoy the second half as its a great adventure to complete them all.
Fantastic stuff buddy 👍🏻 Congratulations on the 50% bagged, nice wee montage part at the end there, bit emotional actually 🥺😂 Love your uploads and the escapism you provide for us viewers.
What an amazing video! The drone footage is breathtaking! This is the first of your videos I’ve watched, looking forward to watching the rest! Love the music too! Congratulations on getting to the halfway mark.
Amazing views! I did Buchaille Etive Beag last year, hope to do Etive Mor this year, bring it on. 32 munros conquered so far, looking forward to 33 and many more 👍👍
What a great choice to mark the half way point in your Munro journey. Done both these walks and they are great days in the hills. Look forward to watching your next one👍
Well done James on reaching the 1/2 way stage. I climbed The Buachaille on Sunday for a 2nd time (30 years apart). One of my favourites 😍 Keep enjoying your Munro journey. ATB Linda.
Big congratulations on the half way point. I’m very envious, but also very grateful for sharing the journey with us. Amazing production there.. I missed out on Dubh in May as the wind was just too much on the final ridge to the summit, got Raineach in though and was great. Look forward to the next half with you, especially those Cuillin hills. Loving the tunes too👌🏼
Thanks Rob 😁 Im enjoying sharing the journey too, filming can be difficult at times but usually worth the effort 😁 great you managed to get Raineach - not a bad thing having to return to this fantastic mountain!! Was hoping to get the Cuillin this year but think I might have to wait until 2023.. thanks for watching 😁 James
its nice to see how pleased you are with the buachaile, its a special mountain. its great to see some clips of your adventure so far, i would enjoy a little compilation if you get a chance to put one together.
Congratulations on your halfway point! A nice way to mark it. It was especially nice seeing the walk to Stob na Broige, which I haven't yet climbed... might be a good one to compleat on. I wonder if it can be climbed safely from Glen Etive.
Wow, another cracking video bud. And congratulations on reaching half way 🥳 You had some amazing weather for it! And thanks for showing your van set up after my last comment 😉 Did you mean to get the moon in the shot at 12:00? Btw, who sings that song singing about the Hebrides? Brings me back home!
Thanks Steven 😁 got lucky with the weather (again 😂) .. I didn’t actually mean to get the moon shot, a bit of luck I suppose.. the song is Hebridean Breeze by Beluga Lagoon 😁 Cheers, James
This is country of magic; can be eldritch - I have been socked in on Bidean when the cloud came down in 20 minutes. Etive Mor was kind to me - the midges were at a party in Fort William.
Do you suspect there will be an update to the munro list in future? Definitely an argument for Munro status on that bump perhaps it was considered too close to the first summit.
Congratulations on reaching the half way mark James. Stunning part of the country and a place I am always drawn back to walk munros I have climbed before. Looking forward to your next adventure. Can I ask what drone you use?
Thanks Kenneth, I will definitely be returning to these in the future 😀 Its the DJI Air2s, im starting to get pretty brave with it now - it usually pays off 😂 Cheers, James
Well done getting to halfway James. We bumped into you in May last year in the hills around around Cluanie. I'm wanting to invest in a drone for some video work I have in mind. What do you use?
@@ScottishMunroJourney Thanks James. That's a bit of a beast to carry as well as everything else. Great production. I love your videos, but they aren't always good for my soul given how seldom I can make it up there. Keep going!
Quick ? from someone not from Scotland...Is it legal & safe just to park of the road like that overnight when you're out there doing some hiking? Didn't know if that was pretty common thing or what? Thanks for the terrific videos!
stunning views, thanks for sharing again, wish I was there, .Munro.141, some achievement. good for you x

Beautiful production. Thanks. Gives me some excellent ideas for me and my son in the coming years.
Thanks Nathan, this was a fantastic trip 😁🏔
