Showboat's Island Waterpark Construction Update - Atlantic City

- Back in January 2022, Showboat's owner Bart Blatstein made the announcement that he wanted to bring more family friendly attractions to his resort.
Blatstein knew that Atlantic City was missing the family entertainment aspect as it mostly catered to gamblers. He wanted to corner the family market so he held a press conference to announce the Island Waterpark.
This waterpark was billed as largest indoor waterpark in the world. Costing over $100 million dollars, this year-round indoor waterpark will sit in a retractable glass-pane roof and will consist of 103,000-square-feet of space.
Inside you can find a boardwalk of games, restaurants, bars, a Lazy river, party rooms and over 10 massive slides.
Since the announcement crews broke ground and have been working around the clock to get the property built in time for their May 2023 opening date.
We visited the site to bring you some updates on the construction of the waterpark.
At this time, the roof skeleton is complete and concrete inside has been laid. Most of the slides are put together and should be filled with water in 3 weeks.

Just subscribed. Wildwood is my happy place even though I live in TN. Looking forward to our trip flying into Atlantic City this year and will check this place out if we have time. Can't wait to be on the shore and boardwalk.

I was at Oceans Hotel last weekend and it doesn't look like it will be ready Memorial Day weekend, we'll see. The Arcade next to the Waterpark is massive and really nice. I agree, they need to invest money in the neighborhood, not just the boardwalk. They need a CVS or Walmart on the Boardwalk as well. Just my opinion

In all honesty they should've put Tangar Outlets on the boardwalk, and used Tangar's current space for Walmart/CVS, etc.
Thanks so much for finally improving the "Playground of the world", its been a long time coming. What a wonderful memorial and tribute to those who lived there, and raised their kids there back in the day. I have fond memories of the neighbors in the whole area. I wish you much success
for many years to come. Hopefully the nay sayers will be wrong.

I heard they charge $100 pp to get in. Doesn't include the $25 a day to park or a room if you want to stay over.
I don't see it succeeding, or even opening this summer. AC is not a family friendly place anymore. I wish someone would research the financing behind it, but that would upset too many politicians and developers.
I love AC and i will always be pushing for it to adjust with the times and the people there are good people as well!

Looks nice, but instead of making a huge water park why don't they invest in improving the city. I live in AC, I remember what a great place it was before the casinos came, they destroyed the city. Wondering how expensive it will be and how long it will last.

Looks great but have doubts about getto Atlantic City. Believe it in the top three cities in NJ with the highest crime rate. Like to know where all the money went when over a dozen casinos were giving tons of money for over 30 years to AC. Like putting lip stick on a pig.
